Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 bloody fight, secrets

One thing I definitely know about myself when coming face to face with the damned quill rats(that were the size of a fucking dog!) is that I really don't like these bastards and you know what, the damned rodents felt the same way.

So it was mutual!

As they attempted to greet me with a few quills that were strangely green and something was dripping from them!

I did a barrel roll away from them trying to keep myself from being surrounded as those quills looked like the tips of a syringe the kind used for turkeys or roasted pigs, so I was making double the effort not to get one of those quills lest I literally become something similar to thanksgiving meal for these quill rats!

I threw a few darts at the nearest oversized rodent, which, unfortunately for me, missed on my first try since these guys were my first moving targets that and I was hesitant to kill them, getting familiar with their speed and movements I was going to try again. However, my hesitation quickly disappeared when I didn't expect that these animals would suddenly charge and tackle me in the chest, knocking the wind out of me and drawing some blood, followed by searing pain.

I remembered one thing about this game that one of my friends mentioned before, during work at one time.

"Diablo is a brutal game; one mistake can kill you if you aren't careful!"

The attack, which by the way hurt like hell, left a few presents digging into my chest, which added to my pain.

To which, I was getting angry at this rather than afraid, as I still had so much to do...

So like a switch was flipped, I stopped caring about my pain, my body, my thoughts of trying not to kill anything.

So I reacted by grabbing hold of the quill rat that hurt me while ignoring the quills digging into my hand from behind the neck, then lifted it up for a bit!

As it struggled to get away before drawing my crude knife before stabbing the hell out of its face, eyes, neck, my hand too a couple of times, drenching myself in its blood and my own, before shifting my bloodshot eyes to the next quill rat.

My sudden change in demeanor intimidated them as the one I stared at flinched.

But it wasn't enough to scare them away...!

I threw the now dying quill rat at the other quill rats. I wanted them all to suffer a bit before I ended their miserable lives as adrenaline was making me very aggressive and numb to my pain!

Once I choose my victim, I charged wildly towards my next target that fired a few quills into my left thigh before I kicked it as hard as I could into its face, with a few cracking sounds, sending it into the air as I pulled out some of the quills using it as a handheld weapon as I yelled like a maniac as everything seemed to turn red!

----3rd POV----

While one quill rat was falling back to the ground from the kick earlier, Walter rushed again toward the nearest quill rat that fired a few quills that Walter narrowly dodged before stumbling back to his feet.

However, the foot he used to kick felt weird, trying to get to the beast as soon as possible, as his breathing was starting to get heavy, his sight began to blur.

Some of the quill rats started running, as a certain someone was killing the others off before the bloodied figure of Walter finally reached his target, then stomped down on it to hold the beast in place before going 'stabby-stabby' mode on it again!

The was a brutal scene as the monster screeched in pain and fear as the man's foot bled from some of the quills piercing through his shoes and foot, He pulled out more of the quills before stabbing it into the monster's paws he didn't have enough at first but forcefully breaking a few quills off of it did some damage!

Silvia was rather intrigued by his sudden change and bloodthirstiness, but she continued to take care of the extra monsters as Walter barely passed. Nah, to be on the safe side, it is a fail, an epic fail!

Walter did fine at the gambling arena, so why was he having so much trouble killing a few beasts, no wait, he only killed two well technically one, as the other quill rat under his bleeding foot was barely breathing but still alive, surely at his age, he should have more than a few hundred beasts used as target practice or to keep his skills from getting too rusty.

When she wasn't even a teen yet and her kill record of quill rats, demons, undead, fallen rogues already surpassed 1000 altogether, at first when she met Walter Silvia assumed he was someone who left the battlefield for a long time, as he was fit, kinda good looking and knew how to fight (somewhat), however, this time around he sucked!

As he nearly died from fighting Quill rats, the weakest monsters to deal with in this area!

But She watched on while monitoring his condition as he may be weak now but he was growing...fast at a delectable speed~ something that all amazon women seek as a lifetime partner, and hopefully for better offspring and a good training partner!

So it was her job to help pave the path for him, whether he likes it or not, well, at least until her main duty calls…

Walter looked like someone who fought dark rogues and those goatmen from the moon clan and barely survived.

At least she doesn't need to give him a cover story, because imagine how embarrassing it would be to explain how a full-grown man had struggled against Quill rats!

The man she picked was now howling to the sky as the blood of his victim and his own dripped to the ground before collapsing face-first into the stained ground, Silvia was about to pick him up then bring him back to the Encampment.

However, something happened, something... weird, the quill rat that he brutalized changed into an orb of light, then entered his body.

It was unlike anything she had ever seen before as barbarians, necromancers, druids, assassins, sorceresses, and many more came around, but none of them ever had such a spectacle happen.

He ain't a Nephilim, that's for sure, so it brings the question...

Is it a good idea to let this person continue to grow?

Or was it better to report this to Kashya than end him there?

Sadly she had already taken him as her Gufta, so she reluctantly decided to keep it to herself lest it brings trouble to her real task.

Ha~ this man was a pain in the ass for her to deal with, looks like he really wasn't much of a fighter or even a mercenary for that matter.

But this excited her, he was learning faster than a trained warrior, like a sponge, and it was like his body was quickly adapting to make him ready for the trials to come.

'How far can he reach?' she wondered.

She could hardly control herself right now to see how much Walter could handle, trying to see what his limit was as it seemed like they were only scratching the surface so far...!

But still, her mind wanders back to the scene of the quill rat turning into an orb before entering Walter's body.

Was that good or bad for him?

Only time will tell, but right now she was thinking of other ways to improve his growth as what she'll put him through might make him lose a few layers of skin~

As Silvia carried him over her shoulder, she failed to notice the eye that opened on his temple for a brief moment before closing.
