The boundless dark land grew ever more profound, its churning soil becoming as viscid as a marsh. Countless ghost claws extended from the earth, tearing at the tree roots, phantoms of human veins.

A sharp blade light severed a ghost hand clutching at his ankle; Shao Zifeng looked up, only to see innumerable ghost claws tearing at Yaya's hind paws, seemingly trying to drag it into an abyss.
He waved his hand, and a Space Rift opened slowly: "Yaya, go in and take shelter for now."

Reluctance filled Yaya's amber-colored eyes, but it was the only one present incapable of flight, and without action, it truly might be dragged beneath the ground.
After the Space Rift vanished, Shao Zifeng's pupils narrowed into golden-red vertical slits, and a few imaginary dragon scales surfaced at the corners of his eyes.
