Synopsis
What would happen if a random person was summoned to a new world with a Random Summoner System? Good question. Shall we find out? A novel about a system that allows the summoning of random beings from all across creation—as long as they possess sentience. This includes self-aware weapons, artifacts, and who knows what else. Please note, this is my first ever attempt at writing, so I’m looking for constructive criticism, not trash talkers. Any help or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Chapter 1 - Prologue: Trap of Fate

Prologue: Trap of Fate

Robert was a local homeless man who found himself dead after a fight with another homeless man over a pack of Hostess cakes. In the midst of the fight, he got unlucky—knocked off his feet, landing on a shard of glass that severed his carotid artery.

He passed out from blood loss within moments.

An unknown amount of time passed before he slowly became self-aware again. As he groggily opened his eyes, he found himself in an endless tunnel, flanked on either side by a countless number of doors.

While looking around, trying to figure out what in the hell was going on, he spotted a sign. On it was written:

"To all those lost souls that find themselves here, rejoice!

You are afforded the luck to reincarnate.

The way this works is determined entirely by your inherent luck.

All you have to do is pick a door—simple, right?

After choosing your door, you will receive further instructions.

So good luck... and Me-speed!"

"What the hell is this? Souls reincarnate? How the hell did I even die—I can't remember! Well, whatever, let's do this. All I have to do is pick a door… but let's walk a bit and see if I can find anything that gives me more clues."

And so, our confused friend began walking, observing each and every door in the tunnel. Shockingly, they all looked exactly the same.

Suddenly, Robert burst into loud, boisterous laughter after a pause.

"'Me-speed'—hahahaha, I see what they did there. Pffft."

You see, Robert was always a fan of obscure and dad-style humor. Puns were his bread and butter.

"Well, I can't just keep walking forever, can I?"

Even though he said that, he continued on, determined.

After traveling for who knows how long, he finally spotted a door that was different. As he approached, he noticed a sign hanging on it that simply read: "TRAP."

Not one to follow the rules, Robert grinned.

"Screw it," he muttered, and stepped through the door labeled TRAP.

Upon entering, space seemed to vibrate. After a very unpleasant, sickening feeling passed, he found himself in the stereotypical white room most reincarnators recognize.

"Well," a voice said, "it's been a very long time since someone ignored the obvious warning and actually found my door. Hahaha!"

"Excuse me," Robert asked, blinking, "but who are you, and what the hell is going on? None of this makes any sense."

As Robert studied the stranger, the stranger stared right back at him.

"Hahahaha! I never thought I'd get to hear the most cliché reincarnator line ever!" the man roared, clutching his sides with laughter. "Okay, I like you. You made me laugh—and while most people can, you weren't even trying."

Wiping a tear from his cheek, he added, "By the way, my name's James. Shocker, right? A god in charge of transferring souls, yet I've got a name straight out of a sitcom. But like you, I enjoy going against the norm. Hahaha!"

He straightened up. "Anyway, let's move this along—I do have a job to do."

James cleared his throat. "You've been randomly selected to reincarnate into a random world with a system. Each door in the tunnel has a different system admin inside. As for mine, you've landed the Random Summoner System."

He smiled proudly. "It's in the Top 10 on the System Charts—ranked number 9. Not bad, huh?"

Robert frowned. "That's great and all, but… why me?"

James shrugged. "Didn't I just say? Random. There was no reason to choose you specifically. However, I will warn you—you will have a very real mission on the other side. I can't tell you what it is yet, but when you're strong enough, you'll discover it naturally."

He smiled slyly. "Also, since you entertained me so much, I'm giving you a little bonus—something extra on top of what's normally granted."

And with that, James waved his hand.

"Farewell!"

Everything went black.

A/N Hey guys I'm making this chapter shorter than the main set as an intro type thing.

A few things to note I am purely armature at writing so lay it on me thick.

Also for the welcome gift pleas give me suggestions for it HERE.

For the suggestions i will put them in a randomizer for the extra gift that James said.
