Five months later.
A group of men and women arrived at the boarding school, all armed. Five truckloads of them.
Ari: I think we might have brought too many people.
Klaus: Don't say that. Remember, they need to work in order to eat. Plus, I hope she's here. We've been searching for months, and I'd like to stop now.
Ari: Let's go.
The two stepped out of the helicopter. Ari signaled her co-pilot to stay alert.
They walked up to the school gates, armed.
Klaus shook the gate.
Klaus: It's locked.
He took out his gun and shot off the lock.
Klaus: And now it's open.
He entered the courtyard.
Clementine walked out slowly, holding a knife. She looked cautious.
Klaus: Might you be Clementine?
Clementine: Yes, I am... What do you guys want?
Ari: Why don't you come with us? We have food, shelter, and where we live is secure—no walkers.
Clementine: Why should I come with people I don't know?
Klaus: But we know you. Either you come with us... or we'll kill your friends.
Ari eyed him, not liking his words.
Clementine let out a sigh and dropped her knife.
Klaus signaled his men to get the children.
Klaus: You guys will also be coming with us.
The kids were guided into one of the trucks.
As Clementine was about to enter one of the trucks, Klaus stopped her.
Klaus: You'll ride with us.
Clementine: Okay… but if you try to hurt my friends or AJ, I will kill you.
Klaus: Yeah, sure.
Clementine got into the helicopter, and they left the boarding school behind.
Ari: It will take us about 7 hours to reach our destination. Maybe 11 or 12 hours for those in the trucks.
---
After a long journey through the sky, Clementine finally reached.
It was a city with really tall walls and clean streets. The buildings were repaired, and a lot of people were living in them. It didn't feel like the world she knew anymore. It felt like something before the outbreak.
Klaus: Welcome to our home.
Ari landed the helicopter behind a big white house. They got out.
Ari: Don't worry. The kids will be okay.
Klaus: Follow me, Clementine.
They entered the white house.
Clementine looked around. It was heavily guarded. Soldiers everywhere, standing by the walls and doors.
Finally, they reached an office. Standing outside it was Dale.
Dale: Is this the girl?
Ari: Yes.
Dale opened the door.
Clementine stepped inside... and froze.
There was a girl standing next to the desk. But her eyes moved to the right—her breath caught.
Her heart skipped.
There, standing in front of her... was him.
Older now. A few gray hairs. A beard. But it was him.
Clementine: Impossible... L-Lee?
His eyes watered the second he saw her.
Lee: It's been a while, sweet pea.
Her lips trembled, she stepped forward slowly. Her legs felt weak.
Clementine: Lee? Is it really you? But… you were... you were bitten... You were dying...
She stared at him, tears filling her eyes.
Lee: I was. But somehow I survived the walker bite… While surviving I met Klaus And His sister.
Clementine ran into his arms.
Lee caught her and held her tight—like he never wanted to let go.
He closed his eyes, and tears streamed down his face.
Lee: I missed you so much...
Clementine (crying): I thought I lost you forever. I had to leave you. I never got to say goodbye.
Lee: You didn't have to. I never stopped thinking about you. Every day.
Clementine clung to him. Her small hands gripped his jacket, and her tears soaked into it.
Clementine: I kept thinking about what you told me. I tried to be strong... I tried so hard.
Lee's voice broke.
Lee: You did more than that, Clem. You became a survivor. You grew up... You made it.
He pulled back just enough to look at her face.
Lee: I'm so proud of you.
Clementine wiped her eyes, sniffling.
Clementine: You don't know how much I needed you...
Lee nodded slowly, crying too.
Lee: I'm here now. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere.
They hugged again, tighter than before.
The room was silent except for the sound of their crying.
Outside the door, the others stood quietly.
Inside, the past, pain, and heartbreak melted into that one moment. Like a daughter reunited with her dad. A broken heart mended.
And for the first time in a long, long time...
Clementine felt safe.
