Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 - Destroying the Clegane's Keep.

[Chapter Size: 2300 Words.]

Third Person POV.

Riverrun.

...

...

The night was not over — quite the opposite. For Jon, who could see cities and castles lit up in the region, it wasn't even the wolf hour yet, and for Jon, the night was just beginning.

The Mountain, still unconscious, swayed with the dragon's movement. He remained knocked out, and Jon didn't mind treating him like an animal as long as he didn't die before they reached the North.

"Let's see..." he muttered, raising a magical barrier around himself, creating a shield that protected him from the wind as he opened a dimensional inventory and pulled out a large scroll.

There was the map of Westeros. Jon was about 3,000 meters high. He activated his magical eyes to see through the darkness, seeing everything as clearly as if it were day in that moment.

Quickly, he located where he was to search for his two main objectives for the night.

"It'll take a while... but let's head this way, we'll start with the south since it's closer to us," Jon said, guiding Winter, who began flapping her wings strongly, soaring through the skies.

It took about half an hour to cross the West, until he reached Jon's first point of interest.

Down below, what he saw was none other than the Clegane family's castle. The embers of the torches and the glow of the candles lit up the castle, slightly away from the city — at least 500 meters.

"Well... looks like I don't have to hold back here," Jon said, patting Winter's neck gently.

"Let's begin, girl. Are you ready for this?"

Winter responded with a growl, although it was a clear and positive answer. Jon took a deep breath and looked up at the dark sky above them. There were few clouds there — most of the rain was still over Riverrun — but he would change that.

"STRUN BAH QO!!!"

In the next instant, he chanted a mystical tone, and an explosion of power shot into the sky like thunder, and the emergence of the Thu'um glowed as it reached its peak, drawing everyone's attention below with the sudden boom that echoed like thunder.

Suddenly, everything began to darken even more, sealing away any star that dared to shine before. Black clouds filled the sky. That Thu'um used by Jon was the kind of power he classified as 'playing god'. He could change the weather — turning a clear sky into a fierce storm with strong winds and rain filled with lightning.

And so it happened.

In the next moment, the skies closed. Lightning began to strike, thundering nonstop right after the sudden wind. Though not as intense as the first explosion from the Shout, it was enough to cause panic.

Down below, what had been a peaceful night turned into chaos. Most of the Western army was still in Riverrun under Tywin's command. The territories of House Clegane were part of Lord Lannister's domains, and only a few men had stayed behind to protect the castle and the lands of the Clegane family.

Everything seemed normal... until the sonic boom echoed in the sky. The guards on the walls looked up, surprised, seeing a kind of bluish light ball rising vertically into the sky — something they couldn't explain.

"What was that...?" they murmured, confused.

But there was no time for answers.

The wind came strong and sudden. Everyone was even more surprised by the storm that formed out of nowhere.

"A storm... just... like that?" they said, as lightning sliced through the skies and the rain began to fall heavily.

"Damn it! And what was that just now?" some complained.

"Let's take cover in the sheltered areas!" one of the guards shouted, pointing to small stone houses built along the upper parts of the walls like little garrisons, and now, used as their best shelter.

The men, with the sigil of House Clegane stamped on the chest of their leather armor, began to run, hurriedly.

ROAAAARRRR

As they fled, a roar echoed in the sky — completely distinct from the thunder. It was a sound that silenced the hurried steps, making the guards widen their eyes as they stared into the darkness above them while only the lightning could light up the stormy sky.

"What was that...?" one of them murmured, with the rain hitting hard against the openings of his helmet, feeling the strong water on his skin.

"Hey! What are you doing out there? It was just lightning!" said a comrade, calling him to come inside the garrison, while the wind pushed the water in forcefully.

"No... there's something in the sky!" the guard shouted stubbornly, staying outside while holding onto the stones of the wall so as not to be knocked over by the wind.

"What? What's up there besides a storm? What are you talking about, idiot? Get in already!" the other barked, irritated.

"There!! I see it!... it's a white shadow! There's something up there!" the man insisted, trying to warn his comrades — but none of them seemed to believe him.

Another lightning bolt sliced through the sky.

In that brief flash, he saw it. A white mass once again, flying. It moved through the air flapping its wings, and then began to turn back in their direction.

The guard swallowed hard, trembling. He swore he had seen the creature turn toward him before the lightning vanished and everything went dark again.

"Quick, take cover!" he shouted, but there was no more time.

The flapping of wings grew louder and louder in his ears. Only he seemed aware of what was truly coming.

It was in that instant that Winter came diving from the sky, tearing through the air with her massive wings. She charged straight toward that pillar of the wall. Suddenly, she flipped upside down with mastery, shaking the Mountain's body — who looked like a doll tied to her back — while aiming precisely for the area below.

Jon, riding on the dragon's back even upside down and without a saddle, was securely attached to the dragon and smiled, shouting words in the dragon tongue.

"YOL TOOR SHUL!!!"

In the next instant, a blazing burst exploded from Jon's mouth, streaking across the sky like a comet. A line of fire was spat out with fury, hitting the wall pillar directly, exploding with violent impact as it kept breaking the stones and hurling them backward.

The flames consumed everything. The heat was devastating. The wall cracked, broke, and then collapsed — the fire devoured every man at that point. They were cremated alive, turned to ashes before they could even understand what was happening.

The light from the explosion lit up the castle, causing those inside to approach the windows, terrified.

"What is that?!" shouted one of the soldiers inside. "What's happening out there?!"

The skies roared again.

And a voice echoed through the thunder of the storm.

"Now... now it's your turn," said Jon, from atop the dragon. "Let's bring this castle down."

With those words, Winter leaned her body forward, starting a devastating dive. Her wings flexed back, gaining even more momentum.

From the top of a section on the right, one of the archers could only glimpse a silhouette coming from the sky. Then, the creature opened its mouth while he couldn't even describe what he was seeing, staring in terror as that thing's mouth began to glow brighter and brighter.

And the world exploded in white flames.

The impact began to destroy that entire area. Even though it was ice, it was just as destructive as the power Jon had used before. The force of that pure ice blast quickly sank the stones, flinging them backward while freezing everything it touched — and destroying.

That made everything shake as the whole place could hear the explosion destroying part of the castle. The entire castle went into panic. People began to flee while some witnesses, who had actually seen what had happened, didn't even know how to describe the creature. But immediately, they began shouting to everyone:

"Run! There's a monster in the sky!!"

Winter returned to the sky. And, once again, dove down, now advancing toward the main part of the castle.

Meanwhile, the flames roared all around. The stones began to collapse, bringing down the walls. The blazes invaded the halls and corridors, destroying everything they found.

Servants and nobles ran through the stairs, trying to escape. The castle, now taken by white flames and fury, began to crumble, trembling with each attack.

The temperature dropped rapidly. The freezing wind left behind by the previous blast began to dominate the area, creating a mist through the place. The very stones froze to a point where they shattered into dozens of pieces.

Winter climbed to the sky again before diving once more. She passed along the left side of the castle while roaring, destroying another wing with the impact of her wings.

"It's not that I wish death upon you..." Jon muttered, looking down at the castle. "But I don't have time to choose who's going to die."

There was no way to avoid victims — even those he would rather spare. After all, the servants of those nobles didn't necessarily take part in his revenge. But he was there to destroy.

His gaze turned to the body swinging, bound by chains to the dragon's neck.

"How could I forget about you? Why don't you take a look at your home?" Jon said, almost with disdain.

Then, he used magic to awaken the Mountain, who let out a sharp, sudden scream, completely disoriented.

"Look, Clegane. This is the place where you live," Jon said with irony. "It's... a little more destroyed than I imagined."

He didn't know if the man could actually hear him — but spoke anyway. Clegane screamed desperately, seeing his whole world spinning as he hung from the dragon, while the pain from the loss of his leg had returned.

Jon then led Winter in a low flight over one of the tips of the main tower, which began to collapse, the walls already weakened by the destruction.

Screams of terror echoed from the base of the castle. Guards and servants ran in panic. The titanic sound of stones crashing to the ground, after one of the towers collapsed, could be heard even amid the storm.

Winter then ascended to the skies again, as if disappearing into the clouds.

"It's a beautiful show, but we still have a lot to destroy in this castle," Jon declared, completely taken by the experience of riding a dragon — after killing so many of them — and destroying a human castle with this one.

Ignoring all the people fleeing through the courtyard, he advanced directly through the main gate and destroyed, with a single blast, the entire left side of the castle.

In the city, in the distance, people watched in horror. Some tried to flee, but the sounds of explosions and screams drowned out even the thunder. White lights could be seen coming from above the castle, reflecting across it, accompanied by distant explosions — Clegane castle was being destroyed.

It didn't take long for the first survivors to start appearing in the city. They were lucky enough to already be outside the castle when the storm began and ran, screaming for shelter.

"Something is attacking Clegane Fortress!"

More and more people fled. Even those who had been inside the castle arrived in the city with desperate screams.

"There's a monster flying over the place!"

The destruction continued. Even from a distance, everyone could see the explosions and the collapse of the castle's structures, breaking one by one. White lights illuminated that area while the sky was filled with lightning, revealing the presence of a gigantic creature as they saw a small shadow flying before descending once more toward the castle.

Then came the worst.

A sound louder than anything they had ever heard before filled the air. A new wave of explosions began, and everyone knew — the castle was collapsing completely.

The stones crumbled like sand. The structure gave in to total chaos.

This collapse continued for a while, as the echo of the explosions spread throughout the region. Those who could still look up at the sky saw the white mass — the creature — rising once again and vanishing into the clouds.

But the storm did not end.

The rain and lightning continued, like a hellish symphony on that night of terror, and no one else dared approach the destroyed area. For those who survived, it was a memory impossible to forget.

It was only at dawn that the rain began to calm. The men then advanced to check the castle, but always looking at the sky in search of any sign of what could bring their deaths.

Upon arrival, they stopped, horrified at the sight.

What remained of the castle was just a pile of stones — collapsed one over the other. Nothing resembled the place that once existed.

There was ice everywhere. Sharp shards, some colossal, were embedded in the ground. The cold was unbearable — many there had never felt such low temperatures in their entire lives and trembled.

The castle of House Clegane had been destroyed since the beginning of that dawn.

But it would not be the only one.

Soon, the news would spread about what had happened there. And with them, even more shocking rumors would arrive from the north: another fortress had fallen.

Even before the sun fully rose, to the north of the kingdom, the same sight could be seen at the castle of House Lorch, also waking to destruction. The attack had come at the end of the night. And with the exception of the lord and knight, Amory Lorch — who was in Harrenhal — all other members of the house had been killed, buried with their home.

No one knew exactly what had happened.

But these events, combined with the strange phenomena that had been occurring in Westeros over the past moons, plunged the Seven Kingdoms into an even deeper state of dread.
