"Your King Kai!? Then who is this!" Goku pointed at the monkey who was now laughing and pointing at him.
"That's my friend bubbles, he's my favorite monkey." King Kai said in confusion, not knowing why these three came to his planet.
"King Kai, us three have come to you for training....Martial arts training that is!" Krillin just remembered the introduction of King Kai.
"Oh martial arts, at first I thought you wanted me to train you to become one of the greatest comedians alive." King Kai sounded disappointed.
In the anime King Kai misunderstood Goku and thought he wanted to be taught on how to become a better joke teller, seeing the scene with his own eyes Krillin realized Kai desperately wanted to tell jokes!
"I suppose I should test you three and see if your worthy, come at me all at once!" King Kai immediately entered a martial arts stance.
'System what is his power level' Goku thought as he entered as he entered a similar stance.

Seeing his higher powerlevel, Krillin went all out and rushed forward at Kai. Goku followed his lead as Piccolo junior tried to take a step forward before buckling.
Krillins threw punches and kicks at King kai, they were all incredibly slow but King Kai was a little shocked by the force he had behind them. Goku rushed in on Krillin's left forcing the Kai to have to block and dodge both of them at the same time.
Casually throwing both Krillin and Goku to the ground in one fell swoop, King Kai start stroking an imaginary gotee on his face.
"You guys have proper form but I don't know if you have what it takes to become my disciple." King Kai said patting his close.
"I see, can we retest but this time without our weights on?" Krillin said this knowing it would get a rise out of Kai.
"Weights?" King Kais eyebrows raised in confusion.
Without answers, both Krillin and Goku began talking off all of their weight clothing. With each piece of apparel off they threw it to the ground, cracks and fissures began to grow in the dirt.
With everything's taken off, Krillin put on the magical shoes he got from Popo and immediately felt the shoes affecting his movement. Looking at the weights causing cracks in the ground, King Kai entered a more serious stance and prepared himself.
Krillin suddenly disappeared before King Kais eyes and had to hurriedly defend his right side, the strength Krillin put into the attack wasn't too powerful as it was just a spar but the speed shook King Kai to the bone.
As he was distracted with Krillin, Goku managed to sneak up on the weird blue god and almost land a punch before Kai somehow dodge back.
King Kai's body was filled with Cold sweats just from that little exchange, after removing the weights and putting on the shoes Krillin had become just as fast as King Kai! Of course King Kai was caught of guard and was almost hit square in the face!
Krillin and Goku gave each other a look and we're about to go in when King Kai wave his hands rapidly. "That's enough! I've seen enough... You guys have what it takes to become my disciple!"
King Kai was much stronger than them, while his speed was comparable to Krillin who wore magic shoes, he could easily just deploy his Kaio-ken technique and speed blitz them. Of course he didn't want to use that body damaging technique so he decided to stop the fight now.
"I would ask you two to chase after Bubbles and Gregory but you two have far surpassed them, your little friend will have to catch them however if he wants to be trained by me." Bubbles began dancing around and teasing Piccolo Jr much ti the little nakemians annoyance.
"Seeing as how you both have met the physical requirements, I shall immediately begin teaching you two my glorious signature techniques!" King Kai said with pride in his voice
"King Kai, I was wondering if you could also reach me the Yardrats Instant Transmission technique!" Krillin said.
There was three techniques that king kai had that Krillin desperately wanted, Kaio-ken, Spirit bomb, and instant Transmission!
The first two were obviously something Krillin would need, the Kaio-ken acted like a downgrade version of super Saiyan that damaged the users body when used. This technique was the building block that Krillin would need to keep up with the characters later in the series.
The Spirit bomb was the ultimate finishing move that was up their with the Kamehameha wave, it managed to defeat kid buu and a fused Zamasu. This technique was unique in that it didn't require the users own Ki, so theoretically even Krillin could defeat those powerful opponents like Buu even at his current level of strength!
As for the last technique, the Instant Transmission, Krillin knew for a fact that King Kai already knew it. In the series after Goku goes to yardrat and learns instant Transmission, King kai teased Goku that he could've just asked him to learn it!
It turns out that King Kai thought the Yardrats instant transmission would be useful and had gone to the planet long aho and learned it long, meaning he could teach it to Krillin!
"The instant Transmission technique? If you really want to learn it I shall teach you but know this, in order to use this technique you have to have incredible control over your Ki, Mind and Body in perfect balance! Compared to the other techniques I'll teach you, this one will be much more time consuming."
Hearing the requirements needed to learn the instant Transmission Krillin couldn't hide his smile.
'I probably have the greatest Ki control of any Mortal being! As for balancing my Mind, Body and energy, I already balanced my Mind and Body from learning the Selflessness state, I just have to balance my Ki with them as well.'
"I understand King Kai and I still want to learn the technique!" Krillin said with dedication.
"Hey I don't know what this instant tram thingy is but I also want to learn it!" Goku shouted in.
"Alright alright I'll teach you it as well but first, INTRODUCE YOURSELF!" King Kai yelled out.
It was only then that Krillin and Goku realized they hadn't said their names!
"I am Son Goku!"
"I am Krillin!"
