Chapter 13 - Escape the library (2)

"OVER HERE" Jesse could hear a certain someone yelling and leading a group of other teachers.

[An angry mob of teachers lead by the guy you stole all your points from]

Reflected in his eyes.

"Well, this is not good. Time for me to get out of here". Jesse mumbled.

Jesse started to sneak past all the teachers unseen thanks to his new spell he could overhear some teachers on the way out the library.

"It seems the shroud spell was stolen!"

A teacher spoke noticing the semi clean safe with missing dust.

"Guess I wasn't thorough at all with my stealing." Jesse peaked behind at the teacher searching the room from head to toe.

"We must inform the headmaster and pay close attention to all the second years there's no way a first year was able to do all this let alone learn the spell and use it. That spell is banned for the first years to learn if we see any of them use it contact a higher up immediately". The leading teachers of their respective subjects all nodded in agreement as Jesse exited the library seemingly impossible to notice his presence as the shadows of the teachers and prefects danced along the school walls.

"What a night well I guess they found out I took that spell book that was fast." Jesse sighed walking back along the path to the dormitories and undoing his spell he slowly opened the door and peaked towards Henry's office silently activating his spell.

[He's still sleep?! Wow that's amazing]

[Floor is slippery this way]

[Nothing else to Scan.]

"I guess I'll head up to my room now and rest till the daytime then" Jesse turned to go up the stairs and at the top he felt a hand grab around his collar with great force and pull him forward.

"So, what kind of trouble were you getting into just now?" Alex said quietly, letting Jesse free.

"Nothing was just checking out how dangerous it is at night. More trouble than it's worth but still kind of interesting." Jesse said pulling away and giving Alex a pat on the back.

"I got some cool new tricks up my sleeve now so I should be safe next time I decide to sneak around." Jesse said holding up his arms and flexing.

"Just be careful then I guess. I thought we were starting to develop a friendship don't get kicked out of here before even learning anything to take back with you. That or you learn just a bunch of useless junk. I'm sure anyone who survives here for even a year will have a fulfilling life in our old world wherever that might be. Next time you sneak out might be your last so just watch it." Alex sighed going back into his room and closing the door behind him the magical lock engaging.

Jesse walked back to his room and closed the door. I guess I can't let anyone know I have this spell right now. That just leaves me back to what I began with before the night started. While everyone else is busy getting stronger I'm not doing much here so far. There must be more excitement hidden behind these walls. I guess I'll just turn in for the night.

Jesse went over to lay on his uncomfortable bed and closed his eyes for the night. Thinking back to the spells and abilities he has seen since arriving and wishing for some more of his own or at least one he could feel like a powerhouse with.

The next day the sun was high in the sky, and everyone was already settled on in and at their morning classes.

"I'm late!!" Jesse yelled getting up and running out the door almost knocking over Henry on his way out the boys' dormitories and sprinting to homeroom. He decided to use his shroud spell while hiding in the courtyard of the school as he made his way to professor sparks class. He slowly made his way through the halls and creaked open the door to the class. Sneaking in and taking a seat at the top of the class on the steps he decided to listen in on lecture for the day.

"Alright class seeing as it's still the first week of everyone's learning course and I know not all of you have had the luxury of even learning even the tiniest bit of magic here. There's more than one way to learn magic here other than books. Mana is life energy and you can control the life energy in your body as well as the energy flowing through the air. Depleting all your mana won't kill you but if you don't know what you're doing it will exhaust you or make you black out for a while nothing to serious" Professor spark said smiling and scanning the classroom.

"It seems like I'm missing a student today. One of the new ones who I heard did well on the entrance exam. Oh well I guess they won't learn about mana today unless they have some type of spell that's been influencing their wristband to give them more information than they should. If you get stronger class, you should be able to focus your energy into parts of your body and feel them grow. This might be easier for others but you all will get it sooner or later. Next, I'll show you how to move the energy in the air with your own. This is advanced but for demonstration purposes I will show you all once." Professor Spark spoke while staring right at Jesse.

Can she see me? Jesse thought while slowly standing up and checking his Mana Levels. I haven't been moving so it shouldn't be so bad.

[Mana: 8/50]

8?!! That's close to the spell coming undone. Jesse panicked and looked around. Nobody else seemed to notice he was there.

"Feeling the mana allows you to feel distortions and at my level you can also feel others mana and their presence." Professor Spark said this while slowly taking a deep breath and pulling her arms back she threw a punch at the air sending a gust of wind past everyone's face you could hear the shockwaves from her punch and when everyone looked toward a particular part of the class a medium sized hole could be seen in the wall.

This hole was directly next to Jesse's face and left him in a cold sweat knowing that he had been found out.

"Class dismissed. With enough practice those of you wanting to master your inner energy won't have to rely on any other type of power. It's always good to have both though" she said smiling as all the students began to walk out. Last being Victoria who glanced over at the hole on the wall before continuing out.

Can she see me too? This isn't right or maybe she just felt something off. I should be careful of her more than I thought. Jesse said getting up and walking towards the door.

"Oh, so you come in late and now think you can just leave. Where are you in such a rush to go?"
