Xia Liyan watched them with narrowed eyes, her arms folded tightly.
"They look like an actual trio," she whispered to Tang Mingze, sitting beside her in a low voice so that no one could hear her.
Tang Mingze smirked. "All the better to break them apart."
Xia Lihua looked up from her notebook at Tang Mingze, brow slightly arched. "Did you just say something?"
Xia Liyan was quick to reply. "Tang Mingze was just talking to me about how he couldn't learn any of the instruments. He's sulking about it." She laughed lightly, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "And you shouldn't mind me either, sister. You know I know nothing about music."
Xia Lihua narrowed her eyes. Sulking?She glanced over at Tang Mingze. He was lounging back lazily like he hadn't a care in the world. He looked far from sulky—or regretful. In fact, he looked like he didn't even want to be here.
And Xia Liyan... why is she suddenly being so accommodating? Xia Lihua wondered, unease creeping into her mind.
