Chapter 1418 - Lunala

After hearing Yuga's request, Solgaleo said in surprise, "Perhaps I have seen the human you're talking about."

"Really?"

Yuga and his companions were all very happy.

It turned out that the space where Solgaleo had seen a human was the Ultra Space where Necrozma resided.

According to Solgaleo's account, many years ago, Necrozma was not like how it is now. It was a very benevolent being that brought light to the entire Ultra World—a great and noble existence.

Back then, Necrozma was affectionately called the "Radiant Deity" by everyone.

However, something changed in it later. A group of humans stole its radiance and sealed it away, but no one knew exactly where it had been sealed.

Solgaleo wasn't clear on the details of this incident because it hadn't been present at the time.

But not long ago, Necrozma broke free from its seal and escaped. However, the Necrozma that emerged was completely different from the one before—it had become extremely violent and aggressive. The moment it escaped, it absorbed all the light (or rather, the Ultra Aura) of the Ultra Space it was in, turning that space into a dead zone.

Solgaleo just happened to be passing by and didn't expect Necrozma to target it and relentlessly pursue it, leading to the scene that Yuga and the others had witnessed.

Although Necrozma, having lost its radiance, looked vastly different from when it was once the Radiant Deity, Solgaleo was very familiar with its aura and recognized its identity almost at a glance.

While being chased by Necrozma, Solgaleo had accidentally caught a glimpse of traces of a human.

After listening to Solgaleo's account, Yuga asked in astonishment, "You're saying that Necrozma was once harmed by humans? Are there still other humans in the Ultra World?"

Solgaleo replied, "A long time ago, there were indeed humans living in the Ultra World, but they all disappeared later."

Disappeared… Yuga grew even more puzzled. "Then why did they take away Necrozma's power?"

Solgaleo shook its head, indicating that it didn't know. Although it once had a good relationship with the Radiant Deity, they lived in different Ultra Spaces and didn't communicate frequently. All it knew was that the Radiant Deity had taken in a group of humans to live with it.

The next time it heard news about the Radiant Deity was when it learned the deity had been sealed, and that group of humans had vanished without a trace.

Seeing that Solgaleo wasn't too clear either, Yuga gave up on asking further.

"Then, could I ask you to take us to the space where Necrozma is?"

"Of course I can!" Solgaleo replied.

If it were alone, it would be impossible to return there now. Otherwise, if it encountered Necrozma again, escaping would be out of the question.

But with Yuga by its side, things were different.

Necrozma was extremely dangerous now. If left unchecked, it might devour the light (Ultra Aura) of the entire Ultra World. By then, all Ultra Spaces might face destruction.

With Yuga's help, Solgaleo thought that if they could capture Necrozma, uncover what had caused its change, and find a way to restore it, that would be the best outcome.

"However…" Solgaleo looked at the Cosmoem beside Yuga and said, "If this little one can evolve, it will be much safer for us to go there."

Yuga's heart trembled at those words. "Could it be… you have a way?"

Solgaleo nodded and said, "I can help you, but you must agree to help me with something as well."

Yuga said, "Please tell me first."

Solgaleo got straight to the point: "I want to ask you to join me in suppressing Necrozma!"

Yuga immediately understood Solgaleo's reasoning. This would not only help them find a way to return Necrozma to its original self, but also prevent it from continuing its rampage and threatening the entire Ultra World.

"Alright, I promise you!" Yuga agreed after thinking it over for a while.

Upon hearing this, Solgaleo happily nodded.

"Then there's no time to waste. Come with me."

Solgaleo slowly stood up and walked to the center of the plaza, right between the statues of Solgaleo and Lunala. There, it lightly stepped on a circular pattern on the ground. Immediately, a high platform resembling an altar began to rise slowly.

As the platform rose, the entire plaza's patterns started to rotate. Soon after, silver lines began spreading out from the platform, gradually connecting with the designs across the plaza, transmitting the silver light throughout the entire area.

The silver light appeared to be the key to activating these patterns. When it spread over the whole plaza, the designs were triggered and brought to life.

After doing all of this, Solgaleo looked at Cosmoem. Cosmoem didn't even need any instruction—it floated over on its own and gently landed on the high platform.

The moment Cosmoem settled in place, the silver lines on the platform crawled up onto its body. Cosmoem instinctively closed its eyes.

The silver glow reflected beautifully off Cosmoem's golden shell, creating a unique aesthetic while also emanating a mysterious wave of energy outward.

The silver lines continued to flow across the plaza. At that moment, the statues of the Ultra Beasts began to move rapidly. In no time, they had encircled the high platform in a circular formation.

With a resonant hum, all of the Ultra Beast statues began to emit multicolored light from their heads. The lights transformed into flowing streams of energy, all converging on Cosmoem.

Cosmoem seemed to become a bottomless pit, continuously absorbing the energy—or rather, the ultra-dimensional energy field—emanating from the statues.

These Ultra Beast statues had the function of storing ultra-dimensional energy. The last time they were used was during Solgaleo's evolution. Countless years had passed since then, and immense energy had accumulated once again within them.

As time went on, the aura surrounding Cosmoem grew stronger and stronger, until the phantom image of a massive Lunala began to take shape, slowly appearing.

"Caw~"

A sharp, high-pitched cry rang out, and a surging wave of energy burst forth from the phantom Lunala, spreading outward and nearly knocking Yuga and his companions off their feet.

"This… this is Lunala!"

One of the Trainers stared at the phantom in shock, exclaiming in disbelief. He never imagined that the mysterious Ultra Beast following Mr. Shimizu was actually the pre-evolution form of the mythical Lunala from the Alola region.

Was he dreaming? He had just seen Solgaleo, and now Lunala had appeared!

After releasing a cry, the phantom of Lunala transformed into a dazzling burst of rainbow-colored light that merged into Cosmoem's body. Immediately afterward, Cosmoem's body became completely enveloped in multicolored brilliance.

Within the light, Cosmoem's form continued to grow taller and larger, until two golden blades pierced through the light. A pair of dark, shadowy wings slowly spread open from within.

"Caw~"

A soft cry echoed out. In an instant, the rainbow light exploded outward, revealing the fully evolved Lunala atop the high platform. It raised its head toward the sky, its gold-trimmed wings gently fluttering, exuding an incomparably powerful aura.

Lunala (Directional Mutation)

Type: Psychic, Ghost

Ability: Phantom Guard

Gender: None

Potential: Unknown

Level: Unknown

Moves: Moongeist Beam, Cosmic Power, Hypnosis, Teleport, Confusion, Night Shade, Confuse Ray, Air Slash, Shadow Ball, Moonlight, Dream Eater, Dark Pulse, Magic Coat, Moonblast, Phantom Force, Wide Guard, Hyper Beam, Calm Mind, Psychic, Roar, Hidden Power, Roost, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Return, Shadow Ball, Aerial Ace, Psychic Terrain, Double Team, Will-O-Wisp, Shadow Claw, Trick Room, Dazzling Gleam, Tailwind.

After evolving, Lunala's data underwent tremendous changes. Originally, it only knew Teleport and Cosmic Power, but in an instant, it had learned a vast number of moves. It was unclear whether this was because it had spent too much time with Yuga and been subtly influenced by the other Pokémon around him.

"Luu~"

The newly evolved Lunala was extremely excited. With a gentle flap of its wings, it steadily rose into the air, circling above Yuga's head again and again, as if expressing its joy.

After flying in the sky for a while, Lunala landed beside Yuga.

"Congratulations, Lunala!" Yuga looked up and congratulated it.

Lunala was very tall—when standing upright, it was nearly four meters in height. The one-meter-eighty-something Yuga had to raise his head just to speak to it.

"Luu~"

Lunala slowly lowered its head and gently nuzzled Yuga's ear with its cheek, sharing its happiness with him.

Yuga reached up to stroke Lunala's lower jaw. Its smooth jaw had a strangely unique texture. Under Yuga's touch, Lunala let out a soft "hoo hoo" sound from its throat.

After this moment of affectionate bonding between trainer and Pokémon, Solgaleo stepped forward and said, "Congratulations on your successful evolution. We can depart now!"

"Alright!" Yuga nodded, then turned and said to his companions, "Get ready, we're setting off!"

"Yes." "Yes~" "Yes!"

His companions, still in shock from Lunala's evolution, responded in scattered agreement upon hearing Yuga's voice.

Solgaleo was the first to ascend into the sky. A beam of light shot from its forehead, and an Ultra Wormhole opened in the sky, radiating its distinctive seven-colored light.

Yuga's companions all mounted their flying partners and headed toward the Ultra Wormhole that Solgaleo had opened.

At this moment, Lunala lowered its body and softly called out to Yuga.

"You want to carry me?" Yuga, just about to release Dragonite, asked in surprise.

"Luu~ Luu~" Lunala nodded, squinting its eyes.

"Alright then."

Yuga smiled and returned Dragonite's Poké Ball to his belt. With Lunala being four meters tall, there was no problem using it as a mount.

Two to three hours after Yuga and his group left this Ultra Space, a Team Rocket aircraft slowly descended onto the mountaintop.

Giovanni stepped out of the aircraft and looked at the square in front of him, his eyes filled with awe.

"Boss, Shimizu Yuga is no longer in this space. He must have used some method to leave," a middle-aged man reminded him.

"Can we track him?" Giovanni asked.

"Don't worry. As long as that tracker is still in place, even if they've gone to a different Ultra Space, we can find them."

The middle-aged man had great confidence in his invention. If only the invention had been completed before Musashi and her team departed, they wouldn't be in such a troublesome situation now.

Giovanni said nothing. He silently absorbed the powerful residual energy lingering here, falling deep into thought: Shimizu Yuga was becoming stronger and stronger.

After thinking for a long time, Giovanni finally decided to abandon this operation's objective of targeting Shimizu Yuga. After all, it simply wasn't worth it. Even if they did go after him, there was no guarantee they could do anything to him—and they might even provoke a counterattack, which could lead to mission failure.

He had too many other matters to handle and truly didn't have the time to engage in head-to-head conflict with a single person like Shimizu Yuga. Compared to his grand plans, what did a personal grudge against one individual matter?

Moreover, before coming here, he had already made other arrangements. If they succeeded, it could be considered a lesson for Yuga Shimizu—so he wouldn't keep clinging to Team Rocket and refusing to let go.

"Let's go. It's time for us to set off!" Giovanni finally said after a long while.

"Yes!" The middle-aged man quickly followed Giovanni and boarded the aircraft.

After the two of them boarded the aircraft, it slowly rose into the air, and a cannon barrel gradually extended from it.

"Target locked, fire!" Inside the aircraft, the middle-aged man said to a Team Rocket member seated next to him.

"Yes!" The Team Rocket member responded, pressing a button in his hand. Outside, the cannon barrel fired a laser beam.

As the laser was fired, ripples appeared in the air, and an Ultra Wormhole slowly emerged.

Seeing the Ultra Wormhole on the screen, the middle-aged man excitedly said to Giovanni, "Mr. Giovanni, it worked!"

Giovanni nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. Let's move out!"

"Move out!"

Following the middle-aged man's order, Team Rocket's aircraft slowly entered the Ultra Wormhole.

On Yuga's side, they passed through the Ultra Space and arrived at another location, but what entered their eyes was a scene of desolation.

The earth was cracked, yellow sand danced in the wind, and not to mention Ultra Beasts, there wasn't even a single blade of grass to be seen. The sky was also gray and dark, like the end of the world.

"This is the space ravaged by Necrozma," Solgaleo said with a sorrowful tone.

Yuga asked, "This place has already turned into this… Could Necrozma still possibly be here?"

Solgaleo shook its head and said, "I don't know either. All we can do is try our luck."

At that moment, one of Yuga's companions excitedly shouted, "Mr. Shimizu, the communicator has located Ms. Phoebe's position!"

"Really?"

Upon hearing that, Yuga quickly took out his own communicator. After switching it on, a red light spot representing Phoebe indeed lit up.

"Then let's hurry and go find Phoebe," Yuga said to his companions, then turned to Solgaleo, "Let's go find my companion first—maybe she has some news about Necrozma."

"No problem."

Solgaleo nodded in agreement. It understood that matters regarding Necrozma couldn't be rushed. Rather than aimlessly searching like a headless fly, it would be better to gather some information first.
