Hey guys! It's me, sorry for the late post, I wanted to get to 2k words but only managed 1k because of finding the motivation to write. It's a lot easier to write my Tron fanfic because its based in reality but, then again what do I know.
This chapter was supposed to go out yesterday morning, so again, sorry for the late post. So, how about this? If we can get to 200Power Stones, I'll post a bonus chapter this week. Sound fair to you guys?
Anyway, enough rambling without further ado. I've heard the cries of my people! I give you this new chapter to quench thy thirst!

Helga's POV
Waking up in bed, my first thoughts were about Kaarik. It's been days since he disappeared. No one knows where he is or where he went. He was just gone. It felt like a sudden weight was pressing down on me.
His parents are not the same as before, either. They tried reassuring me, saying they were fine, but they were really just trying to reassure themselves. They told me that Kaarik was strong and wouldn't have done this without a reason.
They said we just needed to be patient and wait for him to return safely. They seemed unaffected by the whole situation. Still, I could tell from the look in their eyes, however brief, that they were just as worried as I was.
I spent hours gathering as much information as I could about his whereabouts. The only thing I found out was that the last person to see him was Astrid, and from what she told me, he was acting a bit out of character. Well, as out of character as someone like him can get.
Sitting up, my thoughts began shifting from worry to anger. How could he just leave like that? I knew he probably had a plan somewhere in that thick skull of his, but to just leave?
'A note. That's all he left… was a damn note.' I growled in frustration as I got up from my bed.
Quickly putting on some clothes, I headed downstairs before stopping in front of my father. He had dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep.
Looking for the dragon's nest has taken its toll on him, even more now that he sent out search parties to look for Kaarik. His disappearance hit my father just like the rest of us. He was like a son to him, but now he was gone.
"Still no word?" An empty question. I already knew the answer.
Silence was the reply my father gave me. Sighing heavily, he slid a hand down his face before looking up at me.
"Listen, Helga… Kaarik has been missing for days. I've sent ships out to search for him, and yet they've found nothing. The dragons are wearing us down, even as we search for their nest."
I didn't like where this conversation was heading.
"I'm going to call off the search-"
"WHAT?! How could you-!"
"You didn't let me finish." He said, sighing again. "I'm calling it off… just until we can find and destroy the dragon's nest."
"Excuses…" Clenching my fists tightly, I headed toward the door.
"Helga-"
I didn't want to hear another word from him. Before he could even properly call out to me, I was already out the door before he could say anything more.

'Maybe I was too harsh on Dad. It's not his fault he couldn't find Kaarik…' I thought as I looked back on the conversation with my father.
Groaning, I quickly pushed it aside. It put me in a sour mood every time I thought about it. Walking through the village, I headed toward the arena. When I entered, I heard people grunting and the sound of metal scraping.
When everyone finally noticed me, they stopped everything. I said nothing as I turned to a weapon rack and picked a suitable weapon to join the training session. After joining the rest of the teens, Gobber walked over to me with a concerned look.
"Are you alright, Helga? You haven't been your usual self since… well, ya know."
"No, Gobber. I don't know. And I would appreciate it if you could drop the subject." I stated firmly.
Hearing my tone caused him to sigh and back off for now. After that, he went right back to ordering us around. He drilled us on dragon-hunting methods and all sorts of weapons training.
It wasn't even an hour before everyone was exhausted from training. Gobber, however, didn't seem too surprised by this and only increased the intensity of the training.
This was going to be a long day.

"Ugh, my whole body aches…" I stretched as I walked through the forest.
Training lasted half the day, and it was brutal, though necessary. But now, I had to get away from everyone to think for a bit. So, I started heading to the cove.
I'm sure the Nightfury was doing fine, though lately I developed a routine of visiting and bringing it fish over the past few days. Getting it to trust me was harder than it should have been, especially when it noticed I carried a few daggers.
It was much smarter than I thought. It literally gestured for me to get rid of my weapons. However, I didn't trust it any more than it trusted me. Eventually, we began trusting one another a bit more after I offered the dragon fish each time and made it clear that I wasn't a threat.
Sighing, I kept walking through the forest, taking in the scenery to distract myself. When I finally reached the cove, I casually strolled into the clearing and waited.
"Come on out! I know you're there!" Hearing a thudding behind me, I turned and saw the Nightfury standing there as usual.
"Brought you some more fish." I told it as it patiently waited for the fish I had in my hands.
Tossing the fish into the air, I watched as the dragon caught it in its mouth and quickly devoured the whole thing. Honestly, I could never get over seeing it do that. I found it somewhat fascinating to watch a dragon eat so close up without being attacked.
"Hmm, you need a name. I obviously can't keep calling you by your species name." I looked at it, thinking about what to call it.
'Darkness? No. Blacky? No, that's stupid. Shadow? Ugh, these names suck…' I thought hard about names before settling on the simplest one I could come up with.
"How about Toothless?" I turned to see the Nightfury's reaction, and it seemed to nod its head in approval. "Alright then, Toothless, I look forward to your partnership."
