Mercy stumbled back, her hand gripping the edge of the chair as her heart pounded violently in her chest.
Benjamin turned his head back to her with measured venom. "Mercy... your turn is coming. And soon."
Then back to Shelly, his voice dipped into a deadly calm.
"And if you ever try something like that again... I will bury you alive. Mark my words."
The room fell into suffocating silence, and for a moment, not even the walls dared breathe.
