Later that day, Joseph, Frank, and Nick went looking for a duel for each of them, hoping they could make it to the finals. Frank said, "I wonder who we'll duel next." While Joseph, Frank, and Nick were looking for a duel, they saw one about to start, so they hurried through the crowd and saw it was Clyde vs. Bobby Yiper. Clyde had 13 coins and Bobby had 19. Clyde said, "Let's make this duel interesting. I'll put up five coins and you'll put up 11. The winner goes to the finals." Bobby said, "I'll agree. But since I'm betting over twice as many coins as you, you'll give me five coins and your best card if I win." Clyde said, "Agreed." Both Clyde and Bobby started their Duel Disks, and their Life Points began at 8000. While the duel was going on, Joseph, Frank, and Nick watched them and cheered for Clyde on the sidelines.
Clyde drew Monster Reborn, Elemental Hero Sparkman, Spark Blaster, Negate Attack, and Elemental Hero Bubbleman. Bobby drew Tom Thumb, Fortune Chariot, Nibelung's Ring, Water of Life, and Magical Trick Mirror. Bobby said, "I'll start." Bobby drew Negate Attack from his deck and said, "I lay two cards face down. And I'll play one card in defense mode to end my turn." Clyde said, "Guess that's one way to start a duel." Clyde drew Elemental Hero Neos from his deck and said, "I summon Elemental Hero Sparkman (1600/1400) in Attack Mode, and I'll have him attack your face-down card." Bobby said, "I activate my first face-down card. Negate Attack. And as said in the name, it negates your attack." Clyde said, "Clever. I'll end my turn with a face-down card."
Bobby drew Hexe Trude from his deck and said, "I'll sacrifice my defense card and summon Fortune Chariot (1000/2000) in defense mode. That ends my turn." Clyde drew Fusion Recovery from his deck and said, "I play Spark Blaster and equip it to my Sparkman. Now I'll use it on your chariot and change it to attack mode. Now, Sparkman, destroy his Fortune Chariot with static shockwave." Elemental Hero Sparkman then destroyed Fortune Chariot, and Bobby lost 600 Life Points, bringing him down to 7400. Joseph said, "Alright, go, Clyde." Clyde looked at who was cheering for him and saw it was Joseph and his friends. Clyde said, "Joseph?" Bobby said, "Wait, Joseph? As in the Joseph who defeated you twice." Clyde said, "I'll get my chance to beat him. Now, if you don't mind, I believe it's your turn." Bobby said, "Fine." Bobby drew Kuriboh from his deck and said, "I pass. There's nothing I can do this turn." Clyde said, "If this is all you've got, you're going to lose."
Clyde drew Elemental Hero Clayman from his deck and said, "Perfect." Bobby heard Clyde and wondered what Clyde had drawn. Clyde said, "Elemental Hero Clayman (800/2000), rise." Elemental Hero Clayman appeared on the field next to Sparkman, and Bobby wondered what Clyde was up to. Clyde said, "Now, attack him directly." Elemental Hero Clayman attacked Bobby directly, and he lost 800 Life Points, bringing his total to 6600. Clyde said, "Elemental Hero Sparkman, it's your turn to attack." Elemental Hero Sparkman then tried to electrify Bobby. Bobby said, "I'll discard my Kuriboh (300/200) and reduce your Sparkman's attack to 0." Elemental Hero Sparkman then destroyed Kuriboh, and his attack did not affect Bobby. Clyde said, "Fine. I'll end my turn." Bobby drew Gryphon's Feather Duster and said, "I play Water of Life. Since I have no monsters in play, I can summon a monster from my graveyard in Attack Mode, and I choose my Fortune Chariot (1000/2000). Now I'll attack your Clayman." Clyde said, "I'll activate my trap, Negate Attack, just like you used on me. So now your attack is negated." Bobby said, "I end my turn."
Clyde drew Fusion Gate from his deck and said, "Perfect." Bobby said, "You said that last turn. What makes you think this turn will be any different?" Joseph said, "Guess we'll find out." Clyde said, "I play the field spell: Fusion Gate. Now I can summon Fusion Monsters without needing a Polymerization card. Now, I'll activate Spark Blaster two more times on your chariot. First, I'll switch it into defense mode, and then I'll switch it back into attack mode. Now my Spark Blaster goes to the graveyard. Now I'll activate Fusion Gate and fuse Elemental Hero Sparkman and Clayman to form Elemental Hero Thunder Giant (2400/1500). Now I'll discard 1 card to activate my Thunder Giant's special ability. He can automatically destroy any monster whose original attack points are less than his own. And since your chariot is much weaker than my Thunder Giant, it's automatically destroyed. Now I'll place one card face down on the field and I'll activate the spell card, Monster Reborn, and bring back my Elemental Hero Neos (2500/2000)." Bobby said, "But how? I never sent your Neos to the graveyard." Clyde said, "But I did when I activated my Thunder Giant's special ability. And now I'll activate my duel armor and fuse with him." Clyde then activated his duel armor and became Elemental Hero Neos. Clyde said, "I'm not finished just yet. Now that it's the only card in my hand, I can automatically summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman (800/1200) from my hand. And since I special summoned him, I get to draw two new cards from my deck." Clyde drew Elemental Hero Burstinatrix and De-Fusion from his deck and said, "Now I summon Elemental Hero Burstinatrix (1200/800) in Attack Mode."
Nick said, "Now he has enough power to take out Bobby's Life Points." Clyde said, "Ok, Bubbleman, attack Bobby directly!" Elemental Hero Bubbleman attacked Bobby directly, and he lost 800 Life Points, bringing him down to 5800. Clyde said, "Elemental Hero Thunder Giant, it's your turn to attack!" Elemental Hero Thunder Giant then attacked Bobby directly, and he lost 2400 Life Points, bringing him down to 3400. Clyde said, "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix, fire at him." Elemental Hero Burstinatrix fired a fireball at Bobby, and he lost 1200 Life Points, bringing him down to 2200. Clyde said, "Now I'll deliver the final blow, attack you directly, and finish this." Clyde then attacked Bobby directly, and he lost 2500 Life Points, bringing him down to 0. Once he won the duel, Clyde's armor disappeared, and he saw Bobby fall to the ground. Clyde then took 11 of Bobby's coins, giving him a total of 24, making him a finalist. Joseph said, "Wow, Clyde's going to the finals." Clyde said, "Was there any doubt?" After his duel, Clyde left, along with Joseph, Frank, and Nick, who also hoped to make it to the finals.
