Richard Parker would be staring at the bars that held behind it an unclear image and visage most ugly.
Kat was sitting on her bed in her cell. Looking at Richard, who was looking back at her with his hands in his pockets. He fixed his glasses.
"Tell me doc, am I going crazy?" Kat asked with a chuckle in her voice. Richard just continued to look at her with no words to share.
"You know, when I was a little girl, I once had a bird called Richard. He didn't mind, but he felt like it. He belonged to some prune named Keomi. We didn't get along so well, so whenever I could get the chance, I would sneak into her room and watch her bird for her, sometimes when she was asleep." Kat said as she kicked her feet back and forth. Richard continued to just watch.
"One day though, she ended up getting adopted. It was going to take a day to get all of her stuff together. She was going to take Richard with her.
...So I ate him." Kat said, Richard's face slightly changed as she reached the cruel part of the story.
"Theres that face. Keheheheha!" Kat laughed, Richard pushed up his glasses. "I've never seen anyone so proud of being different, and yet detest those that are at the same time." Richard thought.
"I can tell you what it was like if you want." Kat said.
"That won't be nec-"
"He tasted like a stiff boney chicken. I could feel him wiggling in my mouth as my teeth broke through his beak. I could feel as his wings flapping against my teeth...he screamed. He stank of confusion, but I think deep down he liked that I was eating him. Now we'll be together forever. Just like all my other friends." Kat smirked.
"...Who is the white rabbit?" Richard asked as he folded his arms. Some of the other officers and detectives looked at him and back to Kat. Kat simply smirked as she then got up and began to walk towards the bars...until the chains on her hands then kept her at a reasonable distance.
"You don't know?" Kat smiled as she asked Richard. Richard thought to himself, visions of a small red book sitting on an empty bed, the window in the room left open as the wind was heard rustling in the distance. "I wouldn't be asking if I did." Richard said.
"No, your asking because you don't know if you believe it." Kat laughed. Richard sighed as he then tapped on his arm.
"Alright, well if thats all your going to say is just horror stories and circular nonsense. Then I'll leave you to your cell." Richard said as he then turned and began to walk away.
"Your more boring than Brandon ya'know...more stupid too." Kat said with a low and maliciously joyful tone. Richard turned his head back to Kat who was smiling widely at him.
"Why go through all this trouble for him? Its not like the white rabbit cares about you, and your supposed to be a wild card. A true one...yet here you are. Bending to someone else's will." Richard said.
"I BEND TO NO ONE!" Kat screamed, all the officers slightly stepped back. "...Is that right?" Richard asked.
"Hehehe, I see, you trying to use some kind of weird psychological tricks on me huh doc? Well I got news for you. I'm going to tell you right now exactly who your looking for." Kat said with a wide sadistic smile. Richard then turned back to her completely and stared.
"Listen to this, the thing your looking for is smoke. It is incapable of being caught by your tiny hands. It has eyes that will see you and I mean, see you. It enters your mind, plays its game and when its done with you. You'll die, but not by it's own hands. No, by your own, although you wouldn't know it.
It is going to drown you, when I stare into it's eyes I saw true freedom. Someone free from rules and the disgusting fundamentals muddles of mankind, oh yes, I'm seeing it once again." Kat said, her voice turning more raspy and stuttering a few times. The officers behind Richard looked at one another with confusion and a hint of...fear before looking back to her.
"I watched as it ripped the very thoughts and the very desires from others, and fed back to them their futures on a silver platter. But the serving was never meant to satisfy them though, just to keep those little fishies close by. Begging for more." Kat said. Richard's eyes widened as the varied descriptions began to fill his mental complex, revealing a image-
"Why would she lie? Why...no...she has no reason to. Whats to gain from it afterall. So then-
Just who or what the hell kind of monster is she describing?" Richard thought as he kept listening to Kat as his mind eventual put the view he saw in his mind together. Showing him a massive set of papers, all with the identities of every living person, and on top of them stood a figure with a halo of an unknown texture. This image was-
"And when they've grown dependent and expect to see there occasional rations for the last time. This time their bones being so brittle and broken from the abuse, it is it that deals the finishing blow. But from no gun or fist does it come...its the food that kills them in the end. And it'll be what kills you.
And I can't wait to watch you SCREAM, BLEED, and RUN as you come face to face with it. It is the ultimate monster, the last real predator. It dances as the alpha, and the omega.
It is...a Machine. HeheheheKAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!" Kat laughed loudly as all the officers looked at her with disbelief in their eyes.
It was God.
"..." Richard didn't respond and just looked back to the other officers before looking back to Kat once again.
"Thanks..." Richard said as he then walked away, with the other officers watching him and eventually returning to their tasks as well.
Elsewhere, Kibe would be at his job at Waun's shop. He had a rather average day, helping people who needed it and of course checking people out at the register counter. Eventually the time would get around to 4pm. Kibe was standing behind the register sweeping and as he did his eyes lingered on the ground where he swept up the dirt and dust.
"Is this the chaos. The one to come. I see it now more than ever before, or perhaps it was always here and I yet to know it. But now that I sit in front of it. With the perfect reflections of those who would stand in my way. I begin to ask...
Is the storm an approaching chaos? One come to cleanse the world...or one come to cleanse me from the world.
Bato has no doubt already begun to make his move. He can't stand the thought of me not being without concern or fear, and he has sure made it so. I can only imagine what he hopes to gain with what hes done.
Tomorow is the first day of the IPOW tryouts. A speech will be given to the student body, one that will need to be given to convince them that I am the right pick to represent Sawa High.
Mmmm...should I bake something? Rice cookies maybe." Kibe thought as he heard the sound of the door to the store opening. His eye briefly looked over to see a group of 4 boys come into the store. Not too younger than him. He hadn't see their faces in his school before.
"Their demeanor is sluggish, but held with pride. They must be from Takama University. Its not too late nor early in the day for some midday recollecting.
...Lets see." Kibe thought.
"Welcome In!" Kibe said greeting them as he waved, but they didn't wave nor acknowledge him. Kibe's eyes would follow them as they walked around the store. He took notice that they had a bag with them that wasn't the school ones they had.
"Thieves no doubt. I can see the resting of their arms and hands as they pass by the aisles. This isn't my problem. People lose their lives trying to stop idiots like these. Best to just let them do as they wish. Besides...I'm not looking to cause any scenes while at work." Kibe thought as he eye then looked up to see his upper right and saw just one camera in the store.
"It can see almost everything...as can I." Kibe thought. Thats when the boys would arrive at the counter a place a few things down. "Hey man hows it going? Sorry I didn't say anything, was on the phone with my girl. You know how it is." said one of the boys. His hair was blonde and his eyes were dark brown.
"Is this all?" Kibe said gesturing to what they put on the counter. "It isn't." Kibe thought.
"Yea thats it, unless you think we'd steal from ya hehe." The blonde boy laughed as he turned to the others around him which joined in. Kibe stared at them before then beginning to check out what they had brought.
"So buddy, me and my pals were thinking about getting some work done today. You think you want to help us out?" asked the blonde boy, Kibe continued to finish checking them out.
"Hey, I'm talking to you shrimp." said the blonde boy who would grabbed Kibe by his collar. Kibe stopped and slowly to the blonde boy. "Names Tengi. You are?" asked the blonde boy.
"Kibe, Nori Kibe." said Kibe. "Heh, well, Kibe. What time do you close?" Asked Tengi.
"6." Kibe answered.
"...Thats early for a small store like this." Tengi said surprised.
"Yes I know, but it does keep thieves from barging in here and trying to steal things." Kibe said. The other boys looked at Kibe and then to Tengi.
"Well, seems its your unlucky day man. And here we were going to be all discreet and junk. Hehehe, give me what you got back there." Tengi said. Kibe just continued to stare at him, the rest of the boys looked between the two. Tengi tilted his head in confusion before grabbing kibe by both sides of his collar.
"I SAID-" however before he could get his next words out Kibe would quickly jab Tengi in the throat cutting off all circulation to his lungs and causing him to fall backwards gasping for air. "HOLY SHIT! WHAT DID YOU DO!?" shouted one of the boys as he grabbed Tengi.
"Tengi." Kibe said, Tengi gasped as tears rushed down his face. He was desperately gasping for air, yet for some reason and he didn't know why. He looked at Kibe.
"Never come back. Or you won't be leaving next time." Kibe said, his voice as cold as ever. It was only after a few moments that Tengi would then be able to breath again. He coughed heavily before then looking to Kibe with surreal fear and sprinting out of the store nearly stumbling over himself. The other boys then looked back at Kibe and where Tengi ran before following him.
Kibe just watched them before then hearing his phone ring. He looked to it and saw here was no caller ID. He raised an eyebrow before then answering the phone.
"Greetings." Kibe said.
"Likewise." Bato said on the other side. "You calling to wish me luck tomorrow." Kibe said.
"I should, you'll need it. Look Kibe. Put this aside and I'll lessen the embarrassment of failure for you." Bato said.
"You still plan to kill me afterwards." Kibe said.
"Of cour-"
"I say you, but really you'll just have Junna do it since you aren't all that skilled in combat apparently." Kibe said.
"If your trying to manipulate me it won't work. I don't intend to make a single mistake or misstep. I have planned this out intricately. Your every step will be one I knew you would make Nori, not a single one will go unknow by me." Bato said.
"The moment you called me you had failed at not being manipulated by me." Kibe said.
"...See you tomorrow Nori." Bato said as the phone hung up, Kibe stared at it. He then looked at the items he was checking out for the boys from before.
"...Better put those back." Kibe thought.
