[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Black Manor.
...
...
Severus and Rosária continued entering the property after the Blacks' house-elf, the creature, spoke to them briefly, saying that the lady was busy at the moment, but that they could go to the mansion, and he would inform Bellatrix.
As they approached the main entrance of the mansion, someone was coming out at that exact moment. Narcissa was heading to the garden with a book in hand and stopped, surprised, upon seeing Snape with someone else approaching.
She quickly widened her eyes upon recognizing the woman by his side.
After all, Rosária Valenstein was known throughout England for her visits and influence in the country. The entire high-ranking wizarding community knew and respected her.
Due to the power her father displayed, no one dared to mess with her or her family, considered one of the most powerful families in the world.
Narcissa approached carefully, while Rosária looked at her with a narrowed gaze.
"Young lady, Severus." Narcissa greeted, being more formal with the woman than with Severus himself, who merely shrugged at it.
Rosária just nodded.
"Anyway, I'm going to see your sister." Was all Severus said, while Narcissa nodded, already knowing that Snape trained Bellatrix regularly.
Both Narcissa and Andromeda had been surprised to learn that Snape would be training Bellatrix a few months back, and were immediately forbidden to oppose or ask anything directly of Snape by their grandmother.
Although Andromeda had stomped her feet at the time, she had no choice but to not go against Astraea's decision.
They moved on shortly after, and Rosária accompanied him as they entered the house.
"You came." Bellatrix appeared at that moment after being informed by the house-elf, at the top of the stairs.
She paused for a moment upon seeing the woman beside Snape. Her eyes narrowed, but she continued descending calmly.
"You came here to see this woman?" Rosaria asked with a hint of disdain.
"I made a promise to train her. I'm just fulfilling my part." Severus said calmly.
Rosária turned her gaze to the girl approaching as she descended the stairs.
She stopped a few meters from them, and their eyes quickly met.
'I don't like her...' Both thought at the same time, while Snape simply raised an eyebrow, noticing the hostile air forming.
"Let's move on." Said Snape in a neutral tone, ending the growing tension between the two.
Rosária took a moment, but eventually followed Snape to the training room, and Bellatrix did the same with a still somewhat twisted look toward the redhead.
The place was silent. The two remained completely quiet.
"Well... Since you're both so eager with this mood, start against each other as a warm-up." Snape shrugged as he spoke.
Bellatrix cast one last glance at Rosária before moving to the center of the room, and the half-vampire also stepped forward, ready to face her.
"What's your relationship with Snape?" Bellatrix suddenly asked.
She wasn't foolish enough not to realize who was in front of her. Even so, she couldn't help narrowing her eyes at the woman, not showing the same respect her sister Narcissa had.
"I don't think that's of any interest, is it? After all, you're just someone who cornered him into training you, through a promise." Rosária replied coldly.
Bellatrix frowned at hearing that, but Rosária continued.
"But if you must know... Snape invaded my house during the holidays. Since then, we've been going out together."
She spoke with a tone that subtly implied something more romantic.
"I'm very surprised by that... After all, Snape isn't the type who would go out with a woman like you... An old one." Bellatrix said the last part with a sarcastic smile, clearly provoking.
Rosária turned pale upon hearing that, but Bellatrix didn't care in the slightest about the redhead's reaction.
"What did you say?!" she exclaimed. "You're going to insult me like that?!"
Rosária clenched her teeth as she looked at Snape, trying to understand whether he had reacted to hearing that provocation.
Snape heard it all and remained impassive, with only a visible boredom in his gaze, wondering if it had really been a good idea to bring Rosária.
The two clearly wanted to kill each other with a single glance, and it had only been a few minutes since they met.
"You must be insane, calling me that?!" she muttered angrily, while her red eyes began to glimmer slightly.
"Who are you calling insane, old woman?" Bellatrix snarled.
"Who are you calling old?" Rosária replied, gritting her teeth, furious.
And then it began. Both started insulting each other, trading offenses for a few minutes, until the next moment, they were already casting deadly spells at one another.
Snape sighed, realizing he would have to step in before one of them actually killed the other.
They continued fighting for a while, as Snape observed with a certain fascination, changing his opinion about bringing Rosária.
He had never seen Bellatrix try so hard.
She screamed and insulted Rosária with all her fury, receiving the same back with equal intensity.
Severus only intervened when Rosária nearly cast a deadly spell at Bellatrix—after all, Bellatrix was weaker than the half-vampire.
'Come to think of it, this is becoming... interesting.' He admitted to himself, and spent the next few hours not just training with them, but analyzing and explaining each one's strengths and weaknesses, while both seemed to take that into account with the chance to strike at each other.
"If only they could become as strong as a Guardian..." That thought came in a murmur from Snape, as he watched them trading attacks and shouts.
Snape knew he needed strong people to rebuild the Order, as he didn't believe anyone had survived, even if they only had the potential to reach a mid-tier guardian.
Even if he still had to deal with the monarchs, he still couldn't help thinking about the future after dealing with them—or even having to create the Order to fight them.
At a certain moment, he saw Rosária use her super-speed to dodge a spell from Bellatrix.
She leapt toward her opponent with an agile jump.
Bellatrix spun quickly, using the Avada Kedavra with one hand, while Rosária cast a deadly spell, emitting a red lightning bolt even though it wasn't from a school of magic Snape himself had mastered.
That's when Severus decided to act.
Both cast their spells at the same time.
Snape appeared at the last second, grabbing their wrists and pushing the spells into the air, throwing them upward.
The curses flew toward the ceiling.
The Avada Kedavra left no marks, but Rosária's spell exploded part of the structure, making the entire house tremble.
"Enough." Snape said, frowning as he appeared between them with his instant proximity.
"Now save the killing for during training. Don't cast another deadly spell at each other. Otherwise, I'll stop training both of you." Snape spoke with a serious tone that left no room for discussion.
Rosária and Bellatrix looked at each other for a moment.
He released their hands, and although neither confirmed nor denied, both put away their wands, still with their eyes locked on each other like declared enemies.
Snape looked up at the ceiling and cast a Repairing Charm, while the area slowly began to rebuild itself.
The next moment, he headed outside.
His footsteps were followed by the echo of theirs coming behind, though in silence, as if competing to see who would exit first.
Upon reaching the entrance hall of the Black Mansion, Astraea Black was speaking with a man.
She was surprised to see them, wondering what had happened that made the entire mansion tremble, while she offered some excuse to her guest.
His eyes widened upon seeing the redhead alongside Snape.
Even the man was surprised to recognize the woman next to Astraea's granddaughter.
He didn't recognize the boy, but his son did.
"Snape," he murmured upon seeing Severus there.
Snape looked at them, recognizing that the two were father and son, members of the Lestrange family.
They were the reason for the creature's excuse not to inform his mistress earlier—after all, they were there negotiating business and even marriage contracts.
However, the man had been quite disappointed to discover that two of Astraea's granddaughters, excluding Narcissa (who was already engaged to Lucius Malfoy), were unavailable.
Astraea hadn't given many details about it, which was rather strange, considering the Dark Lord had asked the families to unite, in order to strengthen the blood purity ideology.
Eventually, Bellatrix left the man from the Lestrange family and approached the young man, greeting him.
Her gaze, however, turned to Rosária Valenciennes, clearly surprised to see her there despite believing Snape to be more important—thus greeting him first.
"Mr. Snape, Young Lady... I'm surprised to see you here," Astraea spoke formally.
"I saw your name in the paper, heard you became a professor at Hogwarts. I just didn't expect to find you here unannounced... Otherwise, I would have prepared better."
Despite appearing to be a nineteen-year-old girl, Rosária was more than three times Astraea's age.
"It's all right, Lady Black. I'm just a little disappointed with the Black family," she replied simply.
Astraea frowned, while Bellatrix clicked her tongue, annoyed by the comment.
"Rosária, leave what happened in training inside the practice area. Don't take it personally or bring it outside, understood?" Snape said in a serious tone to Rosária, who was a bit surprised but nodded, obviously not going against Snape.
"Of course, you're right.
Well... it was a pleasure seeing you, Lady Black," Rosária said in a softer tone, while Astraea couldn't help but be surprised by the control Snape seemed to have over the half-vampire.
She appeared more submissive to him than expected, which made Astraea wonder what their relationship really was.
If Regulus, her grandson, had returned from Hogwarts, he would certainly be able to tell...
Since there were rumors that Snape and the professor were lovers, leaving Astraea stunned despite closely observing the interaction between the two.
"Young Lady, it's good to find you here as well. I'm very surprised, as Lady Astraea hadn't mentioned anything," said the older man from the Lestrange family, approaching Rosária.
But she didn't care much and simply nodded without exchanging a word.
"Let's go to Hogwarts," Snape said simply, as he walked ahead, ignoring the man and his son.
He had already beaten the boy a few times the previous year, and could certainly see the caution in the boy's eyes.
Rosária followed him without caring about noble family etiquette at that moment—even though she'd been trained for it—preferring instead to simply accompany Snape outside.
Astraea and Lord Lestrange were quite at a loss watching Rosária leave by his side.
Bellatrix, in turn, seemed in a foul mood, arms crossed.
She noticed the Lestrange boy looking at her, curious, as this meeting had been an attempt by Astraea to marry Bellatrix to his son, after the engagement with the Nott family had been called off.
"What are you looking at, idiot?" Bellatrix growled at the boy, before turning and heading back to her room.
Astraea sighed.
Now she just needed to find a way to send her guests away, ignoring the questions that would certainly arise about what had happened there.
She definitely hadn't expected them to find Snape outside of Hogwarts on a Sunday... let alone the daughter of Dracula.
That would raise many questions.
