[scene : Colt is occupying the view]
It's been 8 months since we got the lab fully up and running.
But… since we were living so peacefully, Luna decided to help Luc, again.
[The view expands to show Colt and Luna (elf form) with the Starleas in their mansion]
Aaand... that's why we're here.
Victor : "So, you're here to help Luc learn to do what his grandfather did."
Luna [with a bright smile] : "Yes"
Well, I was bored anyway… so this seems like a good way to kill time.
Violet : "No one knows how he did it, how can you?"
Luna [instantly replies, in a confident, believing tone] : "Colt knows everything."
*Colt slightly blushes, although he's trying to keep his reactions in check*
Colt : "Yeah, I can figure it out. We'll just try a few things and it'll work out."
Ellie : "If you say so."
[scene : Colt, Luna(human form) and the siblings are at the abandoned port. Colt is fixing a boat with items from his item box, wood, nails…]
Luna [slightly pouty] : "I thought they'd learned to stop doubting you by now."
Colt : "Us, I wouldn't have made it this far without you."
Luc : "Sorry."
Colt : "Nothing for you to apologize for it's natural. It's done."
Lea : "What now?"
Colt : "Now, Luc tries to create a pillar of water."
Luc : "But, no one knows how he did it! The way people describe it isn't helping and I'm not strong enough, I-"
Colt : "JUST. Create the pillar."
*Luc tries using his magic, the water rises vertically, just rising, no spinning, no other movement*
*The pillar stands about three meters tall*
Colt : "Not bad, is that all you've got?"
Luc : "I can make it taller… now what?"
Colt [mischievous grin] : "It was Luna's idea, I just put you on the first step."
It'll be good for her to figure it out on her own, she has the brain and knowledge to pull it off.
And, I'll get a few good laughs.
Luc : "You're not saying anything?"
Colt : "How can you be responsible for a domain if you expect everything to be handed to you? Besides, Luna will help."
*Walks a few steps on the beach, turns to face them, sits down*
Colt [smiling] : "Keep going."
Luna [giving Colt a blank stare] : "You're doing this now?! Really?"
Colt : "You have all you need to make it work."
Lea : [to Luna] : "What's he doing?"
Luna : "Having fun."
Lea : "WHAT?"
Luna : "He's figured it out, now he wants us to do the same."
Colt : "So?"
Luna : "We will."
*Colt smiles*
Luna [turns to Luc and Lea] : "First, we'll try using a piece of wood, see how we do with it, when we make it work, we get on the boat and try it on real fish."
Niiice, her way of thinking is improving, she's starting to break down everything into smaller steps.
Luna : "Do it again."
Luc : "But, my mana."
Luna : "Don't worry about that as long as Colt's here."
*They throw a piece of wood on the water, when Luc tries to lift it, the piece of wood always slides away*
Luc [disappointed] : "This isn't working"
Lea : "What if you try to lift the whole piece at a time instead of making a mountain-like wave? Like this."
*Lea slowly makes a water cuboid, the piece of wood is floating on top*
Not baaad.
Luc [impressed] : "Incredible... let me try."
*Luc tries it and succeeds after a few tries, difference is: he does it much faster*
*Colt suddenly appears behind the three of them*
Colt : "But the fish won't stay still, they'll resist as hard as they can, this won't work on those creatures."
*Luna is unfazed as usual, Luc and Lea back away a step or two*
Luna : "What do we do then?"
Colt : "You figure it out."
*Goes back to his spot, sits back down*
Lea : "What now?"
Luna : "We're close, we just need to keep working a little more."
Luc : "This is frustrating, why isn't he just telling us the answer?"
Luna [looks at Luc with a bit of disappointment] : "I'm beginning to see his point."
Luc : "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?"
Lea : "Calm down, brother."
Luc [heading towards Colt] : "I HAVE A LEGACY TO LIVE UP TO, PEOPLE WHO ARE COUNTING ON ME."
*Luc reaches Colt*
Luc : "Tell me how to do it."
Colt [sitting there, calm] : "No."
Luna [worried] : "Luc, stop, you don't know what you're doing."
Luc [his face red with anger] : "I KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING *to Colt* DO YOU ENJOY SEEING ME STUGGLE? IS THAT IT? DO YOU ENJOY SEEING ME FAIL?"
Colt [still sitting down] : "I enjoy seeing you try."
Luc [reaching the end of his rope] : "YOU'LL TELL ME HOW IT'S DONE NOW OR-"
*Colt uses graviol 1.5 times gravity, Luc drops to the ground, barely able to move*
Colt [in a calm, dark tone] : "Listen here, you seem to have forgotten, I, am a creature beyond anyone's control, not you or anyone else can tell me what to do."
Luna : "Colt please, he's just mad at himself."
Colt : "I won't hurt him for this, I'm just drawing a line, I get it, I hated myself too at some point, but NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE tells me what to do."
Luna : "I know, thank you."
Colt [to Luc] : "I don't give a rat's ass about your legacy*stops the spell, grabs him by the collar* you will take responsibility for this domain one day, I don't care about your dead grandfather or your sob story. You only focus on the task at hand, I'm not spoon-feeding you answers. Solve your own problems, now leave me to my game *lets go*"
*Luc backs down slowly, Colt starts to form small tornadoes with wind magic, the tornadoes suck sand and bump into each other, the tornadoes are narrow, funnel shaped*
*Luc stares at Colt for a few seconds, Lea touches his shoulder*
Lea : "Let's go brother."
*Lea helps him stand up, they walk a few steps away from Colt and Luna*
Luc [mad, his pride shattered] : "I can't believe he'd do this to me, a lot of good of a friend he is."
Luc [in a slowly rising tone] : "Who does he think he is? He doesn't know how I feel... he doesn't know what it's like to have so many people counting on you."
*Lea watches silently, letting Luc get his emotional charge out*
Luc : "He's blessed with unique powers and that's how he uses them? He doesn't know a thing about our struggles, and instead of helping he's insulted me, my grandfather, and all the hard work I've put in."
Lea : "But, brother-"
Luc : "But what?"
Lea [lowering her gaze] : "Some of what he said is true."
Luc : "What are you saying??!!"
Lea : "You're not grandfather, you're you, for all these years you were trying to become someone else, not be the person you are."
Luc : "That's what the domain needs."
Lea : "No, the domain needs a leader, not an imitation."
Luc : "An imitation? Me?"
Lea : "Yes."
*Luc stays silent for a few seconds*
Luc : "Even if what you say is true, how dare he insult our grandfather's legacy!"
Lea : "You hold grandfather in such high regards, you keep doubting yourself and doubting whether you can live up to it. You don't have to do it the way he did, your magic is unique too."
Luc : "Leave me alone."
Lea : "But-"
Luc : "Just for a bit, please."
*Lea walks away*
*Meanwhile, Colt and Luna*
Luna : "Did you have to be so cruel, he didn't mean it."
Colt : "It's not about what he said, he's trying to become someone else, not just copying the magic. If he keeps treading this path, he'll be nothing but a shell."
Luna : "Still, that was a bit too harsh."
*Colt keeps making the tornadoes*
Luna : "What are you doing?"
Colt : "Making small tornadoes."
Luna : "I can see that… why?"
Colt : "It's entertaining, the way they suck everything like that."
Luna [observing carefully] : "What do you-"
*They notice Luc coming towards them*
Luc [looking directly at Colt yet avoiding eye contact] : "I don't need your help, I'll figure it out."
*As he was passing Lea by*
Luc : "Thank you."
*Starts trying again using the piece of wood*
Colt [smiling] : "That's better."
Luna : "You're still not helping?"
Colt : "You have everything you need."
*Luna breathes out*
Luna : "I will then."
*Luna walks towards him, the wind carries Luc's voice*
Luc : "This isn't the answer, I need to suck in the fish somehow."
*Luna freezes, turns around, looks at what Colt is doing, notices the tornadoes easily sucking the sand, turns to Luc again*
*Luna says a few words to Luc, Luc manipulates the water to create a small whirlpool, sucking the wood in*
Took them long enough, now take it to the next phase.
*After a few more tries, Luc finally manages to make the whirlpool into a small spinning water tornado*
Lea [in awe] : "YOU... YOU DID IT! BROTHER, YOU DID IT!!"
Luc [looking at Lea and Luna] : "We, did it. All of us."
*A few days later*
[scene : Colt, Luna and Lea are standing on the beach, observing Luc standing on a boat in the sea]
*A huge spinning pillar of water appears*
Now that's badass.
*Three giant fish fly towards them, Colt uses "static" to stop them before impact, then spears them with earth magic*
WOW ! Guess he's still angry.
*As they watch Luc's triumphant return*
Luna : "Thank you."
Colt : "For what?"
Luna : "Helping."
Colt : "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Luna [smiling, resting her head on his shoulder] : "Of course you don't."
