Paul raised an eyebrow "By the way, since when did you become the type to convince people?"
Dorian shrugged "Maybe I'm just curious as to what's hidden here that we already faced so many troubles at the beginning"
A huge bang sounded out as it seems to be like the special forces had successfully killed the tarantula
Dorian and Paul looked at each other in surprise while Feliz just hugged his knees and drooped his head down
The next thing, the ground started trembling which made the special forces soldiers wobble as they stood on their feet
Luckily, Paul and Dorian had the boulder for support so they didn't fall while Feliz just went on his knees and held himself shakily
Three big rats came from the hole the tarantula had obstructed before and started attacking the soldiers while they responded with their guns
Dorian and Paul were astounded then Paul quickly surveyed the entire place for an escape route
Feliz who was crouching on the ground saw a small hole which seemed big enough to size if they crawled in so he pulled on Dorian's hoodie because he was the closest to him but Dorian gave him a glare which made him instantly retract his hand "What is it, Feline, don't bother me, we're in trouble"
Feliz pointed to the hole he saw and Dorian was surprised so was Paul then they immediately went through it
Paul went first in case of any danger then followed by Feliz because Dorian wanted to protect them from behind
But as Dorian crawled into the hole, his injuries opened up again and blood started trickling out
Dorian grunted but didn't tell the other two who were in front of him, he decided to bear the pain till they got out and away from the fight
They arrived at a huge open area with seven tunnels after crawling in the small hole for almost an hour and decided to rest there first before determining which path to take
When they got out of the small hole, Dorian who was the last to come out passed out after too much blood loss which made Paul panic "Ian! No no no!!"
Feliz immediately came to help as he brought out something from his jacket's inner pocket "I-i still have some herbs left over from the paste I made"
Paul collected it and mashed the herbs together then applied it on Dorian's injuries "Thanks, Feliz"
Feliz smiled wryly "It's.. um.. it's fine"
Dorian jolted awake and the pain hit him as he held his thigh and groaned "Ugh, not again!!"
Paul held Dorian as he tried to soothe him of his pain "Ian, it'll be fine"
Surprisingly, Jack, Wilson, Molly and Yilao arrived at the hotel about the same time though they hadn't informed Gaeul and Bobae yet so they decided not to bother them
Yilao wanted to rush into the hotel but the firefighters were there and didn't let her through them so Molly had to show proof to them that she was the owner of the hotel before they could leg them in
So fortunately, they had successfully curbed the fire so the firefighter captain came to them and said "Luckily there was no one in the penthouses or it could have been a tragedy"
Molly asked as Yilao tried to call the boys, Jack started pacing up and down while Wilson tried to stay calm "Anyone injured?"
The firefighter captain replied "The fire tried to spread downstairs but we got here in time to stop it though a few people got injured, it is nothing too serious and they have been attended to"
Molly sighed in relief and the firefighter captain left to go meet his crew
Yilao finally got through to one of the boys "Where are you boys!? Are you safe??"
Lane weakly replied "Abandoned wernes street"
And the line abruptly cut off then Yilao and Molly immediately left while telling Wilson and Jack to stay back
The first thing they spotted was a huge stone guy backing Lane up to a corner, he carried Lilac who was crying and Milky was on his shoulder hissing at the stone guy while his other hand which was bleeding gripped tightly onto his hammer
Yilao attacked instantly "Step away from them!"
When the stone guy could turn around, he fell into a trance with a horrified look on his face as he froze while Yilao rushed to Lane who almost collapsed
Molly looked around the place then saw a fountain and when the stone guy woke up from his trance, he wasn't able to stabilize himself and the next thing, another even bigger stone guy grabbed the smaller by its head and crushed it in an instant then crumbled into pieces
Molly wobbled a bit but stood her ground then looked at the direction the shot came from
Molly went to join Yilao, Lane and Lilac who had stopped crying because some shadow men arrived
Yilao said to Lane as they got surrounded by tens of weird people with different abilities "You'll explain what's going on after we're done with this ones"
But before Yilao and Molly could attack, Milky puked a few grenades at the shadowmen which successfully cleared three quarters of them while Yilao and Molly dealt with the rest
Lane just sat on the ground weakly as he held Lilac and caressed Milky who was standing on guard for any sudden attacks "Things are already turning this bad here, I just hope they haven't gotten to Ian and Paw yet"
Dorian tried to stand up as he said "We have to get going"
Paul stopped him "You are in no condition to be walking around right now"
Dorian stated "Nor do we have the time to sit by here idly. I heal faster than usual so I can walk now, when I'm weak, I'll let you guys know that we should take a break"
Paul pursed his lips "Are you sure?"
Dorian nodded and held Paul's hand "For some reason, I feel very unsettled but we can't go back the way we came so we have to move and get out of here to get back to Lane before Bro Jack, Sis Molly and Sis Lao get back home. Also those shadowmen are probably still out there"
Paul was shaken as his eyes widened in shock "Well looks like they got in somehow"
Dorian looked back to see five shadowmen coming towards and grunted "Ugh, I'll take care of them"
Dorian wobbly stood up while Paul protected Feliz behind him and was about to use his ability but Dorian stopped him "You're still weak, I can handle this ones"
Dorian used his psychity to lift all five them opened a portal and sent them in then turned around to the duo "See easy peasy"
Paul relaxed and was about to say something when Feliz shouted "Behind you!"
Dorian's reflexes opened a portal behind him just in time and the person disappeared but not into the portal
Paul was stunned "Shadow ability?"
Feliz said in surprise "H-he disappeared... into your shadow!"
Dorian looked down only for a knife arriving in his point of view which he stopped with his psychity
When the guy wanted to disappear back into his shadow, Feliz grabbed his neck "I'm holding him! He can't disappear now, somebody do something!"
The shadow guy struggled and used his knife to cut Feliz on his arm which made him release him but Paul got a hold of the guy with his ability which made him unable to use his shadow ability as his body was in a lot of pain that disturbed his mind greatly
Dorian brought out his knife and slashed the guy's throat then stabbed his heart to make sure he had unalived him
Paul tore part of his cloth to cover Feliz's arm who was trying hard not to shout in pain
Dorian asked Paul who looked a bit pale "You okay? You haven't used your ability consecutively like that. Didn't you say you needed at least a week's duration before using it again so you wouldn't get hurt?"
Paul shook his head "I'm fine but Feliz isn't"
Dorian looked at Feliz then at the herb paste on his leg so he wanted to try to get it off and Feliz shouted "No no! This is a small wound, I'll get better, if you remove that, you'll start bleeding then pass out again from too much blood loss"
Paul nodded "Feliz is right, we will probably find something else to use to attend to his injury"
Dorian frowned slightly "Why didn't we pack the first aid kit along?"
Paul sighed as he finished tying Feliz's arm "I don't either, maybe we thought we would just waltz in, get the whatever we came here for and salsa out"
Feliz asked "Why don't you just portal us back to the entrance?"
Dorian replied "Special forces are there, probably the police too and maybe the army included because we assaulted some policemen"
Feliz blinked his eyes severally in surprise
Dorian said as he looked at Paul "I could probably portal there and portal away if it's just me but we're three and I'm not leaving anyone behind"
Feliz pursed his lips and didn't say anything 'I bet you'd leave me behind if you had the chance"
Yanghu and Lujin were playing Mahjong while Carrie was watching while sipping tea suddenly the door was broken down and men in black rushed into the place to surround them
Before the men could say anything, Lujin opened up a shield which encompassed the trio and Carrie asked "Who are you people and how dare you barge into our house?"
One of them which seemed to be the leader grinned "Our boss has asked us to come and get you three but unfortunately he asked us to keep you alive. Surprisingly, you have powers too but it won't last for long under our attacks, Men!"
Ability users with attack based abilities attacked his shield but Lujin held on "Call the kids! Ask if they're alright"
Yanghu said as he searched for his phone in the drawer "I'll call Laolao"
Carrie took out her phone "I'll call Kelvin and Shawn, I don't want to disturb them but the situation calls for it"
Lujin held on to the shield while the leader yawned and sat on a chair "This is gonna take a while"
In the lobby which was already empty since the hotel was shut down because of the fire, Molly and Yilao shouted in unison "What!!?"
Jack was just sweating because he almost couldn't believe what came out of Lane's mouth "Lan my boy, you must be kidding, treasures? Treasure map? Shadowmen? This is hilarious, right Molly?"
Molly pursed her lips so Jack turned to Yilao who was just fuming and didn't look at him then he turned to Wilson who shrugged "Oh come on, don't tell me you believe him too"
Molly and Yilao looked at each other then wanted to say something when a shadowmen barged in and Lilac Lazer him and the guy passed out
Jack looked at his daughter in absolute shock while she giggled and held her feet "M-molly? You saw that?"
She couldn't reply in time when about twenty shadowmen rushed right in after the first one so Yilao said "Wilson, protect Jack"
Wilson nodded and got Jack behind him while Lane stood up, although his injuries had been treated, he was still weak because obviously they hadn't healed yet "I can help"
Yilao glanced at him as he stood up with his hammer in hand "Fine but don't overwork yourself"
Lilac was carried by her mother as she happily lazered the men who came close while Molly brought the six knight statues to life
Jack mumbled in surprise "So that's why she bought that many knight statues, oh my goodness my wife has a superpower"
Wilson said as he dialed a number "More like an ability but superpower works too"
One of the shadowmen slipped through and came straight for Wilson which made Jack scream "Oh no one of them is coming for us!"
Before the shadowmen could hit them with an ice spike, Wilson stared at him as his eyes turned blue "Take a breather"
The shadowmen stopped and looked around in confusion then Wilson knocked him out
Jack looked at Wilson in horror "You too!!?"
Wilson nodded "My ability is pretty much useless in a battle since I have to make eye contact and I didn't learn any fighting skills"
Jack asked "Is this how you dealt with that criminal who tried to attack the prosecutor while being in court?"
Wilson nodded and Jack was stunned "I always wondered why he turned into a dummy right before he strangled that prosecutor. Damnit, everyone else has a superpower except me"
Wilson's expression dimmed a little "The powers start to backlash on us when we overuse it"
Yilao grunted as a fireball hit her skirt then she found the assaulter and sent them into a fear trance
Molly came over "Laolao, don't overuse it, you'll fall into it again"
Yilao roundhouse kicked another one of them as she replied "My only fear is losing you guys, using it and not using it is the same now"
Three shadowmen attacked the duo at the same time but Lane quickly slowed them down and Lilac lazered them double for each
But after that, she started looking a bit weak so Molly said to her "Lala, you've done enough, rest"
And with that, Lilac slept off in Molly's arms
There were still eight more left so Lane shouted "Everyone back away, Milky's about to launch a big one
Molly and Yilao hurriedly backed off with the knights and while Lane backed away, he slowed the shadowmen down greatly so they wouldn't move to close to them
Milky puked a big grenade at them then jumped backwards to avoid the burnt of the explosion
The grenade was successful and blew them to bits and although there was a blast around the explosion, as usual Milky's grenade contained itself and shot back into the ground which the ground tremble a bit
Jack didn't even know what to feel anymore "Even the cat has an ability?!"
Yilao fell onto her knees and Lane fell to the ground while Wilson hurriedly supported Molly as the knights statues went back to being statues
Milky climbed onto Lane's back and went to sleep then Lane said "Someone's ph-phone is v... v... vibrating"
Yilao saw her phone a few feet away and went to go get it then looked at the others anxiously "It's Dad"
Molly said "Well, pick it, they must be wanting to ask how you guys are doing"
Yilao picked the call "Hello, Dad?"
Yanghu sighed in relief "Lujin is there anyway you can make the shield for them not to see us and be unable to hear us"
Lujin did that immediately "Not much work"
The leader grunted as he hit the arm of the chair he was seated in "What are you guys doing!? Tired already? That old man looks pretty okay to me so continue attacking!!"
Carrie had been injecting Lujin with vitality since that was her power, it help others to sustain their powers for a longer duration well till she couldn't do it anymore
Yanghu asked "Are you and the others alright? They didn't get to you, did they?"
Yilao gulped in fear as she put the on speaker "Dad, are you guys alright?"
Yanghu sighed and Carrie who was about to call Kelvin and Shawn said "Well some dudes barge in here and tried to take us hostage well it's more like they because we're literally surrounded. Lujin's shield is the one protecting us and I'm aiding him with my ability but we won't be able to last forever so I'm going to tell you guys not to come back for us"
Molly shouted "Mum! What do you mean!?"
Lujin stated "They're about fifty of them here and each has different abilities, you guys would only put yourself in danger if you come here"
Carrie said "We'll try to kill as many as we can so they wouldn't come for you guys"
Yilao shouted "They already came and we beat them! We can do the same for you guys, just hold on till we get there!!"
Yanghu remarked "We're old, we probably won't be able to last till you reached here and even if we did, you would be weakened by them before you could get to us. Don't bother and just tell Kelvin and Shawn not to come back but to go meet you guys instead"
Yilao had tears in her eyes as she stood up in haste but wobbled "Dad!! J-just hold on! We'll come save you!"
