Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Don't Regret It!

Hua Xiaomo didn't say anything more, opened the door, and walked out.

"Are you sure you don't want to go? Don't regret it later," Xia Shuangming said, his smile deep and knowing. He didn't stop her from leaving, though.

Hua Xiaomo ignored him and got into the elevator. Unexpectedly, she went in the wrong direction. It was an express elevator that took her directly to the top floor, the thirty-ninth.

As the elevator doors opened, she stepped out, only to meet a barrage of disdainful glances. In an instant, Hua Xiaomo's face flushed crimson with embarrassment. Damn it, these snobs who look down on people are truly detestable...

As Hua Xiaomo stood at the elevator entrance, preparing to wait for the next elevator down, the doors suddenly opened again. A group of people emerged, among them a man who was clearly the center of attention, as if the stars themselves were arrayed around him.

He had a clear, handsome face with sharply defined angles. His deep, ocean-blue eyes shimmered enthrallingly. Thick eyebrows, an aquiline nose, and perfectly shaped lips—each feature loudly proclaimed nobility and elegance. His slightly long, tousled hair drifted across the corners of his eyes, sketching a beautiful, shimmering arc that created an elusive aura of both intimacy and distance. He perfectly embodied this blend of nobility and coldness. Even when he smiled, it was with such cold indifference that it deterred any familiarity, as if he were a born king!

"It's the Qi Family's eldest son, Qi Longbing!" someone exclaimed. Following that, many eyes converged on him. Looks of admiration, worship, and various other awestruck expressions were all openly displayed.

Damn it... why him again? Hua Xiaomo, who had been about to get on the elevator, quickly stepped aside, turning her back to these people to avoid his gaze.

Fortunately, plenty of people were moving towards Qi Longbing to get a better look, conveniently providing cover for Hua Xiaomo's slender figure.

Qi Longbing's gaze didn't wander; he held his head high, as if nobody else was present, exuding an air of defiant nobility. He quickly entered the venue, surrounded by his entourage.

Suddenly, a voice impatiently barked, "You, you... and you over there, come here! How do these newcomers not know the procedures? And that supervisor, where are they? Still not here! This bunch they brought is a complete mess."

"And you, what are you doing standing at the elevator? Hurry over here and get changed!" the voice continued. "The guests have all arrived; if you're not going to serve them, are you expecting them to serve you instead?"

Hua Xiaomo, who was about to leave, glanced at the speaker and saw a man in a suit glaring at her. Pointing to herself, she asked, "You... are you sure you're talking to me?"

"Enough nonsense! Get over here and change! The guests are all here. If you don't attend to them, are you waiting for them to attend to you?" the man in the suit continued to scold.

"Serve the guests?" Hua Xiaomo finally began to understand; they had mistaken her for a new service worker. But how could this manager be so muddle-headed?

Hua Xiaomo frowned. "I'm not..."

But before she could finish, the man who looked like a manager glared at her again. "Not what? Let me tell you, even though you're temporary staff, if you delay by a single minute, I'll dock your entire pay for today!"

"The pay... how much?"

"Three thousand... and I'll dock it all!"

"Uh... Manager, please don't be angry. I'll go right now..." Hua Xiaomo's eyes darted about, a hint of cunning in them. Three thousand for one night? Heh, VIP-level service work isn't too bad, it seems.

Soon, Hua Xiaomo had changed into a white blouse with a butterfly bow and a short skirt. Along with the other service workers, she entered the venue.

Alright, for the money, I'm all in. It wasn't that the monthly allowance Hua Renda provided was insufficient; rather, after constantly enduring the moods of her stepmother and stepsisters, she had learned the importance of self-reliance.

The venue was resplendent, a scene of glittering luxury wherever one looked.

Hua Xiaomo tried to stay on the sidelines, pouring drinks for the guests. Watching the room filled with fashionably dressed socialites and wealthy young heirs, observing the lively scene with clinking glasses, she narrowed her eyes slightly, a touch of disdain in her heart.

So this is the so-called 'tall, rich, and handsome' and 'fair-skinned, rich, and beautiful'? Aside from their luck in being born, these people were otherwise worthless. Is this what high society is about?

"Trash..." Hua Xiaomo muttered disdainfully, pouring wine carelessly. Hiding in the corner, however, allowed her to discreetly snack on an endless stream of delicious treats, which went straight to her stomach, moistening her lips.
