Chapter 94 - Chapter 90: Emerald light

The space between Uranus and Neptune was filled with nothing but emerald and dark red flash, Toneri was running out of options.

His body blurred in and out of Amenosakeme, his Truth-Seeking Orbs were spinning and disintegrating any Omega Beams that got close enough to threaten his his being. He teleported through the whole sector of space between the two planets back and forth, deflecting and erasing the hellish energy projectiles as they homed in, twisting space itself in their deadly pursuit. But Darkseid was relentless. For every beam Toneri erased, five more took its place.

Even his Gudōdama, potent as they were, couldn't hold them all off… in his current state, his TCM1 was being overwhelmed.

In the midst of this cosmic pressure, Toneri's right palm sparked with rotating chakra. A brilliant black sphere, microscopic yet impossibly dense, began to form and bend space due to the immense gravitational pull.

"Tch… Using Insatiable Primordial Singularity here is too dangerous. But…"

That single instant of hesitation cost him everything.

Before the thought finished forming, Darkseid was already there blurring across vast distance to his side.

Space bent as a hand wreathed in seething red Omega Energy surged from the behind. His expression bore no words only a cruel smirk at catching Lunaris off guard, the satisfaction of inevitable dominance.

Toneri's eyes widened.

His hands shot forward instinctively, to create a barrier, the Red Shisekiyōjin, the barrier used to suppress even the Ten-Tails. But it was rushed and Incomplete.

The circular barrier flickered into reality. Imperfect and not fully formed around the path of Darkseid's incoming strike.

CRACK.

Darkseid's fist smashed through the barrier with a thunderous quake that sent cosmic shockwaves howling across the void between the two planets. His knuckles collided directly with Toneri's face. The Omega-laced punch discharged like a nuclear implosion on his face.

Toneri was launched backwards at light-speed, past Neptune space and back into Uranus.

His body tore through space in agony and pain, his face and skull half-incinerated, how his head still exists after that hit was a miracle in on itself, the destructive nature of the Omega Effect searing even his regenerative chakra and slowing down his recovery. He tumbled through the void, spinning uncontrollably and half-conscious, the stars blurring around him as his eye balls finally regenerated to view them.

His skin steamed and the space between his cells boiled as they tried to recover from the sudden shock of incineration but still, he healed.

Still, he endured. From where he'd just been punched the space of Uranus, something was chased him.

Everything chased him.

His eye twitched and looked to his down and what he say made his steaming pupils shrink to a pinprick.

Thousands of Omega Beams, not a barrage but a flood of em.

The space around him erupted into burning crimson lines. One after the other, like the uncoiling of celestial serpents, they all zoomed in on his steaming form and landed.

Then came the detonation upon contact.

The darkness between Uranus and Neptune was swallowed in a cataclysm of dark red light.

A red dwarf seemed to be born, then die, in the same instant as space trembled. The silence of the void screamed as the explosion rippled through the solar system.

Darkseid watched from afar. His arms lowered slowly.

And for the second time now…

He smiled again.

"Finally."

He began to float toward the site, drawn by the gravitational pull of his own devastation. The space was still volatile, the remnants of his Omega energy rippling like dying waves on a black ocean.

Then his smile faded as he felt Something… shift.

A feeling like being pulled or more appropriately dragged downward. Not physically no no, but spiritually or was that… metaphysical? like the weight of a depth clawing at his soul.

His brow furrowed.

He felt it before it happened or even became something that can be seen physically.

And then

Emerald.

A blinding, vibrant light burst across the void like the first sunrise. It didn't explode but unfolded, swallowing everything in its path, and Darkseid himself vanished within it as it spread to engulf the whole solar system.

---

Back on Earth.

In the niw desolate city, Cyborg stood before a mother box. Wires were connected to the red circle on his forehead, his body still and focused as he calibrated a portal generator.

Sweat dripped down his temple.

"Just a few more seconds… once I've got it, I Should be able to bring the others back from Apokolips," he said aloud, more to himself than anyone.

But just as the portal began to hum, something else caught their attention.

A pulse that made Flash turned sharply. Shazam did too.

Before them, on a distant ridge, a crimson barrier erected itself from six points in a hexagonal shape all around them . It was stretching into the sky like a glowing latticework of seals.

"…That's the barrier Toneri told us about," Flash muttered, eyes narrowing.

"He said we'd need it to try and contain Darkseid once he brought him back here…" Shazam added, nodding slowly. "Looks like we're almost at that part."

Before they could speak again, a portal suddenly opened a few meters away. Shazam and Flash flinched, spinning toward it.

Cyborg blinked. "That's not mine."

Out of the portal came Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Batman, all moving with urgency.

Lantern was cursing under his breath. "That fucking maniac…"

Flash zipped forward instantly. "What happened?! Where's Supes and Lunaris?"

Batman answered, stone-faced. "They're pulling survivors from the pods. Ensuring no humans get caught in the fallout of what Lunaris is doing."

Shazam raised an eyebrow. "What fallout? What are you talking about?"

Green Lantern cut in, visibly rattled. "He's making a goddamn planet. Or something like it. Out of the wreckage of Apokolips."

Wonder Woman's voice was quieter, but clearer.

"He's using something … and pulling in the surface of Apokolips, molten core, war debris… he's forming a moon or something like that."

Before they could react to what Wonder Woman said. The air changed.

The temperature didn't rise, But the density went through a noticeable change.

Like the atmosphere had turned into a thick liquid syrup, impossible to breathe yet full of something else. They staggered. The entire Earth trembled.

It wasn't hostile but it was vastly overwhelming.

A life force. Pure and Powerful enough to rearrange the fundamental nature of everything around it.

Of them all, Wonder Woman felt it the most as she was attuned with the divine more than any of them.

Her hands trembled, not from pain but what appeared to be a hint of reverence. She felt the energy, the richness of it. She had communed with gods of nature, graced with their presence and spoken with Demeter herself.

And yet this felt like it was much more powerful compared to what Demeter emitted during their meeting.

Before anyone could respond, reality seemed to fracture.

And then, bled emerald engulfing them all where they stand.

The whole world, every square inch, was bathed in the glow. From the top of the atmosphere to the deepest part of the core, everything was enveloped.

---

Back in the field, Elizabeth and the soldiers dropped their weapons in awe. Their hearts pounded with something primal as the green light swallowed the horizon and they as well.

In the hidden bunkers, military officials stared at their monitors and maps as every camera and feed filled with only one color

Emerald.

There was no static and no interference, Just radiance, unfathomable, Endless and warm.
