Chapter 73 - Chapter 70

All around Havelstadt, it was almost as if reality was tearing itself apart.

What began as isolated fluctuations quickly snowballed into catastrophic anomalies. Thunderstorms burst into existence in seconds irregular, chaotic things that defied meteorological logic. Wind twisted like it was alive, forming spiraling tempests. The very air vibrated with unseen pressure. Bodies of water bordering the coastal city surged in unison. Ocean tides ignored the moon, raging with unnatural fury, tossing ships into each other and flooding sections of the lower district.

From his position in the air, Gojo watched—

not with awe, but with a critical, sharpened eye. His Six Eyes narrowed at the shimmering veil that encased Magneto.

Something was… definitely wrong here.

The electromagnetic aura wasn't just bending metal anymore as it should but now it was folding space due to it influencing gravity. It shimmered like heat over asphalt, but more intense and so small at the same time. Gojo could see space itself bending ever so slightly, as if light was being swallowed and reborn in infinitesimal bursts.

"I knew he was powerful but making fundamental forces interact in such a way…" he muttered. "Gravity and electromagnetism on a level that's starting to mimic quantum fluctuation. So that's how it is, the space isn't rupturing completely it's just pushing and attracting at the same intervals"

Little distortions otherwise negligible to anyone but noticeable to his eyes appeared and collapsed near Magneto's epicenter. Tiny pops of existence like stars dying microseconds after being born. Magneto wasn't just altering the world he was rewriting parts of it with magnetic will.

Gojo's heart sank slightly.

"Is this really the full extent of his powers, I can see why he's one of the most dangerous mutant in all of existence."

A ship's anchor came screaming from the coast like a javelin hurled by a titan. Gojo barely blinked as his telekinesis lashed out, stopping it inches from crushing a group of civilians making their way towards the outskirts of the city. The mental strain due to the distance pushed him to shift focus.

He snapped out of his trance.

Without a second thought, Gojo unleashed a vast portion of his telekinetic power, forming a massive dome of invisible force that expanded across the city square, shielding the retreating X-Men and numerous civilians below. The ground cracked as its force pushed outward in a protective wave.

He looked down and spotted Jean deflecting a collapsed watchtower with her palms facing it. Her power rippled around her like a controlled wildfire.

Then he saw it due to his mind still being in its hyper focused state a second ship anchor whirling toward them. She raised her hand and the world moved.

'The world bends because we command it,' Gojo thought. 'But with her it… it simply follows.'

It was as though space itself anticipated Jean's desire reacting not to her force of will, but her presence. The anchor curled away like it wanted to obey her.

He touched her mind with his telepathy.

"Jean. I'll clear a path. Get everyone the hell out of here. Now."

She didn't question him. "Understood."

Suddenly, the sky darkened. Gojo raised his hand.

Boom!

A chunk of shipwreck debris nearly the size of a building was stopped just inches from crushing him. His telekinesis held it like it weighed nothing.

News Networks Across Borders – That Same Hour

"In breaking news, coastal guards from the Netherlands, France, and as far south as Spain are reporting missing or sunken vessels. Seismic reports from Iceland, Switzerland, and Romania confirm a sharp increase in localized earthquakes, with reports tying the epicenter to what's now being called the 'Havelstadt Anomaly.'"

"And here in the United States, tremors from the event have reached parts of the East Coast—including New York."

Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters – New York

The chandelier above Charles Xavier swayed.

Then came the tremor.

Books tumbled off the shelves. Students panicked. Cerebro's chamber flickered for a moment before stabilizing.

Riiiing!

The emergency line.

He answered, his voice calm but firm. "Xavier."

Fury's gravelly voice came through, raw with pressure. "Charles. I need to ask a favor. And I know damn well I don't have the right."

Xavier closed his eyes, already understanding. "You want me to try and reach him."

"Can you?" Fury asked. "Because if this keeps going—he's gonna wipe a chunk of Europe off the map and not just that, this has extended to other parts of the planet."

Xavier exhaled. "I can try. But I don't know if the Erik I knew still exists in there anymore."

"Then find him," Fury said. "Before he becomes the very thing he's always feared."

Logan growled as he slashed through fallen debris, lifting children and carrying an unconscious woman toward the Blackbird. "Oh. My. God," he gasped, watching another building collapse in the distance. "This city's gonna fold in on itself."

Kitty phased through a wall carrying two elderly people, breathing hard. "We're not gonna get everyone in time!"

Beast was coordinating rescue with swift, agile leaps—tossing rubble aside with his enhanced strength. "Focus, all of you! Prioritize the wounded!"

Cyclops, with surgical precision, blasted fallen girders out of paths while shouting orders. "Route's clear! Go, go!"

Rogue, empowered by Blob's strength, hurled cars and steel like they were toys. "I got 'em!" she yelled, slamming a wall of debris down to prevent more falling rubble. Blob himself had vanished—no doubt fleeing with the Brotherhood when the situation escalated.

Storm hovered high, struggling to gain control over the swirling chaos. "The winds aren't listening," she shouted over the communicator.

Jubilee fired bursts of plasma at exposed gas leaks to ignite and burn off fuel before it exploded. "Someone tell me why I signed up for this again?!"

Bobby formed ice ramps, escorting people away from collapsing bridges, freezing cracked roadways to stabilize them.

Nightcrawler bamfed in and out of destroyed buildings, appearing with three people, then two more, then another. His breaths were rapid, panicked, but his heart was steady.

They could all feel it now.

That sensation.

The closer you got to the eye of the storm, the heavier the air became. Like gravity itself was warning you turn back or die.

And they listened.

Because every instinct, every nerve in their mutant bodies screamed the same thing.

"Stay away from Magneto."
