Qin Yiren felt a bit uneasy. She hesitated and tentatively asked in a soft voice, "Would you not marry me then?"
"Then I'll just have to be domineering for once. Whether you're willing or not, I'll seize you and make you my Lady of the Fort!" Chu Xinian smirked wickedly, lifting a hand to playfully pinch Qin Yiren's cheek. "Still want to keep sleeping?"
"No, my head hurts."
The aftermath of the hangover made Qin Yiren let her face fall, rubbing her temples listlessly. Her voice was soft and delicate, filled with weakness. "I want some water."
Chu Xinian chuckled and stood up, heading to the suite's attached living room. "Wait here, I'll get it for you."
Momentarily sending Chu Xinian away, Qin Yiren rubbed her cheeks firmly, suppressing the indescribable shyness and a subtle thread of unease in her heart. She lifted the blanket and prepared to get out of bed.
