"Didi, deidi, deidi—!!!"

At the same time—

As Nami battled Weevil, a rapid alarm blared within the headquarters of the Kaiba Corporation, echoing through the command center.

"Master Kaiba!" A technician urgently reported, fingers flying over the control panel. "We've detected an unknown energy signature—there are cards in play that we cannot identify!"

"What!?"

Seto Kaiba, who had been enjoying the first battle of the tournament with smug satisfaction, immediately snapped his attention to the screen. His sharp eyes narrowed as he turned to the technician.

"Transfer the live feed to me. I want to see their duel."

"Yes, Master Kaiba!"

Within moments, a massive screen displayed the ongoing duel between Nami and Weevil.

On the battlefield, Pikachu—now boasting an attack power of 3200—had effortlessly wiped out Praying Mantis, whose meager 1500 ATK stood no chance.

With that strike, Weevil's Life Points dropped to 2300.

If he couldn't summon something powerful next turn—Pikachu's raw strength would end the duel.

"Pikachu? A Pokemon card?"

Kaiba's younger brother, Mokuba, squinted at the screen, reading the displayed card information aloud with confusion.

"Weird… I've never heard of a card like this before."

His brows furrowed.

"Is she using counterfeit cards from that mysterious organization?"

Just moments ago, Kaiba Corporation's tech team confirmed that the duelist facing Yugi Muto was using powerful, fake rare cards.

It made sense if this was more of the same.

However—

Kaiba shook his head.

"No. That's incorrect."

Mokuba blinked. "Huh?"

Kaiba's intense gaze remained locked on the screen.

"Her deck isn't fake."

His voice carried certainty—a duelist's certainty.

As one of the world's top duelists, Kaiba could instinctively sense something real within Nami's deck.

Something different.

Something powerful.

And yet—

Kaiba was an absolute believer in science. He dismissed the existence of "Duel Spirits" entirely.

He simply called this—

Duelist's Intuition.

Meanwhile—

A dense crowd had gathered around Nami and Weevil, drawn by the intense battle.

The moment Nami boosted Pikachu's ATK to 3200, an excited murmur spread through the spectators.

"No way!"

"She just powered it up again!?"

"This duel is crazy!"

But Weevil clenched his jaw.

His eyes darted between Pikachu and Nami, before swiftly drawing a card.

"My turn! Draw!"

A flicker of light sparked in his eyes.

Yes!

His grip tightened around the card—this duel wasn't over yet!

Without hesitation, he placed the card on his duel disk.

"I set a monster face-down and end my turn."

Nami smirked.

"No backrow? No traps?" Her voice teased. "Are you giving up, or is this part of your plan?"

But she didn't wait for an answer.

With a confident motion, she drew her next card.

"My turn—draw!"

Glancing at her hand, she quickly realized the new card wasn't useful right now.

No matter—

She raised a hand and commanded:

"Pikachu, activate your effect!"

The spectators held their breath.

"Once per turn—Pikachu destroys an opponent's monster!"

"Pikachu—Thunderbolt!"

"Pika~!"

A blinding bolt of lightning crashed down—

The face-down card shattered instantly, crumbling into fragments before vanishing into the Graveyard.

At that moment—

A monstrous shadow rose from the shattered remains.

A massive, green locust emerged onto the battlefield.

Weevil's voice rang out:

"I activate the Swarm of Locust's effect!"

Nami raised an eyebrow.

"When this card is sent to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon an Insect-type monster from my hand!"

With a dramatic flourish, he revealed a card and slammed it onto his duel disk.

"I summon—Petit Moth, in Defense Position!"

✨ [Petit Moth – DEF 200]

Nami chuckled.

"You survived?"

Despite his situation, he was still managing to keep monsters on the field.

Interesting.

Nami's lips curled in amusement.

"Fine then—Pikachu, attack his monster!"

⚡ "Pika~!" ⚡

Electricity surged once more as Pikachu prepared to strike—

But just before the attack connected—

"I activate the effect of Parasite Paranoid from my hand!"

Weevil held up a card, displaying it for Nami to see.

"This card can be activated directly from my hand—even during your turn!"

Nami's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Oh?"

Weevil smirked.

"I equip it to your Pikachu!"

A twisting, grotesque insect appeared—then shot toward Pikachu, latching onto its body!

"Once equipped, your Pikachu's type is changed to Insect!"

"And—Pikachu can no longer attack Insect-type monsters!"

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

"No way—"

"That means Pikachu can't attack Petit Moth!"

As the parasite fused with Pikachu, its body partially transformed—

Golden carapace formed over its fur, translucent insect wings unfurled from its back.

However—

Rather than looking grotesque like Weevil's creatures…

Pikachu's new form looked regal—like an armored knight of the insect world.

"Pika?"

Pikachu blinked in curiosity, flexing its new form.

Oddly enough—

It didn't feel bad.

In fact…

Pikachu had the strangest feeling—

If this was real, it might actually be able to use Insect-type Pokémon moves!

Nami watched Pikachu's transformation unfold without concern.

Her fingers brushed over a single card in her hand.

A Ritual Spell—[MEGA Evolution].

If she played it—

She could remove the parasite instantly.

And end this duel.

However, after some thought, Nami decided against using the card.

"Forget it. Judging by Pikachu's reaction, the parasite's power doesn't seem to be affecting it..."

"It's better to give my opponent a fighting chance."

"After all, if the national champion loses too easily, I won't have any fun coming back here. Beating up kids isn't exactly challenging."

Since she still needed to collect points later, Nami had no intention of going all out.

Besides, the power within her was more than enough to turn the tide of battle whenever she pleased—there was no real risk of losing.

The next second, she looked up and feigned nervousness.

"As expected of a national champion… this won't be easy."

"Hmph!"

Weevil scoffed arrogantly, but the fear Pikachu had instilled in him still lingered.

This duel was far from over, and he knew he couldn't afford to let his guard down.

"My turn! Draw!"

A sharp glint flashed in his eyes as he looked at his newly drawn card.

"I activate the monster card [Cocoon of Evolution] from my hand!"

"This card can be equipped to [Petit Moth]!"

"Once equipped, [Petit Moth]'s defense will match the Cocoon's!"

"And when [Cocoon of Evolution] remains on the field for six turns..."

A crazed smile spread across Weevil's face as he threw open his arms and laughed maniacally.

"My ultimate ace will emerge in its fully evolved form!"

"The [Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth] will rule this duel!"

On the field, a large mass of silk shot out from the card, completely enveloping [Petit Moth] inside a massive cocoon.

[Petit Moth, DEF 200 → 2000]

But he wasn't finished yet.

With a triumphant grin, Weevil played the last card in his hand.

"And now, I activate the Spell Card—[Eradicating Aerosol]!"

"This card allows me to destroy one Insect monster on the field!"

"And naturally, the one I'll be destroying is..."

He pointed a finger at Pikachu and sneered.

"Your Insect monster—Pikachu!"

"Heh heh heh… Now, experience the suffering of insects firsthand!"

As soon as the card activated, a giant pesticide can materialized above Pikachu, releasing a thick cloud of toxic fumes.

Even though the attack didn't actually hurt Pikachu, the rules of the duel dictated its removal from the field.

Pikachu vanished.

Weevil smirked, satisfied, as he ended his turn.

Nami, however, remained unfazed.

"It's my turn."

Even after losing her main Pokémon, she showed no signs of panic.

On the contrary—her gaze lingered on the cocoon sitting on Weevil's field, and the corners of her mouth curled into an amused smile.

"A cocoon, huh? Now that I think about it, I've never seen Butterfree-sensei as a child."

A strange energy surged within her, and with a flick of her fingers, it flowed into her deck.

She let out a quiet chuckle.

"In that case… let's make this duel even more interesting!"

"Draw!"

Without even glancing at the card, Nami placed it onto her Duel Disk.

"Come out—[Caterpie]!"

"Let's settle this! Let's see who the true king of the insect world is!"

"Chii~!"

A small, green caterpillar appeared on the battlefield.

It was none other than one of the weakest creatures in the Pokémon world—[Caterpie].

[Caterpie, Level 1, ATK 300]

Like Pikachu, the power of Butterfree had been divided into various cards.

This [Caterpie] was one of them.

Under the influence of this world's rules, the card had been transformed into an EARTH-attribute Pokémon monster.

The energy Nami had originally acquired had been assimilated into this world, turning into the power of a Duelist.

In simpler terms…

She had lost the ability to fight physically, but gained the power to draw whatever card she desired—

Even printing new cards into existence on the spot.

Of course, if she encountered someone else with similar abilities—like Kaiba or Yugi—it would come down to a battle of strength to see who could impose their will over reality.

The freshly summoned [Caterpie] radiated an aura of wisdom beyond its small and frail appearance.

Its large eyes, rather than filled with innocence, carried an ancient, weary gaze—like an old soul that had endured countless battles.

Weevil's eyes narrowed.

"What kind of monster is that?"

He adjusted his glasses, frowning.

"I thought I knew every insect-type monster in existence… but I've never seen this one before."

As an expert in Insect decks, he didn't claim to know every single card ever made—

But he was certain he had memorized every Insect-related card that mattered.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be a national champion.

Yet Nami's deck had been a series of surprises, challenging everything he thought he knew.

It unsettled him.

Nami, on the other hand, wasted no time ending her turn.

"Your move."

"My turn! Draw!"

Though he remained wary of Nami's mysterious deck, Weevil refused to let it shake his confidence.

He wouldn't let her throw him off his rhythm.

Not when his [Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth] was so close to hatching!

He raised his head and smirked wickedly.

"This is the second stage of the Evolutionary Cocoon... and the countdown to your demise!"

"No matter what tricks you pull, you can't stop the power of my insects!"

"I summon—Praying Mantis!"

A massive mantis, identical to the one before, appeared on the field. Its sickle-like arms gleamed menacingly, poised for battle.

[Praying Mantis, ATK 1500]

Weevil hesitated for a moment but ultimately waved his hand and declared:

"All the strongest insect cards are in my deck—I refuse to believe you still have anything left to counter me!"

"Praying Mantis, attack the opponent's Caterpie!"

As an expert in insect-based decks, he knew better than to underestimate weaker creatures.

But the pride of being an insect master kept him from thinking completely rationally.

But the moment he issued the attack command, a pang of regret struck him.

Especially when he saw the sinister grin on Nami's face.

"Just what I was waiting for!"

Nami's voice rang out with confidence.

"At this moment, I activate Caterpie's effect!"

"Because it's so weak, it has developed a unique survival instinct!"

"When it is selected as an attack target, I can add either [Quick Evasion!] or [Emergency Evolution] from my deck to my hand!"

"And my choice is... Emergency Evolution!"

Click!

A card suddenly ejected from Nami's duel disk. She grabbed it and held it up for Weevil to see.

"Emergency Evolution—a normal trap card! Its effect allows me to target a Level 4 or lower Pokémon monster on my field. When it's attacked, I can activate this card directly from my hand, sending the Pokémon to the graveyard and special summoning its evolved form!"

"Now... evolve, Caterpie!"

Whoosh!

A radiant light of evolution engulfed the field.

Bathed in its glow, the Caterpie spewed thick silk above its head, wrapping itself tightly until it formed a solid cocoon.

[Metapod, DEF 2000]

"Another cocoon?!"

The audience stirred, murmuring in intrigue.

Many of them barely understood the rules of dueling, yet they couldn't help but feel drawn to the intensity of this battle.

"Evolution isn't exclusive to you."

Nami smiled as she gave her next command.

"Now, I activate the second effect of Metapod! For every turn it remains on the field, its defense increases by 500!"

"Metapod, activate Harden!"

The green cocoon remained motionless, but its surface shimmered with a metallic sheen.

[Metapod, DEF 2000 → 2500]

"What?!"

Weevil's eyes widened at the sight of the cocoon's formidable defense.

But the attack had already been declared—there was no turning back.

Praying Mantis, with only 1500 attack points, slashed down with its scythes.

Yet, the moment its blades struck the hardened cocoon, its body trembled—its strength visibly drained.

Luckily, since Metapod was in defense mode, Praying Mantis wasn't destroyed in a counterattack.

However, Weevil's life points took another heavy blow.

[Weevil, LP 2300 → 1300]

"No way... Is this guy really a national champion?"

Mocking voices began to rise.

For Weevil, the true duelists might be analyzing how to recover from this situation.

But for most spectators, one thought dominated their minds: That's it? Even I could beat him!

Soon, doubts about Weevil's reputation as the national champion started circulating.

But this was the nature of duelists in this world.

Much like the pirates of the Grand Line, each one believed they were the strongest—until they were utterly defeated.

Otherwise, Yugi(the world MC) wouldn't have climbed to the top by crushing so many overconfident challengers.

To most, this game was a battle of luck.

But to the truly skilled, every card drawn was simply fate manifesting.

"Damn it!"

Weevil gritted his teeth. His life points were dangerously low, and he was out of cards.

Frustrated, he shot Nami and her Metapod a venomous glare before reluctantly ending his turn.

"My turn. Draw!"

Nami calmly drew her next card, barely glancing at it before announcing—

"End turn!"
