Ruofei's POV:
After paying the bill (and leaving a big tip behind for the waiter), we headed straight to the hospital. Wenli made sure that no one was following us.
They immediately sent us to a sweet female doctor. Almost everyone in this hospital was beta.
When I asked why, they replied that some patients have rare conditions and that smelling pheromones makes them feel worse.
After talking to the doctor about the symptoms and having some tests done, we waited for the results. My soulmate went to buy us some drinks while I waited.
He bought some lemon juice for me and tea for himself. While we waited, he told me about things he did when we weren't together.
I found out, that he went to America for a business trip and met one of his new friends.
His name was Luca and he was from Italy. He could speak Korean because one of his cousins lives in Korea.
Wenli also told me that he invited him to attend his wedding. It sounded amazing. He promised he'll ask him if we can come together. I knew, that he'd keep his word.
After 26 minutes, they called us inside. I was really nervous but kept my face calm. The doctor immediately smiled, letting us know it wasn't that serious.
"Congratulations Mr. Huang, you're pregnant," she said, smiling even wider than before.
My stomach turned around. Pregnant. I couldn't even imagine another living soul inside me.
"How? I am a recessive omega. My father as well and the first time he got pregnant was after months of trying."
"Is your mother dominant alpha?" she asked, now looking serious. "No," I answered, slowly understanding why he was asking this.
"How about your siblings?" "Just my older brother but he wasn't at home most of the time."
"And your partner?" "Yes...he is." My eyes immediately widen. "You mean?" "Yes," the doctor replied, knowing exactly what I meant.
I looked at Wenli who was standing next to me, mouth open. Usually, I would mock him. Today is a different case.
We thanked the doctor and left. I could feel my stomach tightening and ran towards the toilets. Wenli was right behind me.
~Time skip~
"Are you alright?" my soulmate asked me after I left the toilets. "Yeah, I feel better than before," I replied talking towards the car.
"You know I didn't mean this," he said, looking at me with serious expression. "What if he finds out?"
I turned my gaze from him. "He won't," I replied, not sure if I was assuring him or myself.
He held the door for me and didn't ask anymore. We agreed to meet next week at the airport and go to Korea together.
I knew that he had many questions but I couldn't bring myself to talk about this.
We arrived at our location. It was Wenli's private villa with a big park around it.
Each time I was feeling down, I would come here and remember those wonderful moments we spent here together.
Wenli decided to cook dinner while I went to take a rest. I entered my room and lay on the bed.
He soon called me into the kitchen, food already on the table. We ate in silence, keening words for later.
After finishing eating dinner, we decided to watch a movie together. I sat on the couch while he was choosing the movie
I couldn't stop thinking of him or her inside me. I was surprised but happy and excited as well. I smiled without even noticing it.
"What happened baby?" Wenli asked me, sitting next to me. I could feel him hugging me from behind and I gladly hugged him back.
"I still can't believe this happened," I replied, staring at the wall. "I understand. Are you angry?"
"No. I just hope he won't find out. I want to protect it with my life. Protect it from him."
I could feel his grip tightening, making sure I felt safe in his arms. "I promise, I will never tell him."
I turned around and hugged him again. "Thank you soulmate. I hope we can just stay like this forever, protecting each other."
Wenli's POV:
My baby is slowly breaking and it's all because of him. Ruofei loved him since he understood the meaning of love. Maybe even before.
But how did he repay him!? Drugged him, made him pregnant, and left.
I tried to save my baby but he loved him too much. It's too late now. Too f*cking late.
Even if Ruofei didn't want to return to Korea with me, I would take him there by all means. Thankfully, I didn't need to do that.
"How about we go to bed early baby? You look pale and tired," I asked him, already standing up from the couch.
"What about the movie?" "We can watch it next time," I replied, lifting him from the couch. "Alright."
I slowly walked towards the bedroom and placed him on the bed. I was about to leave when he grabbed my wrist. "Could you stay here with me tonight?" I smiled. "Of course baby."
I laid down next to him and wished him good night. He hugged me and fell asleep quickly. I couldn't sleep at all. I couldn't stop thinking, how could that monster ruin him so much?
That night, I swore that I would protect him till the end of my life. Especially from that monster.
