The faint glow of the flame flickered in her hand casting shadows against the cold metal walls, as Aria crouched beside the remains before her. While lost in the storm of her curiosity in regards to the remains, she heard the sound of what seemed to be footsteps echoing faintly through the corridor. And her heart started to pound hard against her rib cage.
She rose to her feet, straining her ears, trying to catch any sign of its origins. The flame wavered, stretching as faint waves of light and barely illuminating past a few steps ahead. She raised the flame higher, towards where she thought the sound was emanating, trying to brighten the corridor but to no avail.
'Where is it coming from' she thought as she peered into the darkness.
Her gaze darted from one end of the corridor to the other in search of the unseen presence. The sound grew louder, reverberating through the corridor. With Its origin seemingly impossible to pinpoint, the steady rhythm sent chills down her spine.
