The sun rose over Kuoh Academy, casting a warm glow through the classroom windows. Issei sat at his desk, flipping through his notes, though his mind was far from academics. The events of yesterday weighed heavily on him. He had tried, and failed, to impress the girls—again. But today felt different. After the encouraging words from the MC, he felt a renewed determination bubbling inside him.
"Alright, guys! Today's the day we turn things around!" Issei announced, his voice rising with enthusiasm. His two friends, who had become accustomed to his outlandish declarations, exchanged eager nods.
"Yeah! Let's do this!" one of them chimed in, while the other just grinned, already picturing the girls they hoped to impress.
Meanwhile, the MC leaned back in his chair, arms crossed and a smug smile on his face. He found their relentless optimism amusing. They had no idea how futile their attempts truly were. The advice he'd given them was nothing but smoke and mirrors, designed to keep them distracted while he plotted his own course.
As the lunch bell rang, the trio gathered their belongings and set off, heads held high. The MC trailed behind, watching the spectacle unfold like a well-rehearsed play. They approached a group of girls, a mix of excitement and dread written across their faces.
"Hey, ladies!" Issei called out, trying to project confidence. "You all look lovely today!"
The girls turned to face him, curiosity etched on their features. The MC couldn't help but stifle a laugh; Issei's awkward charm was a sight to behold. The girls exchanged glances, some smirking, while others rolled their eyes.
"Uh, thanks?" one girl replied, her tone flat.
Undeterred, Issei pressed on. "I was just thinking… would you like to join us for lunch? We have some really cool plans!"
The MC watched as the trio began to fumble through their rehearsed lines. Their nervousness was palpable, and he could see the girls losing interest by the second. The once-bright confidence in Issei's eyes dimmed as he realized that his friends were saying all the wrong things.
"Look, we're kind of busy right now," another girl said, turning away.
As the girls walked off, Issei's shoulders sagged, and the MC couldn't help but shake his head, feigning concern.
"Hey, you guys did great! Just a little more practice and you'll get there," he said, adopting a tone of false encouragement.
Issei, desperate for affirmation, turned to the MC. "Really? You think so?"
"Absolutely! Just remember what I told you. Be confident and… uh, relatable!" the MC said, internally laughing at his own nonsense.
They wandered back to the classroom, Issei's enthusiasm waning with every step. The MC noticed the glances from other classmates, worried looks that conveyed their concern for Issei. They had noticed his association with the trio of perverts, and the murmurs only grew louder.
"Dude, why do you keep hanging out with them?" one classmate asked, a hint of disbelief in his voice.
"Yeah, it's like you're asking for trouble," another chimed in.
The MC interjected smoothly, "Hey, they're just trying to figure things out, like we all are. It takes time, you know?"
His words seemed to soothe the tension, but he could feel Issei's determination falter slightly. The protagonist didn't realize that the very advice he had received was a ploy to keep him from succeeding.
After school, Issei and his friends met again, ready to try for a second time. The MC watched from a distance, pleased that they were falling right into his trap. They approached a different group of girls this time, armed with a new strategy that the MC had helped to formulate.
"Hey, we've got some great ideas for this weekend! How about you join us?" Issei tried again, confidence now a mask for desperation.
But the same response came; the girls were clearly unimpressed, laughter ringing out as they turned away. Issei's heart sank, and the MC felt a mix of amusement and pity for him.
"Come on, guys! You just need to be cool!" he called out, feigning support.
As the girls walked away, Issei and his friends slumped against a wall, frustration evident on their faces. "What are we doing wrong?" Issei lamented.
The MC stepped forward, his tone soothing. "It's all in the delivery, Issei. You just need to be more confident. Women like a guy who knows what he wants."
"Really? You think so?" Issei asked, his eyes brightening for a moment.
"Of course! Just watch how I do it," the MC said with a sly grin. "I'll show you how it's done next time."
As they walked home, Issei couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Little did he know, the MC was relishing every moment of his manipulation. He had a plan in motion, and it was time for the next phase to begin.
That night, the MC settled into his room, anticipation coursing through him. He needed to contact Raynare. The fallen angel slave was an integral piece in his strategy, and he was eager to put her to work. With a quick thought, he reached out through their telepathic connection.
*Raynare, meet me at the abandoned church,* he commanded, confident in the bond they shared.
Moments later, he felt her response, a mixture of apprehension and submission. *I'm on my way,* she replied, and he could sense the conflicting emotions swirling within her.
The night was cool and quiet, and the MC made his way to the church, the shadows enveloping him like a cloak. He felt powerful, knowing that he was pulling the strings behind the scenes. Soon, he'd have Raynare by his side, and with her, he could influence the outcomes in ways Issei could only dream of.
When Raynare arrived, she stepped into the flickering candlelight of the church, looking around with cautious eyes. The MC emerged from the darkness, a predatory smile on his face.
"Glad you could make it, Raynare," he said smoothly, closing the distance between them.
"What do you want?" she replied, her voice steady despite the underlying tension.
"I need you for my next plan," he said, leaning closer. "You've tasted defeat and servitude, but together we can change the game."
Raynare narrowed her eyes, suspicion flaring. "And why should I help you?"
