The French Grand Prix had been executed without a hitch. It was carried out successfully and elegantly, befitting one of France's most prestigious events.
An opening ceremony was initially planned for the French Grand Prix by the government, but they had to adhere to the FIA's edicts and directives as a result of the ongoing tribute to Ansel Hahn. The entire weekend unfolded undisturbed for both F1 and F2, and on Sunday, delay and disorder were nowhere to be found.
Though the race did proceed without disruption, and every logistic arm operated perfectly, the atmosphere was patently different from how a typical F1 Sunday race should be.
The collective chants, roars, color, chaos, horns, sirens, and merchandise frenzy.
The French Grand Prix achingly featured almost none of these. The race was monochromatic and sullen, even though the sun was up high in the sky, and the leaves of the vibrant trees in Solaris were so vivid and dazzling they looked painted.
