Reining in his thoughts, Seimei turned his gaze back to the panel.
Apart from the two jutsu he'd perfected and the three newly copied jutsu he'd just learned, the ones worth his attention were "Shadow Clone Technique" and "Mystical Palm Technique."
He had allocated the 20,000 chakra points saved from perfecting "Heart Connection Technique" to the former, accelerating its proficiency rate significantly. Now, it was already at LV5 (4190/5000), just 800 points away from reaching LV6.
Currently, Seimei had invested 35,000 chakra points into it, allowing it to gain over 230 proficiency points daily. This meant that in just over three days, less than four, he would be able to level it up.
Once his "Shadow Clone Technique" advanced to LV6, he estimated—especially when combined with his LV5 "Wind Style: Wings of Wind"—that he'd be able to create flying clones while in flight. This would further enhance his agility in battle.
Of course, even if it didn't work out, it wouldn't be a problem.
His "Wind Style: Wings of Wind" was currently LV5 (3995/5000) and, at a daily investment of 20,000 chakra points, gained 235 proficiency points per day. So, in just over four days, it would also reach LV6.
With both "Wind Style: Wings of Wind" and "Shadow Clone Technique" at LV6, he would definitely achieve his goal.
There was no need to worry.
Aside from the "Shadow Clone Technique," the other one to consider was the "Mystical Palm Technique." In the past week, its proficiency had increased beyond what he could gain through planned physical enhancement.
The reason was simple—he had taken on some of the responsibilities of a medical ninja, earning proficiency points while healing the injured. Additionally, this had also slightly improved his "Chakra Scalpel" and "Delicate Illness Extraction Technique."
The latter, however, was still at LV6 (3100/10000), far from LV7. However, "Chakra Scalpel" was now at LV6 (9200/10000), just a step away from LV7.
While LV7 was unlikely to be its limit, advancing to LV7 would mark a significant improvement. By then, he might no longer need hand seals to activate it, making it a combat-ready technique.
Any jutsu that could enhance his combat power was something Seimei focused on. He decided to allocate a portion of the chakra he'd captured from the Mist Ninjas to "Chakra Scalpel" to boost its proficiency quickly.
After shifting his attention away from these jutsu, he glanced over the rest of his skills. There was nothing particularly noteworthy, as most were progressing steadily according to his training plan.
The few newly copied jutsu that caught his attention had grown a bit, fed by the leftover chakra from his plundering efforts. He didn't plan to dedicate chakra to them; they would just be passively leveled with any residual chakra.
After a few minutes spent summarizing his recent progress and planning his training, Seimei closed the panel.
Looking up, he glanced at the night sky through the window gap.
A full moon hung in the sky, its silvery light captivating his gaze.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
Snapping back to reality, Seimei called out, "Come in!"
The door creaked open, and a figure stepped inside.
It was one of his subordinates, a special jōnin named Kobayashi Shunji. As soon as he entered, he said, "Captain, the personnel are assembled!"
Indeed, before starting his final round of training, Seimei had ordered everyone to assemble by midnight.
And now… the timing was perfect!
Nodding, he didn't need to prepare anything. Since arriving on this battlefield, he hadn't removed his gear.
He stood up and walked outside.
In front of the formation, he saw his squad of dozens of Konoha ninjas standing in orderly rows, awaiting his command.
"I just wonder how many of them will survive the night?"
Seimei mused inwardly.
A decapitation mission wouldn't just involve jōnin; chūnin and genin would also participate. In a way, this was a full-scale assault. However, instead of aiming to annihilate enemy forces or push them out of the Fire Nation, the goal was to draw the Mist Village's attention, creating an opening for the jōnin's decapitation mission.
In other words, these top-ranking jōnin wouldn't join the battle—at least not in its initial stages. Thus, the chūnin and genin casualties would undoubtedly be high.
That's why Seimei wondered how many of them would still be alive after tonight.
Seeing the unaware chūnin and genin below, he shook his head and pushed the thought away. He then turned to Kobayashi Shunji, ordering, "Lead everyone towards Yujin Harbor."
"Yes, Captain!" Kobayashi responded, but he quickly sensed something was off. "Captain, are we attacking the Mist's main camp?"
Yujin Harbor was indeed the Mist's main camp, serving as the stronghold for their invasion of the Fire Nation since they captured it. Its defenses were airtight.
Ordering an attack there seemed suicidal.
Both Kobayashi and the rest of the group were visibly confused. Murmurs of unease spread through the ranks.
Though Seimei didn't want to explain, he gave a brief word to stabilize morale, "We won't be alone; other allied forces on the battlefield will join this operation."
He didn't mention the reason for the mission or the objective of attacking the Mist's main camp, as the task was highly classified. Not even Kobayashi Shunji, a special jōnin not included in the decapitation squad, had the clearance to know.
Kobayashi's reaction was no surprise to Seimei.
After giving his brief explanation, he addressed Kobayashi again, "Carry out the order, Jōnin Kobayashi."
"Yes, Captain!" Kobayashi straightened and saluted.
Though Seimei's explanation didn't clarify everything, an order was an order. As the squad's commanding officer, his decision was final, regardless of any lingering confusion.
Suppressing his doubts, Kobayashi turned to the troops and announced, "Everyone, target: Yujin Harbor! Move out!"
Soon, the squad set out.
At the same time, dozens of teams across the battlefield moved in unison, all targeting Yujin Harbor.
As they say, if you want to kill a snake, strike its head. To achieve the desired result, they had to target Yujin Harbor, the Mist's main stronghold.
