Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

Kaven's pov~

I was so confused from the moment the water pulled me in until now, my legs running toward the temple without me realising anything around me.

The girl…is she a guardian angel or something?

I don't know how I got here, but all I know is that I have to reach the temple and find the next clue in my journey.

The earth stopped shaking, and I also stopped as I reached the temple's gate.

The fog nearly hid everything, and I couldn't see well.

And I didn't know where the girl had gone.

The gate was huge and made of iron. As I opened it and stepped inside, I heard countless voices screaming in my head.

I covered my ears with my hands and walked like an insane lost child.

The garden looked like a graveyard, and I almost saw the souls hovering around.

There is a huge dragon statue around the temple. Was it real in the past?

As I entered the temple, everything changed.

The voices stopped screaming, and the inside looked like a modern, fancy church.

I walked toward the centre, surprised by how fancy the temple was..

Out of nowhere, the girl appeared again in front of me and said sarcastically, "You must have a lot of questions, don't you?"

Yes, I had many questions, but we didn't have time to understand everything, so I asked her how I ended up here after drowning.

She sat on the ground and asked me to sit beside her. I couldn't see her face because it was hidden behind a mask. I sat down, waiting for her to speak.

He started talking in a magical voice, like the kind you hear when someone reads stories.

She said, "Imagine the place upside down. You saw the lake when you woke up, it's the same lake you reached, but from the other side. The magic running through your veins activates the lake's gate, allowing you to reach its second side."

I was so confused, How could any of this be real? I gathered myself and asked her seriously, "Tell me, how can I find what I'm looking for?"

She smiled and vanished suddenly except her voice echoed saying, "You will find it very soon"

I hated how she disappeared like that without telling me everything.

I started searching inside the temple for anything not strange, because here, anything normal would feel strange.

I remembered the pastor, my father... he would have loved to live in a church similar to this temple.

A wave of sadness ran through my soul as I remembered him. I missed my joyful life from before.

I decided to be brave enough to search outside.

After a few hours, I didn't find anything, and my head exploded from the sounds of souls.

I went to sit by the lake's bank and ignored whatever else might come in front of me.

I sat down and dipped my legs into the water. The place was filthy and full of dead plants, but the water itself was clean and clear.

I noticed that time didn't seem to pass. Only the full moon remained there.

I wondered if I found the next clue, how would I escape this place?

Suddenly, I felt something touch my feet, and a lot of small circles appeared in the water. I pulled my legs out quickly, my heart pounding. What was going to happen? I stumbled over a sword and grabbed it quickly, bracing myself for whatever might emerge from the water.

--------------------------------------------------------------

As Jack and Arthur waited for the sunset, sad and afraid for Kaven's fate, the sun came in a straight angle with the water's surface and many small circles appeared.

Jack and Arthur couldn't believe what they were seeing, but they hoped that this might lead them to Kaven.

They were terrified and shocked as soldiers began emerging one by one from the circles.

They held their knives tightly, and Jack said in a horrified tone, "Should we run for our lives or stay and fight these hundred soldiers?"

Arthur was also scared, but he was willing to do anything to find Kaven. He responded firmly, "We will fight for Kaven!"

A lump formed in Jack's throat, it was his first time facing a real battle against soldiers.

Arthur began the fight with fury, and his movements were so smooth that it looked easy to fight.

Jack braced himself and joined the fight, taking down the approaching soldiers.

They noticed some soldiers dying before reaching them, but they couldn't understand how it was happening.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The same soldiers came out of the circles toward Kaven. Kaven wanted to run back to the temple, but he knew he had to fight them first.

The girl's voice echoed in Kaven's head and said, "You have to kill them. They are from the Illusions Lake. Your friends will help you too."

He didn't understand at first how his friends could help him, but as he saw the soldiers dying one after another, he realised what was happening and began fighting them as well.

After the bloody battle, Jack and Arthur collapsed to the ground, exhausted and injured, and they lost consciousness.

As for Kaven, he was also covered in blood. He fell onto the ground and was breathing hard.

Suddenly, the soul of an old soldier appeared in front of Kaven.

Kaven backed away, trembling with fear. He had no strength left to fight and thought it was the end.

The soul said firmly, "When the sun descends and the cries rise, you will find yourself cradled by a single place."
