The car came to a stop, but Ares was too distracted by the battle he was fighting within himself to notice.
"We're here," agent James said.
He still didn't hear him, or any other sound really.
"Mr Ares?" He tapped his arms, and that was what did it.
Ares whipped his head towards him, and blinked.
"We're here," he said.
"Oh— I guess I'll be going into a ce—" his words trailed into silence when from the corner of his eyes, he caught something familiar.
"Yeah, you're not going to prison just yet. I told you, bring me something good, and you're a free man," agent James said.
"You've lost your mind." He shook his head.
"Why do you keep insisting on going to jail? I understand that you might have lost someone you cared about, but from my findings, you also have a daughter. Don't you want to be there for her?"
Thick heavy lines of distress, marred the flesh of Ares forehead, as his eyes blinked in disbelief.
