Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.
"Ah!" I said once the movie was over. The four of us were cuddled up on a couch. I was in the middle as I leaned against Taylor; Azula was on the other side with one of my legs in her lap. Ruby had decided to lie on top of Taylor and rest her head against my other leg.
"Was there something wrong with the movie?" Ruby asked as she reached out and tried to grab the laptop to remove the credits.
"No, not that. The movie was good," I said distractedly. "I remembered I still have to talk to Darkness and the others," I said simply, which stopped the three girls in their tracks.
"Ah, yes, the girls from 1B," Azula said with a shrug.
"You know Izumi, I thought you'd manage to seduce another girl in our class first before going after the other class." Taylor said mockingly, I rolled my eyes.
"I haven't agreed to anything yet, and I haven't seduced anyone. They offered themselves," I replied.
"Well, you used a masochist as a shield, and as a chair. That was way more than flirting if her moans were any indication," Azula said dryly. I grimaced as I blushed slightly.
"Yeah, well, it's Darkness." I tried to say. The three of them snorted.
"There were also those girls from Germany who came and brought a biography with them, right? " Ruby asked playfully. The next movie started as she finished clumsily tapping the keyboard. She definitely wasn't going to move from our laps to change the movie.
"Yes, Tanya and Visha." I confirmed before humming. "By the way, Taylor, could you get me the envelope from the desk?" I said, pointing at the desk. A small swarm flew in through the window and quickly grabbed the envelope, snatching it out of the air.
"What is it?" Taylor asked curiously. I started to open it.
"They left it this morning under Tanya's name, but if I'm right… yes, here it is. A summary of Tanya and Visha's internship, to add to our records." I said amusedly. Azula snorted as she leaned in my direction.
"An internship with Lady Nagant. Do you know her, Izumi?" Azula asked curiously. My eyes widened, and I quickly looked at the paper. Oh?! Lady Nagant wasn't in prison?! How odd!! The Hero Public Safety Commission still existed, so she should have been taken down the same path as in canon! Strange!
I looked at the girls who were waiting for an answer from me, cleared my throat, and nodded.
"Yes, I know her, Lady Nagant is the best shooter in all of Japan. Her quirk is called 'Rifle'. She can pull a rifle from her arm and shoot bullets made from her hair. She can shoot a moving target at high speed at a distance of more than 1km, at night and in the rain." I said distractedly. Ruby turned around, her eyes shining with emotion, and looked me straight in the eyes.
"A rifle from her arm!? How is it!? How does it work?! Is it totally organic, or does it have cybernetic parts?! How big is it!? Does it use any mechanism to work?! What's its range!? What's-" I put a finger to her lip to stop the questions.
"You can look for a video of her online. There are probably a couple," I said playfully. Ruby turned around once more and quickly started using the computer. Soon, there was a video of Lady Nagant shooting. The four of us stared at it.
"From what I understand, it's entirely organic, and since it uses bone and muscle tendons, it doesn't require any explosive combustion to propel the bullets, making it a relatively stealthy weapon. It doesn't make any audible noise or muzzle flash. Its effective range is, I believe, around 3km, and it can mold her hair to create its bullets. She can modify them enough to have different effects." I pointed out as we watched Lady Nagant fire.
"It's so amazing!! I think I had it as an internship option! Now I'm so regretting it! Do you think she can put dust inside her hair to add some effect to her shots?!" Ruby asked excitedly as she watched the video. I shrugged.
"If you get to know her, you can always ask her," I said playfully. Ruby bounced excitedly and finally got off our laps and started looking for information on Nagant. "So?" I asked once more. The girls looked confused. I rolled my eyes. "About the 1B girls," I clarified.
"I'd rather get to know them first. I mean, beyond the role Degurechaff wrote, we talked a bit at the festival, but mostly about battle strategy, so I can't say I know her," Taylor said with a shrug.
"I mean, yeah? I wouldn't mind, as long as they're nice, so I'm with Taylor on meeting them! But, if I may ask, wouldn't you already have three wives with just us?" Ruby asked as she looked at me in confusion. I hummed lightly before shrugging.
"I mean, I guess, it's not that I'm not satisfied with you guys, but you know I like sex, and as long as you guys don't mind, I certainly wouldn't mind adding more girls." I said honestly. The three girls snorted loudly.
"Of course, that's exactly what you'd think. Girls are supposed to be hornier than guys. Not the other way around," Taylor said mockingly.
"Really, Izumi, can you not think with your crotch? Girls have feelings too." Ruby said, almost disappointed, although her eyes sparkled with amusement.
" Really, sometimes you see us as if we were pieces of meat, I feel objectified." Azula finally finished with a sad look before the three of them laughed. I rolled my eyes while smiling slightly.
"Ha ha ha, how funny." I said dryly. "By the way, you may be making fun of me, but first, guys are just as horny and want sex as much as girls. Second, I can do both. I'm not going to have sex with just any girl I see; I'd rather be in a serious relationship with them first, and third, fuck you. You're my fiancées. I have the legal right to look at you that way." I said with a pout. That only made the three of them laugh once more.
" Aaww, we were just joking. Don't be bothered." Taylor said mockingly as she hugged me. I rolled my eyes but smiled slightly.
"But seriously, to be absolutely honest, as long as it doesn't bother you, I'd like to continue dating more girls." I said, completely sincere.
"Even if we get to 20 girls?" Taylor asked playfully. I opened my mouth slightly before closing it and pausing to think about it. I mean… it didn't sound bad. "Oh, goddess! You're considering it! " Taylor burst out laughing. I pouted again.
"Well, not that many... maybe 10." I said slightly jokingly, and the girls stopped.
"Really... that's not that many." Azula said distractedly. The three of us looked at her in surprise. Azula simply shrugged. "I mean, looking at it objectively, there aren't many, and it's not like once we graduate we'll be able to constantly be together. Look at Izumi's tastes, we're all foreigners. Taylor aside, I don't think any of them or us would want to completely leave their home country." Azula pointed out simply.
"Ah," Ruby and Taylor said at the same time,
"I guess… that's true. As much as I love Japan and Izumi, I'd like to return to Vale sometimes." Ruby said with a wistful smile.
"Also, both hero and hunter quests can be time-consuming. There are records of dungeons that lasted a full week before they could be broken," Azula added. We all fell silent after that. Azula grimaced and was the first to speak. "I'm sorry… I didn't mean to break the mood."
"Don't be sorry... I guess we had to talk about it at some point. I mean, it's only three years until we graduate." Taylor said with a grimace. Ruby nodded.
"And I should have realized it sooner… Mom, Aunt Raven, and Uncle Qrow would sometimes be gone for weeks at a time on missions. I mean, I lived that way, and it was never weird; Dad was just a constant presence." Ruby said with a light smile. "I mean, it wasn't bad in any way! They never neglected us or were absent; they never went on long missions when we were kids, so it was all good. But yeah… I should have seen it." Ruby said with a somewhat sad smile.
" Don't worry, and I would never ask you to leave your homes under any circumstances. We'll manage somehow... together." I said with a smile. Ah, I hadn't thought that far ahead. However, I suppose it will be short-term. Three years would go by pretty quickly. I'd have to prepare myself for when the time came.
"By the way? Do you like Japanese girls? " Azula asked playfully. I looked at her, confused.
"Of course I would, why wouldn't I?" I asked, confused. Azula looked at me mockingly.
"As I said, we're all foreigners, the three of us, and the other three that you want to add two are Germans, and then Darkness, who looks European." Azula pointed out, and I opened my mouth in surprise.
"Pure coincidence." I said while blushing slightly.
"Sure." They all said at the same time. I snorted and crossed my arms.
"There's nothing wrong with having a varied taste, 'he who eats everything doesn't die of hunger and all that," I retorted, which only made the three of them laugh out loud. Once they calmed down, Taylor looked at me.
"By the way, you're going to teach the pink-haired girl how to use the breathing style's too, right? " Taylor began, and I nodded. "So? What did you see in her that made you so curious?" she asked curiously. The other two immediately looked at me.
"Her name is Louise, she's an S-rank," I said with a mysterious smile. "That's for me to know and for you to figure out," I said mockingly. The three of them groaned loudly.
"It's not fair! Tell us! " Ruby complained, and I was about to open my mouth to scoff once more when someone knocked on the door. We all immediately looked at the door.
"Jinx?" I muttered in confusion as I felt her presence behind the door. Ruby appeared next to the door and opened it.
"Yeah?" Ruby asked, confused. Jinx had a conflicted look on her face, as if she didn't want to be here but had forced herself to be.
"I... can I talk to Miyamura?" Jinx muttered through gritted teeth.
"This sounds familiar," Taylor murmured behind me. Azula snorted.
"Let her in," I said simply. Ruby opened the door wider, and Jinx walked in, head down. Jinx looked up and gritted her teeth.
"Can you... can you, teach me... how to use... a sword?" Jinx snarled. It seemed as if it took an almost Herculean effort to get the words out, as if a tooth was being pulled with each word.
"I mean... a little context would be nice first?" I said in confusion. Jinx clicked her tongue. Ruby closed the door and offered Jinx a seat. Jinx grimaced and nodded. She floated her arm while distractedly looking away.
"Yeah, well, I-" Jinx took a deep breath. "We had the internships recently. Well, I chose the internship with a hero named Lady Nagant." Jinx began, my eyes widening slightly.
"Lady Nagant too? I take it you ran into Tanya and Visha." I pointed out. Jinx stopped and wrinkled her nose as she nodded.
"Yeah… Sinon was there too, I think she offers internships to anyone who uses guns or something. The point is, she took us to a dungeon and… made us see our… flaws straight on." Jinx said with a grimace. I raised an eyebrow, and now I was curious. Jinx seemed to struggle once more before sighing. "I ran out of bullets on the first day." Jinx said quickly. The three of us looked at her in surprise.
"Several questions. Lady Nagant took you to a dungeon? And you ran out of bullets?" Couldn't you get more somehow, or did Lady Nagant not help you? How did you keep fighting after that? " I asked curiously. Jinx scrunched her face once more.
"Yes, she took us to a dungeon. Lady Nagant works in both fields as a hunter and a hero. That's why I chose to do my internship with her. And yes, I ran out of bullets, and I can't exactly reload inside the dungeon! While Nagant could keep reloading with her hair, I couldn't! And not just me, Sinon also ran out of bullets in her Hecate and her pistol."
"The only ones who could fight were those two German girls with their bayonets. It was pathetic! The only thing I could use was Zapper, but the electric current it throws was too weak for the monsters! I had to build a knife from a monster's fang to use it as a temporary weapon! I hate that! I hate having to rely on anything other than my tools! My weapons! "But I need another way to fight! " Jinx said, angry with herself.
"So you want me to teach you?" I asked curiously, not really seeing it coming. Jinx stared at me.
"Yes, you said you would, during the festival. I want you to teach me! Even if it pains me to give up my weapons." Jinx growled.
"Why would you abandon your weapons?!" Ruby gasped in horror. Jinx grimaced.
"You think I want to? But the weight of both would only slow me down when I can't use them," Jinx growled with a sullen look.
"And why not make both? I mean, you can make a weapon like Ruby, right? Be a bladed weapon and a firearm at the same time. Even adding dust to it somehow, Zapper utilizes that, right?" I pointed out in confusion. Jinx froze, not a single muscle twitching before she looked at me.
"You're a genius! Yes! That can work!" Jinx said with a huge smile and her eyes shining. "Rose! You have experience with those types of weapons, right?! Do you want to help me design one?!" Jinx asked excitedly. Ruby's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Of course! We'll make you a completely new and totally badass weapon! " Ruby said excitedly. "I have a ton of plans and ideas in my room. Do you want to go see them?!" Ruby asked anxiously.
"What are we waiting for!?" asked Jinx with the same excitement.
"Wait!" I stopped them both before they left the room. Both gun-addicted girls stopped in their tracks. "Really, I don't think it's a good idea to design a gun until Jinx learns how to use one, or at least not until she decides what kind of weapon she wants to use." I pointed out the obvious. That deflated both of their excitement.
"You're a killjoy, Izumi," Ruby said with a pout.
"You are." Jinx said with the same pout. I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't say you can't exchange ideas or anything like that; just don't go overboard and build one now," I said dryly. That excited them once again.
"So... will you teach me how to use a sword?" Jinx asked excitedly. She seemed more excited now than before. I guess she is more excited by the idea of crafting and building a new weapon than learning how to use one itself. Or maybe she wasn't so bitter about the idea now since she could develop her own. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, why not. You can go, Ruby. I'm thinking of teaching her Beast Breathing. You know what kind of weapon it uses." I said simply. Ruby nodded quickly and became a storm of petals, enveloping Jinx, and both of them disappeared from the room.
The remaining three of us remained silent.
"So… another foreigner?" Azula said mockingly. I rolled my eyes.
"I'll just be teaching her," I sneered. The two of them snorted.
"You'll be dating her before you're done teaching her, and the pink-haired girl, too," Taylor replied playfully.
"I hate them." I moaned loudly. I hoped she wasn't right, not because I didn't find Louise or Jinx attractive, but because I didn't want to prove Taylor and Azula right. They both kept looking at me mockingly. "I'm choosing the next movie," I said childishly. The two girls moaned loudly and complained, which sounded much more pleasurable.
" Please don't choose another musical."
"or one of those 300-year-old movies you insist on calling classics."
Blasphemies everywhere!
