Julian stood silently for a moment, observing them. His presence, though hidden behind the trees, was already drawing glances from some of the knights.
Soon enough, every eye was on him. As Julian stepped out from the trees, the knights immediately dropped to one knee, their armor clinking in unison as they bowed their heads.
"Your Grace!" one of them shouted, and the others repeated the cry.
Julian walked forward, his gaze sweeping over each and every one of the soldiers. She really prepared all this, he thought, a touch of admiration rising in his chest for Eliz.
"Where is Eliz?" he asked, turning to a nearby knight who was still kneeling.
The knight replied without lifting his head. "Your Grace. Lady Eliz is just ahead. She's speaking with the soldiers of House Ravenswood."
"Speaking?" Julian frowned. "What is happening?"
