Chapter 343 - Illya's Father and Brother

"So, in your world, Alice and I are married..."

In the living room, Shin listened to Illya's account and roughly understood the situation of the world she came from.

To some extent, the development of that world was quite similar to the plot of "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya" as Shin knew it, except that Kiritsugu Emiya and Shirou Emiya had disappeared.

In their place, Shin and Irisviel were living a quiet life together... This was a development Shin had not anticipated at all.

The background setting of "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya" was that Irisviel had abandoned the Einzbern family's wish and, together with others, prevented the Fourth Holy Grail War from occurring, nearly destroying the Holy Grail system.

In the original story, the person who acted alongside Irisviel was Kiritsugu Emiya, but in Illya's world, it was Shin himself.

Shin suspected that his actions in "Fate/Zero" had caused significant changes in the trajectories of certain parallel worlds, with some paths originally belonging to Kiritsugu Emiya being replaced by him.

And because Kiritsugu Emiya had been replaced, Shirou Emiya, who would have been adopted by Kiritsugu, also did not appear in the story.

No wonder Illya called him "Dad" as soon as she saw him—Shin even suspected that he had, in some way, served as a "Holy Relic."

"That sounds like a pretty good world."

Meanwhile, Irisviel, holding Illya and listening to her describe the developments in her world, wore a happy smile on her face.

Although Irisviel didn't have a competitive streak, she occasionally wondered what it would be like if only she and Shin lived together. It might have been a nice scenario.

However, that was clearly impossible in this world. Now, hearing from Illya about the state of her and Shin living alone together, she felt content.

While chatting, Shin also used his "Ki" to secretly probe Illya's body.

Just like in the original story, she was a homunculus created by the Einzbern family through technology. The functionality of the Lesser Grail within her body had been completely sealed, making her no different from an ordinary person.

The Ruby gem she used to transform into a magical girl was also by her side, but unlike the talking Ruby in the original story, this one was almost completely silent.

It seemed that in the world from which this Illya had been summoned, although the overall direction was largely consistent with the original story, many details had changed significantly due to Shin's intervention.

"I think I understand the situation now... But don't worry, Illya. This world is peaceful. You don't need to fight Servants or save Singularities or anything like that."

After understanding the situation, Shin nodded to Illya, then stood up and walked toward the door, saying, "As for the details of this world, let Alice explain them to you later. From now on, consider this your new home. It might be different from where you used to live, but Alice and I are both here."

"Okay, Dad!" Illya nodded obediently—even though there were some unfamiliar girls in the house, Illya always listened to her father.

However, seeing Shin heading toward the door, Illya couldn't help but ask curiously, "Dad, are you going out to do something?"

"I'm going to school."

Shin picked up his schoolbag and showed it to Illya.

Illya's expression visibly froze—she probably hadn't expected that Shin in this world was still a student.

Thinking about it, according to the timeline of "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya," it was already ten years after the Fourth Holy Grail War—meaning the Shin in Illya's memory should be ten years older.

Although Shin's appearance likely wouldn't change due to his immortality, Illya hadn't expected that Shin in this world was still in high school.

Didn't that mean he was only a few years older than her? Was it really okay for her to call him "Dad"?

"It's fine to call me 'Dad' at home, but if there are outsiders around, you should call me 'Brother' instead."

Shin could probably tell what Illya was thinking and couldn't help but chuckle as he spoke to her.

At home, with everyone being familiar, it was fine for Illya to call him "Dad," but if a elementary school girl called a high school boy "Dad" in public, it might cause some issues.

Whether people misunderstood Shin as having a child at a young age or thought he was playing some kind of special game with a elementary school girl, neither scenario was good.

Since Illya's original brother, Shirou Emiya, was also nowhere to be found, Shin, in a way, was both a father and a brother to her.

"Call... call Dad 'Brother'?"

Illya's expression was filled with confusion and disarray, as her brain struggled to process the situation.

Although Shin wasn't Illya's biological father, the idea of calling someone she thought was her father "Brother" due to age differences still felt a bit awkward to her.

But it wasn't a big deal. Shin believed that by the time he returned from school, Illya would have sorted out her thoughts with Irisviel's guidance.

...

"Ugh, why do I have to deal with this?"

At Gabriel's house, she closed her laptop with a look of frustration.

The reason she had taken a day off from Shin's house today was to conduct her monthly communication report with Heaven.

As usual, Gabriel had requested a raise, but due to her recent poor performance, she was once again denied.

However, just as the call was about to end, Heaven suddenly sent an urgent notification, stating that an abnormal magical energy fluctuation had been detected in her town.

As a result, Heaven immediately assigned Gabriel a new task: to investigate the source of the abnormal magical energy fluctuation and report back to Heaven.

As a reward, Heaven would consider increasing her allowance.

This left Gabriel feeling quite helpless. She really didn't want to get involved in such matters—what did an abnormal magical energy fluctuation in her town have to do with her?

If it were the old, model-student Gabriel, she would have accepted the task without hesitation and conducted a thorough investigation.

But the current Gabriel was a complete gaming addict. If it weren't for the promise of an increased allowance, she wouldn't even have bothered staying in contact with Heaven.

"Magical energy... Maybe I should ask Shin?"

Gabriel sighed, and Shin's face popped into her mind.

In her impression, the only person who might have any connection to magical energy was Shin.

Although she knew that Shin's strange ability didn't involve magical energy, she really didn't feel like investigating further.

"I'll ask him when I go to his house to work after school today."

With that thought, Gabriel reluctantly got out of bed and prepared to head to school.

Ugh, she really wished she could be as rich as Shin. If she were, she wouldn't have to work or go to school at all!
