The 2000 C-point mark represented the highest achievement one could attain with Maximum Perfection and Death Difficulty ranking.
Anyone who hadn't reached the beings with Death Ranking would achieve less than 2000 points. The highest recorded was 1600 C-Points.
Eugene was aware of six Difficulty Rankings: Normal, Trainee, Recruit, Hard, Extreme, and Calamity.
When the brain entities arrived, they discovered the Death rank. Even now, people believed it fell somewhere under Calamity, meaning there were sub-rankings within the command levels.
They also suspected that Nightmare existed beneath Calamity.
Normal Rank wasn't actually normal. Participants would be placed in environments where they could explore while receiving warnings about dangers, allowing them to escape when necessary.
The Gateway Rune would always guide and aid them. While not entirely safe, it provided opportunities for self-understanding and growth in manageable environments.
