Chapter 440 - Chapter 440 – Amado Sanzu’s Plan

After reading through Boro's memories, Mirai tossed him over to Orochimaru without a second thought.

Orochimaru, naturally, was quite interested in someone who was practically immortal.

Judging from Boro's regeneration alone, even those who had transplanted Hashirama cells couldn't compare. If he could extract that kind of genetic material, the possibilities were endless.

Leaving the experimental facility behind, Mirai made his way to the Land of Valleys.

According to the information he had obtained from Boro's mind, there was another Kara base hidden there.

...

Once in the Land of Valleys, Mirai followed the intel to a secluded canyon.

Within the canyon, a well-concealed barrier protected a hidden complex.

As he stepped through the barrier, he found himself in a massive hall.

Nearly a hundred rooms lined the place, connected by specialized conduits to a large central control console.

He had only just entered when he felt a mental assault directed at him.

Mirai's lips curved into a slight smile.

Kara's members all seemed to share this odd overconfidence—Boro, Deepa, and now this one, "Ōga." They all thought they could take him on?

How amusing.

With a thought, Mirai's powerful mental energy surged outward, instantly reversing the psychic attack.

A startled cry echoed from behind the main console—Ōga, hidden in a nutrient pod, had just been forcibly dragged into a genjutsu.

Within a boundless void of darkness, only a pair of glowing lavender Rinnegan eyes stared down from the sky above.

They watched her without pause. There was nothing else—just those eyes.

Ōga thrashed and ran blindly through the void, trying desperately to escape their gaze, but no matter how far she went, the scenery never changed.

What terrified her more was that in this space, she didn't feel tired or thirsty. She couldn't even sleep.

She could only stay there, trapped in an eternal, suffocating silence.

She knew she was caught in a genjutsu, but she had no way of breaking free.

Not even death was an option.

She didn't know how long she had been trapped like that. When her spirit was on the verge of collapse, the darkness finally lifted, and her vision returned.

Gasping for breath, she burst out of the nutrient pod and collapsed onto the ground.

Uchiha Mirai crouched down beside her, smiling faintly.

"Not bad. You held on for over ten days."

Ōga's heart surged with emotion as she looked at the man before her.

Even though she knew he might have come to kill her, after suffering through that endless nightmare, even death felt preferable to going through it again.

"You're Ōga, right?" Mirai asked calmly.

"All those people who mysteriously disappeared from the Divine Nation—was that your doing?"

Ōga didn't dare lie. She nodded immediately.

"Yes. I kidnapped them."

"Oh?" Mirai raised a brow. "Why?"

"I lost the will to live," she said. "So I trapped them in genjutsu... I wanted to observe their will to survive. I hoped it might reignite mine."

Mirai's voice was cold.

"The will to survive? If I told you that death is nothing more than an eternal version of what you just experienced in that genjutsu... would you still want to die?"

Ōga's eyes widened in horror. She shook her head rapidly.

"No. I never want to experience anything like that again."

Satisfied, Mirai gently ruffled her hair.

"Then stay with me. Let me be your reason to live in this world. How does that sound?"

As their eyes met, Ōga felt her thoughts come to a complete halt.

She stared at him blankly for a moment, then nodded slowly.

"Understood. From now on, you are the only reason I live."

Mirai placed his hand on her forehead. The tattoo-like marking there faded instantly.

Looking at Ōga's sweet, delicate face, Mirai gave an approving nod.

This had been a fruitful day.

Tangno Karashi and Ōga—both were his type.

Taming them was more than just a strategic gain—it was a personal triumph worth celebrating.

"Mirai-sama," Ōga said softly. "I'll release the others now."

She lifted the genjutsu from the captives trapped in the rooms. Now that she had found a new purpose, they were no longer useful to her.

Before any of them woke up, she followed Mirai out of the base.

Perhaps...

A brand-new life was about to begin for her.

...

Kara Organization – Base

Inside the base, Jigen stood before the remaining inner members, murderous intent radiating from his body.

"What the hell is going on lately? Why are our outposts being wiped out one after another?"

"Boro and Deepa are both dead. The outer members have taken heavy losses as well."

"None of you have anything to say about this?"

Faced with Jigen's wrath, Amado Sanzu and Koji Kashin remained silent.

Victor, as usual, wore an indifferent expression, pretending none of this concerned him.

Only Code spoke up.

"According to my investigation, the first base to be discovered was the one in the Land of Snow. And it was Uchiha Mirai who personally attacked it."

...

"I volunteer to go to Konoha and investigate," Code offered.

Jigen waved him off.

"No. It's not your time yet. Stay where you are and keep watch over the Ten Tails."

Then, turning to everyone else, he said coldly,

"For the time being, lay low. Don't engage with any of the outside bases."

"Once this period passes, everything will change."

With that, Jigen walked away.

The rest of the inner members dispersed as well.

Walking side by side, Koji Kashin glanced at Amado.

"Jigen's body isn't going to last much longer. Are you ready?"

Amado replied coolly,

"Don't worry. I've already made my preparations aboard the vessel. Everything will go according to plan."

"With Uchiha Mirai's interference," he added, "it's almost guaranteed that Isshiki Ōtsutsuki will have no choice but to reincarnate using Jigen's body."

Koji nodded slightly, then asked,

"I've always been curious—why betray Isshiki Ōtsutsuki?"

Amado snorted.

"I've seen through him. He's never going to share the chakra fruit with the rest of us like he promised. And there's no way he'd waste power reviving my daughter."

"I've heard that Mirai might possess the ability to bring the dead back to life. Passing intel on Kara was my investment—to gain a future with him."

"Of course," he added, "that's only if he proves he can truly defeat Isshiki."
