Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: The Battle of the Spider God (Part 2)

Fang Chang had naturally noticed the formation being prepared by the second and third-tier deities, but after a quick mental calculation of its potential threat, he chose to ignore it entirely, focusing instead on the two primary adversaries before him—the God of Slaughter and the Sea God.

Had it been a sealing formation, he might have been concerned. But judging by the violent energy radiating from it, this was clearly a large-scale offensive array—hardly a significant danger to him.

Moreover, the formation's construction would keep those lesser deities occupied. This was precisely the outcome he desired.

Across from him stood the God of Slaughter and the Sea God, side by side. The God of Slaughter, positioned to the left, wielded a dark crimson longsword, while the Sea God on the right brandished a golden trident.

Their formation perfectly blocked Fang Chang's path forward. Without hesitation, the God of Slaughter struck first, raising his blade before vanishing in a flash, reappearing with a slash carrying the force of ten thousand pounds aimed directly at Fang Chang.

Seizing the opportunity, the Sea God circled behind Fang Chang, ready to exploit any opening during his clash with the God of Slaughter—no honor among gods here.

Facing their combined assault, Fang Chang's lips curled into a grin. "Ultimate Defense" activated instantly. Maintaining his human form, he stepped forward and swung a fist straight at the God of Slaughter's face.

Seeing that Fang Chang neither dodged nor blocked, the God of Slaughter pressed his attack, his dark crimson blade slicing into Fang Chang's left shoulder with brutal force. The two seemed intent on trading injury for injury.

Schlick!

The blade bit an inch deep into Fang Chang's shoulder, blood spraying from the wound.

At the same time, Fang Chang's fist connected squarely with the God of Slaughter's left cheek, shattering several teeth on impact.

But Fang Chang wasn't done.

His fist suddenly morphed into a spider's leg, its razor-sharp tip piercing through the God of Slaughter's cheek and out the other side of his mouth. Then, with a activation of "Flexible Size," the leg abruptly thickened and expanded, grotesquely distorting the god's face before tearing through flesh and bone alike.

Agony overwhelmed the God of Slaughter's senses. He recoiled violently, just as the Sea God drove his trident into Fang Chang's back.

Fang Chang's body twisted unnaturally. The enlarged spider leg, now free from the God of Slaughter's ruined face, whipped backward toward the Sea God. Simultaneously, Fang Chang clenched the muscles around the embedded trident with all his strength, throwing the Sea God off balance.

Whoosh—THUNK!

The leg impaled the Sea God's lower abdomen, hurling him backward through the air. The trident remained lodged in Fang Chang's back as the Sea God plummeted.

Killing intent flared in Fang Chang's eyes. Yanking the trident free, he kicked off the air, his body transforming into a streak of light as he pursued the falling god. The grievous wounds on his shoulder and back had already begun to heal, leaving only torn fabric as evidence of their existence.

The same couldn't be said for his divine opponents. Both gods had struck with their full strength, yet inflicted only minor injuries that vanished moments later.

The God of Slaughter, now missing half his face, watched with dark fury as Fang Chang chased the Sea God. He moved to follow—only for a streak of black light to slam into him from the side before vanishing.

A winged black tiger—the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger—had intercepted him.

In its current state, the beast stood no chance against the God of Slaughter in direct combat, and its "Life-and-Death Arena" ability was useless against deities. But its formidable physique allowed it to stall the god momentarily.

That delay was all Fang Chang needed.

He caught the Sea God mid-descent, driving the stolen trident toward his heart. The Sea God twisted desperately, crossing his arms to block—but Fang Chang's strength far surpassed his expectations.

The trident shattered forearm bones before plunging deep into the Sea God's chest, pinning his arms against his torso.

Such an injury would have killed any mortal instantly. But gods were far hardier. Though severely weakened, the Sea God's life force remained strong.

Fang Chang wasn't finished.

Releasing the trident, his arms shifted back into spider legs as he assumed his true form. Eight bladed limbs became a whirlwind of destruction, hammering the Sea God from sky to ground.

With his arms immobilized, every attempt to gather divine power was shattered by Fang Chang's relentless assault.

"Help me—NOW!" the Sea God screamed as his vitality drained away.

But the God of Slaughter remained entangled with the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, while the lesser deities exchanged glances before unleashing their incomplete formation's attack prematurely.

Fang Chang didn't flinch. He kept hammering the Sea God until the last possible moment—then pivoted, lifting the broken god as a living shield between himself and the descending strike.

"NO—!"

The Sea God's scream cut off as the seven-colored beam of concentrated divine power struck him squarely. The energy punched through his body before dissipating against Fang Chang beneath.

The earth quaked. A colossal dust cloud swallowed the battlefield. Even the clashes between Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, and others paused as all eyes turned toward the impact zone.

When the haze cleared, a humanoid figure emerged from the ruins—Fang Chang, swaying slightly, his right shoulder and half his torso vaporized. Yet even now, the missing flesh was regenerating at visible speed.

The observers held their breaths.

As the smoke fully dissipated, Fang Chang stood revealed—his wounds nearly sealed, a new arm sprouting from the stump.

Then he stooped, retrieving the Sea God's mutilated corpse before ascending skyward. At the apex of his climb, he hurled the remains toward the forest's edge—where his spiderlings waited.

A god's flesh...

What fine nourishment for my children.
