Chapter 194 - Chapter 194 - The Chaos Between Humans and Non-Humans 02.

[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]

Third Person POV

Kaedwen.

...

...

Totó, Madara's griffin, was in the courtyard of Kaer Morhen castle, playing with a piece of meat while feeling satisfied.

Ciri chuckled when she saw him walk toward the piece of meat she had thrown.

"You're here?"

The feminine voice came from the side.

Ciri looked back, seeing Triss approaching.

"I'm feeding him," she said with a mischievous smile.

"Why not try doing it with magic?" Triss asked, raising an eyebrow. Surely, it would be good training with what Ciri had already been doing over the past few weeks.

"Alright, I'll try," she said, focusing on the piece of meat among those she had brought—after all, Geralt and the others had made mutton that Vesemir brought back after returning from the capital—she had come outside to feed the griffin.

She closed her eyes, pointed her hand at the piece of meat in front of her, and imagined levitating the food. Automatically, her eyes began to glow in a green hue, already able to access her inner power after years, and the meat began to tremble, lifting with some difficulty as Ciri concentrated.

"Very good, very good, Ciri," Triss said with a smile, impressed.

"You're developing this magic like I've never seen in anyone. Now try to bring it to the griffin," she requested.

Ciri focused, carrying the piece of meat while Totó patiently waited for the food to reach his beak, watching it fly with a green aura around it.

However, just as he was about to snap the meat, he surprised both Ciri and Triss when his body exploded into smoke without any warning.

"What is this?" Triss widened her eyes, watching the piece of meat fall to the ground. In the empty spot, there was no sign of Totó anymore. He had simply vanished.

"Madara... he summoned him," Ciri murmured, looking at the empty space.

"What do you mean summoned?" Triss demanded an explanation, unsatisfied with just that one word.

Ciri looked at her.

"He can summon the griffin through the contract he has with him. I don't understand it very well, but Madara can teleport Totó to wherever he is whenever he wants... He's the only one who can do that... So he must need Totó for some reason..." the young woman murmured, looking at the empty space again.

At the same time, Madara was moving through the trees in the region, but realized it still wouldn't be enough as he hadn't yet received any information from the clones he had sent in all directions after leaving the village in search of the sorcerer.

He needed a view of the entire area.

With that in mind, the Uchiha jumped into the air, cutting his finger to summon the griffin mid-jump. Totó was surprised for a moment, seeing himself falling before feeling two feet on his back, but quickly opened his wings to avoid falling and began gliding as Madara was already standing on his back and the griffin quickly understood.

"I need you to take me to a high altitude so we can observe the region," Madara requested.

The griffin quickly nodded, obeying his master and flapping his wings, gaining altitude. It was already dark, and Madara had sent clones in every direction in search of information.

He continued flying over the region, passing by rivers and forests, until one of his clones transmitted information to him: to the south, passing on memories of a city with a mixed population of non-humans and humans, although the latter were fewer in the city, Madara had destroyed a nearby soldier camp two days ago.

Quickly, the griffin flapped its wings harder, advancing in the indicated direction at full speed.

Madara steadied his feet with chakra while remaining standing on it the entire time without losing balance.

It took a while, but they finally arrived. Madara could see the fire lights of the city in the distance—there were several bonfires lit within the walls.

He remained hidden in the air, analyzing the city as soon as he entered its airspace. His Sharingan allowed him to see in more detail what was happening there while the city seemed completely agitated. However, besides seeing non-humans everywhere with weapons, the human people were being forcefully dragged by the non-humans.

"What kind of revolt happened here?" Madara found it strange, since there were no more king's soldiers there; he himself had eliminated them all.

That made him think that the sorcerer who had tortured that family might be behind this as well, since it was the only part of the region that remained in complete chaos.

He leaned forward slightly, and Totó began to descend in altitude, getting closer to the city. Then, Madara crossed his fingers, performing the shadow clone jutsu.

Immediately, a group of clones identical to him appeared in the air and began to fall from the same height, invading the city.

The original Madara remained flying, climbing back up, with his Sharingan activated to better analyze the surroundings while his clones would take care of the situation.

Quickly, the clones began landing on rooftops, advancing in all directions of the city.

Internally, the city was in pure chaos.

Humans were being arrested—men, women, even children.

"Please! Why are you doing this?" a woman screamed desperately, being dragged by two dwarves.

"Shut up, human! You conspired against us! You want to kill our women and children!" one of them shouted angrily.

"How can you say something like that? I've lived here for years... I have two children! How can you accuse us like this?!" the woman pleaded, but received a slap from one of the dwarves.

"Quiet!" he said with hatred in his eyes, knowing very well what the human soldiers had done in the other attacked cities.

One of Madara's clones landed silently on a rooftop, analyzing everything.

He saw the woman being dragged with a bleeding nose to the central square, along with other humans. There were even children there, frightened and huddled together, crying, watching their neighbors simply consider them enemies and treat them like monsters.

"This world is rotten on its own..." Madara thought, observing coldly. "No matter what happens, whoever has the advantage will always subjugate the weaker ones."

He didn't stop murmuring to himself.

This world managed to be even more rotten than the world of ninjas, where chakra ruled everything, even though he wasn't the original Madara. There, at least, power decided things, but there was still balance.

Here, being a much weaker world, all it took was a rumor, a poorly handled emotion, for neighbors to turn against each other. All it took was the power to speak and to hurt, and people here didn't think twice before acting...

He remembered the peasants who blamed him when he woke up in this world, when he saved those men from bandits on a road carriage—

Even after saving their lives. Didn't they call him a monster? Demanding he should have arrived earlier and saved their dead relatives, without even thanking him for being alive...

And now.

"Humans hating non-humans..." he murmured, seeing the chaos.

"And the non-humans, now, wanting revenge against the humans of the city. Do they think this will change anything?"

Madara knew exactly what would happen.

The humans, largely, in a few years, would hunt the non-humans, then the sorcerers, the witchers, blaming them for everything bad in their lives.

On the other side, the non-humans would do the same when given the chance.

And so the cycle of hatred would never cease.

"So be it." he murmured.

"Even if I have fought against the humans in favor of the non-humans... I will find out what really happened here, and if necessary... I will act against the non-humans themselves."

Madara then decided. And without hesitation, moved toward the square.

In that same square, a sword came down.

Blood gushed as the body of a man was decapitated.

An elf raised the man's head, who had lived for two decades in the city, while his children looked on horrified at the scene, locked in a cell beside the square, screaming as they saw their father killed like that.

The elf displayed the head like a trophy before a crowd of non-humans who shouted, demanding blood.

"We found swords in this man's house! He was conspiring!" the elf accused, justifying the freshly carried out decapitation.

Everyone there celebrated... as if they were finding satisfaction in watching a human being killed right there in front of them, in front of his children, acting just like the humans who had been killing them had acted—like barbarians.

From atop the houses, someone ran at high speed and leapt more than 10 meters into the air, and no one there managed to see the blur that moved through the air behind the elf, landing on that platform like a shadow with red patterns on his clothing.

Until he reached the elf with his sword raised.

In a single motion, he cut the elf in half starting from the head and ending at the testicles.

His body split open before everyone there, suddenly.

The victory cries turned to terror as they saw the split body collapse to the ground on either side while blood exploded across the platform.

A figure in a black cloak, with red banners printed on it, walked past the corpse calmly.

"It's him..." someone murmured, recognizing the outfit.

"Why are you killing humans?" Madara raised his voice before anyone could say anything else.

Though distorted in his disguise, resembling the voice the Akatsuki used in their projections, everyone understood it perfectly.

"He... he killed!" an elven woman exclaimed, ignoring Madara's question in hysteria, seeing her husband's body at Madara's feet.

The scene was grotesque, with the elf's guts scattered across the ground and the decapitated human's head lying beside it after being dropped.

"Yes, I killed." Madara replied coldly.

"And I won't stop until I know exactly what is happening here. Why are you killing the humans?"

He looked directly at the non-humans gathered there.

"It doesn't matter if we helped or not the non-humans against the king's soldiers.

I won't let a massacre happen on the other side either without a clear justification."

He added.

Killing that human with those words earlier... was enough for Madara to act against the elf.

"The humans were planning to betray us!" a dwarf said angrily.

"They were going to open the gates for the king's army to enter the city! That was our response! And we'll stack human heads for all to see our answer."

"What army?" Madara asked, his tone rising in anger.

"There's nothing in the region. Who said there's an army coming?"

"There is! You're lying! The sorcerer told us!" another elf shouted, drawing a bow and pointing it at Madara.

"Tell me..." Madara said, now in a calmer tone,

"Did this sorcerer wear a purple cloak?"

The elf hesitated, furrowed his brow, and then nodded.

"Funny..." Madara began, staring at the archer.

"I just came across an elven couple tortured by a sorcerer in a purple cloak in a village not far from here. He wanted information about our group."

He paused and then continued.

"He didn't seem friendly at all when he killed two children and an elven father, leaving only the children's mother barely alive."

Madara stared at him without blinking, daring the archer to shoot.

He knew that if he did... it would be his end.

The elf swallowed hard, lowering the bow slightly, while the other non-humans around began glancing at each other in doubt and tension.

"What's going on here?" one of the groups asked, as they began approaching the square and saw the elf's corpse lying at Madara's feet.

"He... did he kill him?" Another from the same group asked, pointing at Madara.

"Yes! He just arrived and killed him!" exclaimed the elven woman, who seemed to be the dead elf's partner.

"He's going to kill us too!"

"He's a human! He's going to open the gate!" others began to shout, panic spreading as they grabbed weapons and looked at Madara as their mortal enemy.

Madara looked at them all, his brow furrowed beneath his hood.

'A bunch of idiots...' he thought.

"People in this world make up anything when they're under the grip of their own emotions."

It was at that moment that the arrow was fired.

It came from the same archer who had hesitated earlier.

But now, without any warning, he shot at Madara.

Madara, with quick movements, raised his hand.

He caught the arrow just a few centimeters from his face, spun it with his fingers, and without hesitation, hurled it back with absurd force using only his hand.

The arrow struck the archer's neck with a speed greater than any bow there could have launched.

He fell to the ground trying to speak, but could only emit sounds of agony—his neck was completely destroyed as blood spread while he died.

The group of non-humans was horrified by the scene.

But soon, it turned into fury, and they charged at Madara.

He had no choice.

"If you want chaos... then you shall have it."

Without distinguishing between humans or non-humans, Madara charged into the crowd using a simple steel sword—the same one that had split the elf in half.

It didn't matter who it was—he would deal with anyone who insisted on keeping that chaos alive.
