Clarissa
As at four thirty am in the morning, I was sitting on the balcony over looking the swimming pool downstairs because I couldn't sleep.
The house felt so empty.
That's because you're home alone.
And something felt funny.
Some guards kept looking up from time to time. I mean I get the fact that they were ordered to but damn!
*********
I am home alone and since get going out wasn't an option, I was lying in the bed all cuddled up with my book in hand.
Well, not until I heard a knock on the door.
I jumped out of the bed and went to check. I opened the door to reveal a guard standing there.
"Ma'am you're needed downstairs."
That's new.
"Alright, I'll be there in a sec."
I walked towards the bed and put on my baseball boots and headed downstairs.
The guard opened the door for me to go outside.
"So what's up?" I asked.
"Sir's sister's planning on returning today, so she wants you to meet with her."
"Really?"
I was more than excited because this was my only chance to go out without Brandon scolding me or something.
"So are we going now or?"
I looked around and noticed Brandon's most trusted guard wasn't around.
"I parked the car outside."
"Oh-kay."
I followed the guard outside the house after I noticed the other guards weren't saying anything. There was a black Rolls Royce parked outside the house.
"Let me just call Bran---"
The guard snatched the phone from me and whistled.
"What are you..."
I felt my head get bashed with a stick and I was pushed into the car.
After a few minutes, I blacked out.
Brandon
"And..... it's in."
I smirked wickedly at Alan winning the seventh game of pool today.
Alan chuckled.
Then my phone started to ring. I checked to see the caller ID.
Cathia?
Why would she be calling?
"Hello?"
"Brandon, you told me Clarissa's home?"
"Yes?"
"She isn't."
"What?! Are you sure?"
"I had the guards search the whole house myself but one told me they saw her leaving the house."
Not again Clarissa.
"I'll get back to you." I said and ended the call.
"Alan, we need to get back to London."
I was not taking any chances now knowing all what Nathan has planned to do.
Clarissa
I tried setting myself free but then I realized I was tied to a chair. My sight was blocked because there was something covering my faces
"Let go of me!" I cried on top of my lungs.
My eyes closed due to the rate at which the light was hurting them when someone took off the coverup from my face.
I blinked a number of times before finally opening them up.
"Hello Clarissa."
My heart skipped a beat.
Which means you died?
"You?"
He smirked and tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Why are you doing this?" I said slowly.
He slapped me.
I whimpered.
"Told you I am and will always be your number one clinger."
Ryan.
I was dumbfounded.
Ryan was my best friend since childhood. We laughed, played and did the craziest things together. He was never one to even hurt a fly.
"How could you do this to me Clarissa? What happened to " we will always stick together" Huh tell me? We get separated for like five to six years and I get back to see you as the wife of that nasty bastard!"
We didn't get separated, we just lost contact because he was adopted.
"Is that why you're doing this? We could just talk this out, we are still friends, aren't we?"
Alan turned to look at me.
"If you never knew, I'm in love with you Clarissa, I always was."
"Wha-what?" I whispered.
Ryan never told me this. Ever since we met each other from kindergarten till he left, whenever a topic like this was brought up, he'd either shy away or ignore it.
And even if he was saying this now, kidnapping me wasn't the answer.
"I'm sorry Ryan, I'm with someone else and I can't leave him."
