Chapter 110 - Chapter 110 Mysterious and elusive

Chapter 110

Soren looked at the letter in his hand, learning of Kingsley Shacklebolt's death.

Although his goal had been accomplished, and the character that became the biggest obstacle to pureblood glory in the original story was successfully eliminated, there was not much joy in Soren's eyes.

He understood clearly that Kingsley had done nothing wrong; he simply acted according to what he believed was right. If blame were to be assigned, it lay in differing stances between him and Kingsley!

In the original story, after Voldemort's downfall, Kingsley became the Minister of Magic, and it was he who decided to employ Harry, Ron, Hermione, and other pro-Muggle wizards as political backbone, which led to a series of laws targeting pureblood families. It could be said that the decline of pureblood families was closely tied to Kingsley's role!

It is often said that those who achieve great things do not sweat the small stuff, and sacrifices must be made for greater benefits. Soren did not regret his decision, but emotionally, he was not at ease. At this moment, he could probably relate to the feelings of Dumbledore when the members of the Order of the Phoenix were falling one by one.

Soren sometimes wondered what it would be like if he had transmigrated into the Weasley family, the Longbottom family, the Shacklebolt family, or the Pruitt family instead.

He chuckled to himself, realizing he was overthinking.

Soren pulled his thoughts back and took out a piece of parchment, which contained a long list of pureblood families.

He first crossed out the name "Lestrange"—only the two brothers remaining in prison were left, and they posed little threat; they wouldn't accomplish much.

Then he crossed out the name "Rowl"—the Rowl family had likewise been left with only Dolphine Rowl in prison.

Given the current situation, if Voldemort returned, his available forces would significantly diminish, and his momentum would far lag behind that in the original story.

In this ebb and flow, Dumbledore's faction would likely gain the upper hand, which was not what Soren wanted to see.

What he truly wanted was for the factions of Dumbledore and Voldemort to maintain a delicate balance, as that would better highlight his own value and make both sides aware of the importance of gaining his support, allowing him to benefit from the chaos.

Soren knew that in this world, he was not inherently a protagonist with a halo; no matter how fast he grew, he could never match the influence of Dumbledore and Voldemort in the coming years. The idea of a tripartite balance was something that he hadn't even considered; his short-term goal, frankly speaking, was just to secure a means of self-protection.

This was not an impossible task; as long as he continued to weaken the powers of both factions appropriately, keeping them in perpetual balance, they would not be able to recklessly provoke more enemies, thus granting him more time to grow.

As for long-term goals, let's not mention those.

Thus, Kingsley, belonging to the Shacklebolt family and also part of the Order of the Phoenix, had another reason—one that he had to die.

Soren shifted his gaze down and crossed out the name "Shacklebolt" in the "Order of the Phoenix Faction" section.

He put away the parchment and sighed lightly. He realized that he had been sighing more often lately.

Kingsley's death was indeed something he had orchestrated.

It was a meticulously crafted plan that had been set in motion long before the summer holiday.

He had provided the Ministry of Magic with anonymous information about nearby villages, and he had also leveraged friendships to have Scrimgeour send Kingsley there.

The young werewolf had been captured earlier in the Alley by Bartholomew and Annis. Under the combined magic of the two, the young wolf had been brainwashed into being the most loyal servant; deep fear had been implanted in his heart, and he no longer had the courage to resist orders.

In the Quidditch World Cup camp, the young werewolf's figure was seen during the Lestrange family massacre.

Afterward, the young werewolf was sent to infiltrate the Alley and join Fenrir Greyback's werewolf community. He had originally just been intended as a nail driven into the werewolf ranks—a kind of serendipitous opportunity that might come in handy at some point.

Little did he know that it wouldn't be long before the Rowl family's downfall arrived.
