They actually strategized before fighting Luca, deciding to start with a heavy mecha whose goal was to drain him of spiritual energy while forcing him into a deadlock before the medium and light mechas could swoop in to ensure victory.
But what deadlock?
All it amounted to was the heavy mecha taking hits like a sitting duck!
Who would've thought that Luca would be able to find the vulnerable point of the shield, then repeatedly attack the same spot so accurately that it caused the shield's integrity to fail?
The distressed heavy mecha pilot couldn't even run, not when all he focused on was heavy defense!
So Luca didn't even have to move much.
