Jack stepped in front of me while I hid behind him. He was large enough... powerful enough to hide behind. I was small, he wasn't.
And everything became a spectacule.
Jack towered over Ryder but he didn't back down. He kept trying the reach me.
"Kai, please...talk to me"
"It doesn't look like she wants to talk to you, may I suggest you take a step back?"
"Respectfully, this is not your business. I just want to make sure that she's okay" Ryder told Jack.
"If I'm okay?" I whispered and got out of hiding.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"You want to see if I'm okay?" I asked him again.
It didn't sound right to my ears. "Do I look okay to you, asshole!" I screamed at him.
"No" He watched me…like really watched me.
Like he was seeing me for the very first time.
Like he was just realizing just how much damage he'd done. He blew up my entire life and he was just realizing that he wrecked me?
