Aurora's eyes narrowed as she observed him, but Micah didn't notice. He was too lost in his own story.
"I thought... if I just worked hard, if I just kept going to auditions, maybe one day I'd be able to pay off all the debt and give him something back," Micah said, his voice becoming a little more bitter.
"But that's when I learned the truth. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn't catch up. I paid off a third of my debt, but the interest kept piling up. The deeper I went, the harder it was to escape."
He stopped for a moment, his eyes flashing with frustration.
"So, I did what I had to do. I started building connections. I made deals with people. But it wasn't enough. I realized if I wanted to get anywhere, I had to give up something else. And that's when it all went wrong.
