Thank goodness, just as I finished the porridge, there was finally a knock at the door.
After Lanst's gloomy "Come in," Neilshis pushed the door open.
He wore a dark gold tailcoat over a vintage-styled white shirt, his long hair cascading loosely over his shoulders as if dusted with starlight. Handsome and refined, he was a sight to behold.
"Lanst, when did you become a full-time babysitter?!" he teased with a light laugh, as refreshing as drifting clouds in a clear blue sky.
The elegant smile vanished from Lanst's face, replaced by a glacial glare. "The palace can't be left unattended. If everything's settled, return at once." The disdain in his tone was palpable.
Clearly, the brothers' relationship was far from harmonious.
Neilshis stretched lazily. "It's barely dawn. Instead of keeping me company by the crystal coffin in the basement, you're here spoon-feeding porridge to your pet human. Isn't that a bit..."
A shadow flashed—Lanst materialized between Neilshis and the bed.
