Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Students vs Teachers

Chapter 44: Students VS Teachers.

(A few hours later…)

The room was dim now, lit only by the fading glow of the TV's "Are You Still Watching?" screen and the soft silver hue of the moon filtering through the window blinds.

Under a loosely draped blanket on the couch, Mina and Harue lay tangled together, skin against skin, warm and quiet. Their clothes lay in a scattered trail around the floor—her tank top tossed over the coffee table, his shirt hanging from the back of the couch, and his uniform jacket crumpled somewhere near their feet.

Mina let out a long, content sigh as she shifted a little closer against his chest.

"…I'm sore," she muttered, burying her face into his skin. "Like, everywhere. What are you, a stallion?"

Harue blinked, a grin tugging at his lips.

"A horse? Seriously?"

"Seriously," she groaned dramatically. "You've got stamina like some kind of Quirk-enhanced thoroughbred."

"Guess I do have some horsepower," Harue replied cheekily—and then, without warning, he pinched her butt under the blanket.

"Hey!" she yelped, smacking his chest with the flat of her hand as she laughed.

"Just making sure your muscles are still working," he said with mock innocence.

"You're lucky I can barely move or you'd be a pile of bones right now."

"Worth it."

Mina giggled again, relaxing into him as her fingers reached up and gently threaded through his unruly orange hair, twirling a few strands around.

"You know," she murmured, "you keep saying you're gonna cut this, but it just keeps getting longer."

Harue let out a soft chuckle, his voice low and tired in a comforting way. "Yeah… it's been getting kinda wild lately. Thinking I'll trim it soon. Before I start looking like a fire-breathing hedgehog or something."

Mina hummed in agreement, brushing the hair back from his forehead. "Mmm… don't go too short, though. I like it a little wild."

A comfortable silence settled over them, filled only by the sound of their breathing and the occasional hum from the TV.

But eventually, Harue exhaled and gently pulled himself up, careful not to tug the blanket off her. Mina watched him with a pout.

"You leaving already?" she asked, voice soft, almost sleepy.

He reached for his pants, beginning to dress. "Yeah. I probably should. Your parents definitely shouldn't catch me like this."

Mina groaned dramatically and flopped back into the couch. "Ugh, they aren't even supposed to be back 'til late…"

She trailed off when her eyes accidentally drifted to him—fully upright now, still bare from the waist up as he pulled on his pants.

Her breath caught for a moment.

Harue's tall, lean form stood outlined against the low light—standing at around 6'3, his body was muscular but not bulky, defined more by sharp tone than sheer size. Smooth, scarred lightly from training, his back and shoulders shifted with every motion like sculpted lines in motion.

Mina stared just a second too long before realizing it, her face flaring a deeper shade of pink.

Harue noticed.

He turned slightly, grinning smugly as he reached for his shirt. "See something you like?"

"Sh-shut up," Mina muttered, diving under the blanket in embarrassment.

Harue laughed softly, slipping his shirt on and adjusting his collar, then crouched beside the couch. He leaned in and pressed a warm kiss to her forehead, brushing a hand through her wild pink hair.

"I'll see you tomorrow."

Still flustered, Mina peeked at him from under the blanket. "Yeah… tomorrow."

As he reached the door and slipped on his shoes, Mina called softly, "Goodnight, firehead."

Harue paused.

He turned back, walked up to her, and without another word, leaned in and kissed her again—this time gently, slowly, savoring it.

When they parted, he gave her a small, meaningful smile.

"Goodnight, Pinky."

And then he stepped out into the cool night air, the door closing softly behind him.

The chilling wind reminded him what he had just done.

'Sorry my brothers I'm no longer pure'. He thought jokingly as he then made his way back home.

[Harue's POV]

Time moved quickly.

One second you're drowning in textbooks and practice tests, the next—bam. The last day of June is gone, and suddenly July shows up.

End-of-term exams hit fast, but they went by even faster.

I'll admit, it was a little surreal watching everyone scramble and panic in their own ways. Kaminari tried to plug his brain into the outlet for extra brainpower. Sero tried to barter answers with snacks. Even Bakugo—somehow—ended up in a silent death match with his history book.

But Mina?

Mina did great.

Way better than she would've in the original timeline.

Her grades weren't scraping the bottom of the barrel like they did in canon—definitely not second-to-last. Not with me around. I made sure of that. Late-night tutoring sessions, flashcards, study battles on the phone and in my room and okay, maybe a few reward kisses when she nailed the hard questions.

Okay, maybe more than a few.

Things between us had been… heating up. Slowly, but definitely not quietly.

We weren't exactly hiding our relationship anymore, but we weren't waving it around either. Still, we almost got caught a few times.

Both our parents have been looking at us with suspicion.

Guess you could say we've been cultivating our relationship quite nicely.

Dual cultivation. Heh.

God, I've read too many reincarnator webnovels.

Still… things were going smooth. No drama. No villains crashing through the windows. Just peaceful, awkward, hormonal teenage romance.

But that peace was about to end.

Today wasn't just another school day.

Today was the start of the practical exam.

The summer air buzzed with heat as we stood outside in the wide, open training field—our entire class lined up in hero suits. The sun bore down on us, cicadas screeching in the distance, the tension thick in the air.

Everyone stood tall but some more confident than others.

In front of us, the teachers stood in a line—Aizawa with his usual deadpan stare, Present Mic unusually quiet for once, and even Cementoss and Midnight standing at attention. All eyes turned to Aizawa as he began to talk.

"Right, the test exercise will begin shortly, for your interest you can fail this test." His eyes sharply scanned us as he then continued.

I hear Jirou muttered to her self. "Why are there so many teachers here tho?"

Most of the class on the other hand were excited as they thought this would be the same as the entrance exams after being given "info" by class 1-B.

But Principal Nezu was here to crush that hope.

"SORRY, I'M AFRAID NOT!! DUE TO VARIOUS REASONS, WE'RE CHANGING THE CONTENTS OF THE TEST, STARTING TODAY!" The Mouse/Bear creature exclaimed as he popped out of Aizawas scarf.

As the class listened in shock as the principal explained his reasoning.

(AN: This is the same as in cannon so I'm skipping the explanation. )

"…..Henceforth we will have you form pairs to engage in combat with one of these educators!" Nezu finished explaining as he waved his hand at the UA teachers.

As the others were standing in shock, I look a head and met the gaze of Aizawa as he grinned and stepped forward.

"First Dai is teamed up with Yaoyorozu"

"Against me!!!"

Huh guess they thought that I needed a humbling.

Seeing as Aizawa is the perfect counter towards me.

But I also thought that pairing me up with Midoriya against All Might was more likely.

Though seeing as I can fly, they might have realized that it be pointless.

'But… can you truly stop me Sensei?' I couldn't contain myself as I smirked back at him.

This will be fun.
