Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: If You Don’t Stop, I Will Shoot Through The Wall!

A Bold New Experiment

Inside a dimly lit garage workshop, David carefully packed the cut-up Hex Gems into a secure case.

Their soft, pulsating blue glow flickered against the metallic walls.

He exhaled sharply, snapping the case shut.

This was it.

A potential game-changer.

Without wasting time, David pulled out his holo-comm and dialed a familiar number.

"Jack. Get to Vic's clinic ASAP."

---

Jack's Arrival

It took less than ten minutes before the heavy hum of a Yaiba Kusanagi echoed through the alleyway.

Jack swung off his bike, his signature gold-plated pistols strapped to his belt.

He stomped into Victor's clinic, his cybernetic limbs whirring softly.

"Hey, David." He frowned. "Why the hell did you call me out here so early? Something big?"

David's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Bigger than you think."

He stretched out a hand.

"Now, hand over your 'Golden Ruthless Ladies.'"

Jack froze.

His eyes narrowed.

"The hell you want my guns for?"

David didn't answer immediately.

Instead, he turned them over in his hands, inspecting their structure.

A small smirk played on his lips.

"Not bad." He nodded. "Good stability. But the damage output? Not enough. Firing rate? Lacking. You've felt it too, haven't you?"

Jack blinked.

He hesitated—then sighed.

"Yeah… yesterday in combat, they felt kinda weak when paired with the [Source Project] armor. They hit hard, but not hard enough."

"Exactly."

David set the guns down on the workbench.

"That's why you're here. I'm gonna mod them."

Jack's eyes widened.

Even Victor, who had been watching silently, raised an eyebrow.

"Modify… weapons?" The ripperdoc leaned in. "David, since when the hell do you know anything about gunsmithing?"

David grinned.

"Since last night."

Silence.

Jack and Victor stared.

Then Jack burst out—

"Last NIGHT?!"

He ran a hand down his face.

"David, hermano, you do realize I just got these beauties, right? You mess 'em up, I'm gonna be pissed."

"Relax."

David patted his shoulder.

"I know what I'm doing."

His confidence didn't help.

Jack still looked skeptical as hell.

"Alright, fine. But if you screw this up—"

David chuckled.

"Then I'll buy you a new pair myself."

With that, he motioned toward Victor.

"Vic, I need your workbench."

The ripperdoc hesitated, then sighed.

"Fine, fine. Just don't wreck my equipment."

"No promises." David smirked.

Then, he shoved both of them out the door.

The Experiment Begins

With the clinic door locked behind him, David got to work.

He disassembled the twin pistols with precision, laying their components across the workbench.

His fingers moved like a surgeon, carefully extracting the internal mechanisms.

The first step?

Carving a new core section into the gun base using a micro-laser.

Sparks flew as he worked, the air filling with the scent of burnt metal.

Next—

The power source.

David grabbed a Hex Gem fragment, its vibrant blue glow pulsing in his palm.

Using surgical tweezers, he carefully embedded the gem into the gun's core slot.

A soft hum resonated through the workbench.

David's eyes flickered with excitement.

"Perfect fit."

Now came the hardest part—

Wiring the circuits.

Using a micro-laser guide, he meticulously connected the firearm's internal systems to the Hex Gem's energy flow.

This was where things could go wrong.

One mistake—**one unstable connection—**and the gun could overload.

But David's hands were steady.

After two intense hours…

The first pistol was complete.

He grabbed it, testing the weight.

It felt sleek. Balanced. Different.

Then—

He pulled the trigger.

A brilliant blue energy bolt shot across the room, slamming into the reinforced wall.

The entire workshop vibrated.

David let out a slow exhale.

"...Damn."

It worked.

---

Outside the Clinic

Meanwhile, Jack and Victor sat at Misty's shop, nervously sipping coffee.

The sound of occasional power surges, sparks, and muffled curses echoed from the clinic.

Jack fidgeted.

"Lao Wei… you really think he won't break my guns?"

Victor shrugged.

"No clue. I just hope he doesn't break my workbench."

The two sat in anxious silence.

Then—

BANG!

A muffled explosion.

Jack bolted upright.

"SHIT! That sounded bad!"

He rushed toward the clinic, banging on the door.

"DAVID! If you break my guns, I swear—"

The door suddenly swung open.

David stood there, grinning.

In his hands—

The upgraded Golden Ruthless Ladies.

"Relax, Jackie. Your girls are better than ever."

Jack snatched them away.

His eyes widened as he felt the difference.

They were lighter, but sturdier.

The grips felt smoother, more ergonomic.

And the biggest change?

The power core hummed softly with a neon blue glow.

Jack blinked.

"What the… what did you do?"

David smirked.

"Took your regular electromagnetic kinetic pistols… and turned them into Hex-tech energy weapons."

Jack hesitated—then raised one pistol.

He fired.

A blue energy bullet shot through the air, slamming into a nearby trash bin.

The entire thing exploded on impact.

Jack's jaw dropped.

"Holy shit!"

Victor whistled.

"Now that's some next-level modding."

Jack stared at the guns in awe.

Then he turned to David, eyes gleaming.

"Alright, hermano. Now I definitely owe you a drink."

David chuckled.

"Told you to trust me."

---

A New Power in Night City

As Jack marveled at his new weapons, a thought crossed David's mind.

This was just the beginning.

If he could integrate Hex Gem technology into guns—

What else could he upgrade?

What other weapons, armor, or cyberware could be pushed beyond their limits?

A dangerous smile crept onto his lips.

"Night City's about to see some serious changes."

TO BE CONTINUED…

What's Next?

Will David's weapon modifications draw unwanted attention?

How will Jack use his new firepower?

What's David's next target for Hex-tech enhancement?
