When it was over, she lay trembling, her chest heaving, utterly undone. Lilith sat breathless atop the long oak table, her body humming with the aftershocks of pleasure. Her limbs were boneless, her skin burning.
Hades rose slowly, his eyes dark and glittering with satisfaction. He brushed his thumb gently across her swollen lips, then kissed her forehead, her cheek, her mouth to each kiss laced with a tenderness that made her heart ache.
"You are beautiful," he whispered against her skin.
Lilith could barely respond, still lost in the haze of sensation. But when her gaze finally met his, something unspoken passed between them, a hunger deeper than desire, a longing neither could deny any longer.
