Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Cassiopeia

Huh?

This was a forbidden technique that had been banned for tens of thousands of years!

Yet in Lin Fan's eyes, it was nothing more than basic stuff?!

The two girls stared at him in shock.

Beside them, Lordson also seemed deep in thought.

"A portal… is a… ten-thousand-year forbidden technique." After saying that, he gazed at Lin Fan with a complicated expression on his eyes.

Lordson was usually a man of few words. The fact that he spoke an entire nine-word sentence to Lin Fan was already an extraordinary event.

Lin Fan raised an eyebrow.

He hadn't expected that something as simple as a Twilight Portal would be considered an ancient, forbidden technique in this world.

Back in his previous life, when he played Minecraft, creating a Twilight Portal was indeed just basic stuff.

"Master—"

"There's nothing to ask. I know how to do it, and that's that. All you need to do now is follow me into the Twilight Forest."

Lilian wanted to ask more, but before she could, Lin Fan cut her off.

His indifferent gaze swept over her, making it clear he had no intention of continuing this conversation.

Sensing his cold tone, Lilian hesitated and decided not to push further.

Still, she began to piece things together.

Lin Fan had previously mentioned that when he visited the Twilight Forest, there were no residents there.

The Twilight Forest being uninhabited was something that had happened tens of thousands of years ago.

If Lin Fan had knowledge of the Twilight Portal from that era… then he must have known about it for at least that long.

This thought made Lilian even more certain that her master was far from ordinary.

With their hearts full of speculation, they followed Lin Fan and stepped into the entrance of the Twilight Forest.

<+>

The Twilight Forest was very different from the main world.

It had a diverse range of biomes, most of which carried debuff effects that could make movement difficult for players.

As Lin Fan emerged from the portal, his eyes swept over the Twilight Forest.

Towering sky trees stretched high into the darkness, their branches adorned with sparse vines. The ground was covered with a sea of crimson flowers.

Now and then, a few rabbits and deer wandered past. A firefly flickered, momentarily lighting up the space before it drifted away.

There was no daylight in the Twilight Forest—only eternal night.

This meant the area was crawling with monsters at all times.

Zombies occasionally appeared out of nowhere, catching people off guard.

As the group stepped out of the portal, they took in the strange yet familiar sight of the Twilight Forest.

A surreal feeling washed over them.

For Heloi, in particular, this was her homeland.

She had been taken away from the Twilight Forest three thousand years ago.

Now, standing on its soil once again, she felt a mix of nervousness and excitement.

"It's really the Twilight Forest… I'm finally back…" she murmured, staring up at the towering sky trees.

Beside her, Lilian was also momentarily dazed, a complex emotion flickering in her eyes.

"The Twilight Forest… It's been so many years… I don't even know what it has become."

The two of them continued to reminisce.

Lin Fan watched the nostalgic expressions on their faces, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

They must have a lot of memories here.

After giving them a moment to process their emotions, Lin Fan turned to Heloi.

"Lead the way. Let's check out your home first."

He didn't have enough materials on him to craft a magic map, so he couldn't navigate easily.

But he hadn't come to the Twilight Forest to fight bosses anyway.

A map wasn't necessary.

With two living maps walking beside him, why would he need one?

Heloi led the group to her former home based on her memories.

Before them stood a massive stone-brick wall, its surface covered in moss and cracks, showing clear signs of centuries of weathering.

Lin Fan raised an eyebrow at the familiar architecture.

"Wait, isn't this the Naga's old nest?" He looked at Heloi in surprise.

He had suspected before that Heloi might be a Naga, but he hadn't expected her to actually be one.

Heloi glanced at Lin Fan's expression and explained, "Naga is just the name of the Serpent Lady race, not an individual name. Since all Naga look similar in their beast forms, many people mistakenly believe that 'Naga' is their actual name."

Hearing this, Lin Fan immediately understood.

Back in his previous life playing Minecraft, he only knew that there was a boss in the Twilight Forest called Naga, but he had never wondered how many Nagas existed.

He had always assumed that the Naga boss was a singular monster that respawned across the map.

It had never crossed his mind that the Naga were an actual race and that each one had its own name.

"Alright then, let's head inside."

After saying that, Lin Fan pulled out an iron pickaxe from his inventory, ready to break down the wall and enter.

His actions shocked Heloi.

"Master! What are you doing?!"

She quickly rushed forward and blocked his way.

Lin Fan looked at her, confused.

"Obviously, I'm going inside. Why else are we here?"

Seeing his serious expression, Heloi couldn't help but laugh helplessly.

"Even if you want to enter, you can't just break the wall down! If you force your way in, the palace guards will attack you."

Although Lin Fan was strong enough to defeat them easily, provoking the Naga guards was unnecessary.

After speaking, Heloi summoned a green light in her hand.

A swirling green portal suddenly appeared on the ground.

"We should enter through the palace teleportation gate—it's much faster."

As soon as she finished speaking, Heloi jumped into the portal without hesitation.

The others exchanged glances, then followed her in.

<+>

The portal led them to a massive underground chamber.

The air was damp, and the walls were lined with a few flickering torches, their flames nearly extinguished.

Every so often, a cold gust of wind blew through, making the room even darker.

The architecture was ancient, clearly centuries old, but the place was clean—a sign that it was still inhabited.

As soon as the group arrived at the entrance of the palace, two small green snakes slithered out.

These creatures had Naga-like features, but they were much smaller, only four or five blocks in size—nothing compared to the gigantic Naga boss, which was 32 blocks large.

"Who goes there?" The two small Nagas held iron swords, blocking Lin Fan and his group.

At that moment, Heloi stepped forward.

A faint green glow surrounded her.

"I am Cassiopeia, the Seventh Saintess of the Naga Clan."

Lin Fan: ???

What the hell?

Lin Fan turned to look at Heloi, stunned.

Her real name was Cassiopeia?!

Wasn't that the name of the snake lady in League of Legends?!

How did this turn into a crossover?

This was way too ridiculous.

And more importantly…

Didn't she say she couldn't remember her name?!

Just as Lin Fan was about to question her, Lilian suddenly spoke up.

"You're Cassiopeia? The Seventh Saintess of the Naga Clan?"

Lin Fan turned to her. "You know her?"

Lilian's expression became even more complicated.

"The Seventh Saintess of the Naga Clan is practically a legend. She was the strongest Naga Saintess in hundreds of thousands of years and once ruled over the Twilight Forest."

She looked at Heloi in disbelief.

Heloi had claimed to have forgotten her name.

Yet now, it turned out she was a legendary figure?!

She had been hiding this all along!
