Chapter 115: Raditz Arrives Early
In reality, it had been completely taken apart and turned into a pile of scattered components. If Goku tried to ask Dr. Brief for a spaceship now, he'd probably just get handed a bunch of parts.
It all stemmed from Dr. Brief's concern for his two daughters—one loved research, and the other loved traveling across the galaxy.
But that's getting off topic...
So honestly, it wouldn't be surprising if Dr. Brief's spaceship turned out to be faster than Jaco's!
Tien nodded in agreement. "As long as I get to fight strong opponents, I don't really care about anything else!"
"I think the same way! As long as there are strong enemies, that's all I need!" Gohan nodded enthusiastically.
Chiaotzu floated beside Tien's shoulder and looked at him seriously. "Wherever you go, Tian, I'll go too!"
"Interesting..." From above, Piccolo turned his head to look at everyone. "Conquering alien planets sounds way more fun than conquering Earth."
"Wait, we're bringing Piccolo too...?" Krillin stepped back a little, looking uneasy.
"We definitely can't leave this dangerous guy alone on Earth!" Bulma declared, hands on her hips, once again making the decision for everyone.
She led everyone to a nearby spaceship. "This is the latest ship we developed."
"Whoa... It's huge! We can even train inside!" Goku beamed as he looked at the enormous, round-shaped spaceship.
Seeing Tien and Chiaotzu standing together with the rest of the group, Blonde Launch looked a little jealous. She raised her gun and aimed it at them.
"Tien! You trying to ditch me again?" she shouted, eyes brimming with tears and full of grievance.
"H-Hey, Launch, calm down! Nobody said you can't come, right?" Krillin reached out in a panic, trying to calm her down.
"Hmph..." Launch responded with a grunt and pointed the gun squarely at Tien, demanding fiercely, "Well? What do you say?"
"I... I have no problem with it!" Tien stammered, shrinking back under her fierce gaze, sweat pouring from his forehead.
"Pfft... Such a violent human. Honestly, it'd be better if her kind went extinct," Jaco muttered as he watched Launch brandishing her gun.
"I'll go tell Chi-Chi real quick!"
Seeing how lively the group was, Goku grabbed Bulma's phone and mumbled a few vague words to Chi-Chi to gloss things over.
Meanwhile, Bulma proudly pointed to the spaceship and started explaining its features.
"This ship has a 15-meter interior diameter—plenty of space. It also has an environment simulation system—"
But no one was really listening. The group had already started boarding, running their hands over the interior with expressions of awe.
Lin Qi followed casually. Behind him, Bulma stood with her hands on her hips, shouting in frustration, "What happened to basic manners? Can't you wait until I finish talking?"
By the time Lin Qi had explored the ship, black smoke was already billowing from the cockpit, and the control stick had been snapped clean off.
Sparks were flying everywhere, with occasional arcs of electricity.
Everyone was yelling and blaming each other. "I told you we should let me or Tights pilot it! Why did you have to mess with it?!"
Lin Qi glanced around with the corner of his eye, then calmly disembarked. "They broke it. Not a single one of them knows how to properly fly a ship."
"Young Master Lin Qi, your food delivery..." A robot rolled up toward him.
"What the—?!" Bulma's eyes widened as she rushed back into the ship, only to find a total mess.
"I just wanted to try it out..." Goku muttered awkwardly, lowering his head as he held the half-snapped control stick in his hand.
"I didn't think it'd break so easily..."
"Oh my god..." Yamcha covered his face, unable to bear the sight. "You don't even know how to drive a car, and you think you can fly a spaceship?!"
Carrying bags of takeout, Lin Qi teleported away in an instant. These guys were always this noisy.
Looks like joining the Galactic Patrol isn't happening anytime soon...
Hopefully, they'll drop that idea altogether. If they bump into that real estate tycoon Frieza mid-trip... well...
Three months later, when Lin Qi returned to give Dr. Brief some high-tech gadgets, he heard the follow-up.
Goku and the others had been pretty lucky. They didn't run into Frieza and made it safely to Galactic Patrol HQ to take the entrance test.
Unfortunately, not a single one of them passed!
Well, not quite. Krillin and Chiaotzu technically did qualify, but Chiaotzu refused to be separated from Tien.
Krillin didn't want to stay at the Patrol alone either, so in the end, they all came back!
Lin Qi just shrugged, unconcerned, and casually asked, "So, where's Bulma today?"
"Oh... She went to Master Roshi's island. I heard Goku's got some kind of surprise planned," Dr. Brief said as he lit another cigarette.
"You ordering food again?" Dr. Brief swiveled his chair toward his computer. "What do you want this time?"
"You pick. I don't even know what those guys at home want to eat..."
Lin Qi found a seat, picked up a magazine, and started flipping through it as he waited for the food.
But just as he opened the magazine, he felt an unfamiliar energy spike.
Out over the sea—toward Master Roshi's island!
"Goku's surprise...?" Lin Qi frowned. Wasn't Raditz supposed to arrive two months from now?
"What?" Dr. Brief looked up from his keyboard when he heard Lin Qi mumbling.
But there was no sign of Lin Qi—just a magazine lying on the floor.
"He's gone already...? Didn't even wait for his food? I already placed the order!"
Whoosh—
By the time Lin Qi reappeared, he was met with a familiar scene: Raditz facing off against Goku and the others.
That signature battle armor, the scouter over his left eye, and his long, flowing black hair.
Next to him was Nappa—whose hair volume... yeah, no comparison.
"So that little brat is your son? Born from a human?" Raditz sneered as he looked at young Gohan in Goku's arms.
His scouter had already scanned everyone present, and Raditz was starting to feel a bit pressured.
What the hell? Weren't the reports saying Earth's population all had power levels under 300?
In truth, ever since Lin Qi began interfering, he'd been warning the Z Fighters now and then that even stronger enemies would be coming.
As a result, the Z Fighters were now far stronger than they had been in the original timeline.
The more Raditz thought about it, the angrier he got. He glared fiercely at Goku. "You look just like our father, but it's like you didn't inherit any of his Saiyan bloodlust!"
"The pride of the Saiyan race—the greatest warrior race in the universe—have you just thrown it all away, Kakarot?!"
"What the hell is wrong with you? All these years and you still haven't wiped out this planet's population?!" Raditz's voice was full of accusation.
