Chapter 118 – Full Moon Night, The Wait

The other Z Warriors also watched Raditz warily, fully on guard. Even though they could sense the enemy's strength, they were still determined to defend Earth to the death.

Just like in the original plot, a fierce battle quietly erupted.

Bulma, holding Gohan in her arms, hid behind Lin Qi. "Lin Qi, why aren't you helping…? If Earth is gone, how are you going to order takeout in the future?"

"You've got a point," Lin Qi nodded slightly, agreeing with her logic.

But in just moments, aside from Piccolo and Goku who could barely hold off Raditz, everyone else was already defeated and seriously injured after just one attack.

"I just remembered something. Raditz, did you bring any Saibamen?" Lin Qi teleported in front of Raditz, letting the enemy's punch land squarely on his body.

"You even know about Saibamen… You really aren't part of Frieza's army?!"

Raditz was surprised by Lin Qi's speed, but when his fist hit Lin Qi's stomach, it felt like he'd punched something unimaginably hard.

"Hey, hey, Lin Qi, you can't do that!" Goku pulled back his leg and protested in dissatisfaction.

"We haven't even finished our fight! Why are you butting in?!"

Goku had been looking forward to a good battle against a powerful foe, but if Lin Qi joined in, there'd be no need for him anymore.

"You really think you can beat Raditz?" Lin Qi shot him a glance.

"If you weren't teaming up with Piccolo, you'd already have lost. What 'fight' are you even talking about?"

Goku turned to look at Piccolo, stunned into silence.

"I'm talking to you!" Lin Qi ignored Raditz's incoming kick—it didn't even tickle.

"…Yes," Raditz quickly backed off and pulled out a transparent glass bottle.

Lin Qi seemed satisfied with what he saw—a bottle full of Saibamen. That would last quite a while.

He turned to the others, who had recovered after taking Senzu Beans. "A battle power of 1,200—he's perfect as a sparring partner for you guys."

"Here's the deal. You're going to stay here and help train everyone. As for Frieza, it'll still be up to Goku to take him down someday." Lin Qi placed a hand on Raditz's shoulder.

"Your little brother, yeah. He's an amazing guy."

"Him?!" Raditz scoffed, completely unconvinced. "No way!"

"I'm not asking. I'm telling you. You in or not?" Lin Qi's hand subtly tightened, and Raditz felt as if a mountain had landed on his shoulder.

"…Fine!" Raditz gritted his teeth and submitted.

Lin Qi nodded approvingly and withdrew his hand. "Now explain how to use the Saibamen, and then find a place for everyone to start training."

"Goku, Vegeta has a power level of 18,000. Nappa's around 6,000 to 7,000! They'll arrive on Earth in one year, so train hard!"

This time, Lin Qi didn't just vaguely mention future threats—he gave names and power levels directly.

"One year? Getting everyone's power level to increase twenty- or thirty-fold in that time… that won't be easy," Master Roshi murmured thoughtfully.

"Maybe Kami has a way!" Chiaotzu looked at Tien, whose expression was tense. "Don't worry, Tien!"

"They're that strong…" Tien's lips trembled slightly. "I'm not worried. I'm… excited!"

"The question of what to do after conquering the world is one step closer to being solved, hehe…" Piccolo grinned bloodthirstily and clenched his fists.

But Krillin was genuinely worried. Looking at everyone's mixed expressions, he said, "Two powerful Saiyans… Can we really handle them?"

Bulma, meanwhile, looked down at Gohan, who was dozing off in her arms. "What I want to know is… that real estate tycoon 'Fr-something'—isn't he supposed to be even more dangerous?!"

"But before all that, I want to know the secret of Super Saiyans!" Raditz tried to negotiate.

"Heh…" Lin Qi's eyes were full of scorn. "I'll tell you when Vegeta arrives on Earth."

"Damn…" Raditz hesitated. He had thought Lin Qi would just tell him after agreeing.

"Then don't expect to get the Saibamen either!" Raditz quickly flew into the air, left a threat, and took off.

"Should we chase him?" Krillin looked at Goku, then glanced at Lin Qi, unable to decide.

"He'll be back," Lin Qi scanned the group. At this point, who knew how far the plot had diverged?

He really didn't want Raditz to die, or Nappa for that matter… Saiyans were just too rare.

Especially Nappa—no other Saiyan was bald!

Once they defeated Beerus, he'd bring back Planet Vegeta and revive the Saiyan race entirely!

"But…" Lin Qi glanced at Goku and then at Gohan in Bulma's arms, lost in thought.

The key protagonist still needed room to grow!

Lin Qi stroked his chin. If Goku didn't die, he should still be able to visit King Kai's place, right?

There's no rule that says only the dead can go to the afterlife—look at Baba the Fortuneteller. At worst, he'd just spend some extra time using Instant Transmission to get everyone there.

"We can't leave such a threat on Earth, Lin Qi. You really should deal with that guy…" Bulma urged, noticing Lin Qi had gone quiet.

"Aren't you worried he'll destroy Earth?"

"Yeah! You have to take care of him before you go!" Oolong was trembling from head to toe.

"This is a matter of Earth's survival!" Piccolo said sternly, frowning.

Snapped out of his thoughts, Lin Qi glanced at Piccolo with amusement. "What, since when does the Demon King care about Earth?"

"Hmph. I'm the Demon King. I plan to conquer the world. If the world's destroyed, what would I conquer?" Piccolo retorted coldly.

Within half an hour, the sky gradually darkened. Night fell, and a full, round moon rose over the endless ocean.

A full moon night!

Lin Qi stood on the small island, staring at the moon and sighing. As expected, he shouldn't have gotten involved with Goku and the others so soon.

The plot had veered too far off track, and that was frustrating. If Goku didn't grow stronger, what was the point of the battles to come?

Just as Lin Qi sank into contemplation, a powerful energy blast suddenly streaked toward him. The ensuing explosion was like a tidal wave.

Kame House was blown away entirely. Goku, Piccolo, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Krillin rushed out of the smoke and debris, positioning themselves behind Lin Qi.

Master Roshi, leaning on his cane and coughing up black smoke, trembled as he muttered, "My… house!!"

And with the house reduced to ruins, the remaining people had long since fled to safety.
