The man looks at Eta as he makes a noise. He's trying to speak to Eta, but it is truly incoherent.
"Well I guess I know what it sounded like to Omega before they learned my melodies." Eta lightly shakes her head. "How to learn, how to learn?"
"How to learn, how to learn?" The man repeats exactly what Eta said. Even the tone of melody the same.
"Are you just copying my words?"
"Are you just copying my words?" Again in the exact same way.
"Interesting, you can actually perfectly copy my language, though it seems you don't understand."
He repeats it back once again with a slight smile.
Eta decides to test the man saying hundreds of words rapidly in various tones, pitches, and accents. Was he just copying through memory or something else entirely? Even with so many words and sounds and tone, he perfectly recreated it.
She decides to try other things that the man shouldn't be able to copy from creating materials with her glass brush to moving objects with the orb of space. The man imitated the actions perfectly, even somehow creating the tools but he couldn't recreate the phenomena.
"How are you able to recreate the tools, what is that made of?" Eta gets close to the barrier to see his tools.
They look exactly like Eta's tools in a grey scale. Her rainbow brush a gradient from black to white in his hands, her orb of galaxies barely more than a black orb out there.
"Maybe this could work then." Eta pulls out the scroll of laws and writes, The writer may understand all language.
The man copies it perfectly as he has been doing, creating his own scroll and writing what seems to be the same.
"Can you understand me? Are those tools able to recreate what they do in here?"
He blinks a few times. "Yes, what did you do?"
"Read what you copied now."
He looks down and raises an eyebrow. "Am I understanding you or are you understanding me?"
Eta smiles, "Couldn't say. Now then, hello. I am Eta."
He thinks for a moment, "Chi, I am Chi. I must ask, why have you invested so much to speak with me?"
"I'd like to know more about things outside my universe such as yourself and that seemingly infinite void. Like what are those other creatures around my universe, the ones that are almost pure black?"
Chi looks to the nearest one, a small monkey that doesn't even notice there's a conversation going on just a few feet away. "I call them the lost ones, ones who have become one with the Void."
Eta pulls out her brush to make a small notepad. "And are you not one with the void then?"
Once again, he pauses for a moment. "Yes and no, just due to being in the void, it has seeped into my being but I am still my own mind. I'd like to ask a question, what is this universe here?"
"This is what was left to me by my parents. They were beings sprung forth from the void that were not a part of it."
Chi nods, "So are you just to ask questions now?"
Eta nods in much the same manner as Chi.
The two beings make conversation for some time. They discuss reality and that of Chi's existence in the place where existence seems to die. Eta talks about her abilities and control over reality. That of Alpha, Gamma, and Omega. For the first time in millennia, Eta has a person she can converse with without fear of time.
Chi shows off that he can copy most things as he recreates all the tools on his side of the barrier. Each one just a grey-scaled version of Eta's godly tools.
"I wonder if they can do what mine do? Try to use the orb to pull one of the lost ones closer."
Chi points the orb to that same monkey lost one, recreating the movements that Eta uses. Some force pulls the monkey closer, though it still does not react to the stimulus.
Eta pauses, "Why are you trying to enter my universe Chi? Why do those not react to you?"
"Well for the second question, the lost ones are just around trying to expand that of the Void. I am very miniscule in comparison to your reality so they have little reason to interact with me. I am just trying to find refuge anyway I can. I have been roaming the Void for many eons now and I am tired of this place." Chi shakes his head. "I still don't understand why I can't enter your universe. Shouldn't your reality welcome one of reality?" His mouth curling downward.
Eta thinks to herself, why wouldn't Chi be able to enter the universe? The law is 'The Void has no place in this universe.' That would mean he's considered the void or something in the same vein.
She springs up from her relaxed position. "Apologies Chi, I will be back soon, something in the universe demands my attention."
Chi nods as Eta floats away, making the section return to the natural opaqueness of the barrier. Her last glimpse of him is Chi smiling.
Eta hastily teleports to the other side of the universe to test. She finds one of the creatures and places herself in full view of it now that the section is see through. The dragon-like creature immediately attacks the barrier with never seen ferocity. Just the glimpse of something was enough to set it off. Eta backs away as the creature stops it attack, going back to the mindless prodding.
Next, Eta sends out a small rock through the barrier, the dragon immediately swipes at it, crushing it to dust as its color fades almost instantly to black.
"If these care about a rock that small, why is Chi fine?"
Eta returns to where she was speaking with Chi only to find nothing there. Not a single one of the lost ones in sight, nor a glimpse of Chi.
