Chapter 93 - Chapter 95: Iwagakure Chaos (Part 1)

Chapter 95: Iwagakure Chaos (Part 1)

In the Land of Earth, deep within a mountain cave surrounded by towering peaks.

Haruta sat outside the cave, bathed in the moonlight, lost in thought.

"Danzo… he really made his move."

After stepping into the Land of Earth, Haruta had received a message from Kabuto. It confirmed what he suspected — the dangerous moment they had been anticipating was now close at hand.

To be honest, Haruta felt a sense of gratitude toward Nono Yakushi.

When he first transmigrated into this world, it was thanks to her protection that he had the chance to grow stronger.

Of course, saving her wasn't just out of gratitude — a top-tier talent like her, once rescued, would definitely be loyal to him.

"Still, I need to move fast."

Haruta muttered to himself, carefully weighing his options.

[New Mission Acquired]

[Investigate the Relationship Between the Akatsuki and Orochimaru]

Stroking his chin, Haruta quickly formed a plan.

He intended to use the Akatsuki and Orochimaru's connection as a perfect excuse to act — a reason for his sudden appearance and involvement.

And if he could stir up enough trouble, it would grant him more freedom to maneuver.

The bigger the mess, the better.

How far things would go — how much chaos he could create — would depend entirely on how well he handled the details.

As he thought it over, Haruta realized that this plan would inevitably drag Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, into the mix.

Honestly, Haruta wasn't keen on messing with Onoki again so soon.

But considering the situation, causing a bit of trouble for the old man seemed like the most profitable route.

For now, though, there was a pressing issue — how to find a valid excuse to enter Iwagakure.

He knew where Orochimaru was hiding, but he couldn't just blurt it out. The Land of Earth was vast — they needed a solid lead to justify their search.

"Looks like I'll have to convince Jiraiya."

Haruta's eyes gleamed as his plan slowly came together.

"Hey, kid — still awake at this hour?"

Suddenly, Jiraiya's voice echoed from behind him.

"You could just use a Shadow Clone for night watch. We're not expecting a fight yet — getting enough rest is important. Take it from someone with experience."

"You're still awake too, Jiraiya-sama," Haruta replied casually, shifting his tone.

"And honestly, considering your age, you're the one who needs more rest, don't you think?"

"Tch, you really are an annoying brat."

Jiraiya clicked his tongue, shaking his head as he plopped down beside Haruta.

"Whatever. Say what you want — you're Tsunade's disciple, after all. But Haruta, there's something I want to ask you."

"Is it about the intel?"

Haruta seemed to anticipate Jiraiya's thoughts. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully before answering.

"You don't have to worry about the accuracy of the information, Jiraiya-sama.

Before we left, I'm sure you reviewed the intel on the Akatsuki too.

Right now, the whole group is gathering near Iwagakure.

Frankly, I can't think of any notorious rogue ninja hiding in Iwagakure — if there were, they wouldn't dare stay within the Land of Earth's borders.

Given that, there's really only one person the Akatsuki could be after — the most logical choice."

"Which means… Orochimaru."

Jiraiya let out a long sigh.

It wasn't the answer he wanted — but it was the only one that made sense.

Onoki wasn't someone to be trifled with. When it came to rogue ninjas, the Tsuchikage either tolerated them — like the Four-Tails' Jinchuriki, who once left the village and returned without consequences — or erased them without a trace.

There was no in-between.

"Looks like this mission just got a lot more complicated."

Jiraiya sighed again, a weary look on his face.

"Damn it… why did Orochimaru have to run off to Iwagakure?

Onoki isn't exactly the forgiving type — and tracking down Orochimaru in this vast land won't be easy.

The old man really dumped a mess on me this time."

The Land of Earth was enormous, and without concrete clues, searching for Orochimaru would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

And Haruta's so-called "intel" was vague at best.

It wasn't that the intel was bad — having such information was already impressive.

The real headache came from the three sides involved: the Akatsuki, Orochimaru, and Iwagakure. Juggling all of them was the true nightmare.

"Actually, it's pretty simple."

Haruta glanced at Jiraiya, pausing for a moment before breaking into a small smile.

"Figuring out why Orochimaru is here isn't hard. In my opinion, it's likely tied to the recent tension between Onoki and Konoha."

All because you captured his son, forcing him into negotiations with Konoha…

Jiraiya couldn't help but grumble inwardly but decided to hear Haruta out.

"Given that, it makes sense for Orochimaru to hide here to avoid being caught by Konoha."

Haruta shrugged, his gaze fixed on the distant silhouette of Iwagakure.

"For all we know, Onoki might be using Orochimaru's rogue status to his advantage — hiring him and offering protection."

"This…"

Jiraiya blinked in surprise at the theory. It sounded far-fetched at first, but the more he thought about it…

It was actually possible.

Everyone knew Onoki wasn't exactly a man of integrity — he had a history of hiring shady groups to eliminate his enemies.

And as a petty old man already at odds with Konoha, it wouldn't be too shocking if he employed Orochimaru just to spite them.

"Of course, this is just my guess," Haruta added, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "But the Akatsuki moving so boldly seems to support my theory."

Haruta deliberately paused, giving Jiraiya time to connect the dots himself.

"After all, Iwagakure frequently hires the Akatsuki. It's possible they've gathered intel from within the village, which is how they found out about Orochimaru's presence.

That would explain why they're here. So, if we want more answers, we might have to…"

"Infiltrate Iwagakure?"

Jiraiya finished the sentence before Haruta could, falling right into the trap.

"Infiltrate Iwagakure?"

Haruta feigned shock but quickly switched to a look of admiration.

"That's brilliant, Jiraiya-sama! I was thinking of capturing some Iwa-nin for interrogation, but your plan — while extreme — is much more efficient!"

Jiraiya opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.

Wait… wasn't this your idea?

"Though it's a bit risky, as the saying goes — 'nothing ventured, nothing gained.'"

Haruta nodded enthusiastically, his expression radiating respect.

"As expected from one of the Legendary Sannin, Jiraiya-sama. I think I know exactly what we need to do next."

"Hold on."

Jiraiya couldn't take it anymore.

He felt like Haruta had been subtly leading him down this path the whole time — was this really his own plan?

But the more Jiraiya tried to think of an alternative, the more he realized… this really was the most logical course of action.

"What's wrong, Jiraiya-sama?"

Haruta tilted his head innocently, as though Jiraiya's hesitation confused him.

"Your plan is sound. If we infiltrate, we can check Iwagakure's records for clues.

Or search the outskirts of the village for traces of Orochimaru. It's much better than running around the Land of Earth aimlessly.

And if worse comes to worst… we could always capture Onoki — he surely knows the most.

I have some experience with this."

"Enough! Stop!"

Jiraiya quickly cut him off.

Since when is kidnapping a Kage something to brag about?!

But… a small part of him had to admit that capturing a Kage was a feat worthy of pride — and unfortunately, Haruta really did seem skilled at it.

Still, Jiraiya had no interest in escalating hostilities with Iwagakure, so he could only sigh in defeat.

"Let's not be so aggressive. There's no need for extreme measures.

Fine… sneaking into Iwagakure seems like the best option.

But I'll go alone first to scout the situation.

The rest of you wait here until I return."

"Of course, Jiraiya-taichou. We follow your orders."

Haruta's tone immediately shifted, and he respectfully handed Jiraiya a kunai.

"This kunai is linked to my chakra. Whether you infiltrate smoothly or run into trouble, just channel your chakra into it.

I'll be waiting for your signal, Jiraiya-taichou."

"…Alright."

Jiraiya accepted the kunai, though a strange feeling gnawed at him.

Something about this didn't sit right…

Why did it feel like he was being set up?

---

Outside Iwagakure, hidden within a rocky forest, the Akatsuki had gathered.

Sasori scanned the group and clicked his tongue.

"What a pain. Can't believe we're stuck with this mission.

So, what's the plan?"

"The Land of Earth is huge," Kisame added, resting Samehada on his shoulder. "Finding Orochimaru won't be easy."

"This mission is yours to lead, Kakuzu," Konan said softly, stepping out of the shadows.

She couldn't help but think Nagato was overreacting.

Yes, Orochimaru was strong, but was it really necessary to send so many members after him?

Still, she didn't question Nagato's orders.

He was her last remaining friend after Yahiko's death — and even if Nagato's actions had strayed from Yahiko's ideals, Konan chose to stand by him.

This mission wasn't just about Orochimaru — she suspected Nagato had his own agenda.

Especially with her out of the way…

But for now, Konan pushed those thoughts aside.

Finishing this mission was her priority.

"So, Kakuzu — what's the plan? I don't want to waste too much time."

"This mission is… complicated," Kakuzu muttered darkly.

Internally, though, he was cursing Haruta yet again.

The money was good — unbelievably good.

He didn't even have to do much, just pass on intel and occasionally feed information to the Akatsuki.

But now, that money felt like a burning coal in his hand.

Still, he had no choice — he was a mercenary, after all.

He just hoped Haruta's information wasn't complete nonsense.

"According to reliable intel, there have been sightings of Orochimaru within Iwagakure," Kakuzu announced.

"Orochimaru… is inside Iwagakure?"

Sasori frowned. This complicated things.

"That's going to be a problem. Iwagakure isn't easy to sneak into."

Kisame raised an eyebrow.

His first mission with the Akatsuki was turning out to be more intense than expected.

"Did Onoki hire Orochimaru?"

Konan furrowed her brows, the idea aligning a little too well with Onoki's reputation.

"It does sound like something he would do… This won't be simple."

But no matter how tricky the mission was, they were already here — retreat wasn't an option.

"If only that so-called Uchiha Madara was involved," Konan thought to herself. "It would make this so much easier."

Out loud, she said, "Let's move.

Kakuzu, let's hope your intel isn't flawed."

"For sure…"

Kakuzu forced a nod, already cursing Haruta in his head.

---

The next morning…

"What?! Jiraiya-sama entered Iwagakure alone?"

When Haruta told the team about Jiraiya's plan, Yugao and Yamato both looked stunned.

But Kakashi and Shisui exchanged a look — something about this felt all too familiar.

Infiltrating Iwagakure without permission… gathering intel…

Wasn't this exactly the kind of reckless plan Haruta would come up with?

They had a sneaking suspicion that Jiraiya hadn't come to this decision entirely on his own.

Haruta had a knack for guiding others to "spontaneously" adopt his ideas — which always seemed to skirt the rules.

Shisui and Kakashi had both been caught in similar traps before.

While the results were usually good… the process was never smooth.

"That's the situation," Haruta said with a helpless shrug.

"I tried to talk him out of it, but Jiraiya-sama was determined.

There wasn't much I could do."

Yeah right — not a chance.

Shisui and Kakashi thought, though they wisely kept their doubts to themselves.

"So what now?" Yamato asked, frowning.

"Do we wait here… or follow him in?"

"I say we follow."

Haruta gave Yamato an approving look.

"Jiraiya-sama is alone and vulnerable.

He could run into Orochimaru, Iwagakure forces — or even the Akatsuki.

We can't leave him in danger.

We have to act as a team, gather intel, and all return safely together!"

Or you could've just handed him a Flying Thunder God kunai and knocked him out.

Kakashi resisted the urge to say this out loud.

Still, Haruta wasn't wrong — they had come as a team, so they should leave as one.

"What's the plan?" Shisui asked, cutting through the tension.

If this was his last mission, he was willing to go along with Haruta's chaos — one last time.

Haruta grinned.

"The plan is simple — take these."

Haruta appreciated Shisui's straightforward attitude. Grinning, he pulled several kunai from his waist pouch and handed them out to the four others.

"This time, we'll split up once we're inside. Our main goal is to support Jiraiya-sama's mission."

"Support?"

Yugao frowned slightly, starting to grasp Haruta's intentions.

"You mean… causing chaos in Iwagakure?"

"Don't put it like that — we're not causing chaos."

Haruta shook his head immediately.

"With the small team we have, there's no way we can 'wreak havoc' in someone else's village.

What we're doing is… creating distractions.

Our mission is to investigate Orochimaru — not to attack Iwagakure.

We just need to stir things up enough to draw their attention away, giving Jiraiya-taichou the cover he needs."

Haruta was clear about their objective — they weren't here for an all-out battle. There was no need to escalate things beyond what was necessary.

Of course, what happened later wasn't his concern for now.

Even if things spiraled out of control, his priority was making sure everyone could retreat safely.

As for the aftermath… he'd deal with that later.

"Great… sounds like another 'simple' mission," Kakashi muttered, exhaling lightly.

Shisui simply nodded, ready to move.

Yugao and Yamato showed no particular emotion — they were used to following orders without question.

Looking at the team before him, Haruta's smile widened.

"This mission… should go smoothly."

---

Iwagakure — a dark and silent night.

In a shadowy corner at the base of a mountain, Nono Yakushi quietly observed the scene below.

"The mission is about to begin."

A few days ago, she had received orders from Danzo: eliminate a suspected Konoha traitor.

To be honest, it wasn't an easy task for her.

Although Nono was a skilled intelligence officer, her true expertise lay in medical ninjutsu.

She was a healer — not a killer.

Yet Danzo had long since twisted her role, exploiting her medical skills to gather intelligence.

But… this mission was different.

It might be her last.

If she completed it, Danzo promised she could finally return to Konoha.

The temptation was hard to resist.

No matter the risk, she had to try — she couldn't bear to live with regret.

"Once I return, I can see Kabuto… and Haruta."

Her heart ached at the thought of the two boys — both forced into Root because of her.

Even though Haruta was dragged in thanks to Kabuto's scheming…

It didn't matter.

She still felt responsible.

She owed both of them.

"I have to make this right."

Nono glanced at the time and took a deep breath. This was the critical moment.

Her target appeared below — a boy, no older than fifteen or sixteen.

"Is this the fate of a shinobi…"

She sighed softly, steadying herself.

There would only be one chance to strike.

What Nono didn't know was that someone else was watching her every move.

"So… it's the two of them."

Orochimaru crossed his arms, quietly observing the situation unfold.

Danzo's schemes didn't particularly interest him — they were far too predictable.

But he had to admit…

There was a cruel brilliance in watching someone's spirit be utterly crushed.

By the end of this, he'd have a new, broken pawn to add to his collection — no matter who survived.

"How tragic… but that's what happens when you align with Danzo."

Orochimaru murmured to himself.

However, just as he was enjoying the show, something felt off.

His eyes narrowed.

He spun around instantly, pupils dilating ever so slightly.

"Tch… Something is going on..."

---

Inside Iwagakure — midnight.

Jiraiya crept along the deserted streets, accompanied by a few small toads keeping watch from the shadows.

He had successfully infiltrated the village, but the eerie silence gnawed at him.

The nighttime curfew had cleared the streets of any civilians, leaving only the Iwa-nin patrols — and Jiraiya himself, a glaringly obvious outsider.

"Great… I'm a walking target."

One misstep, and he'd be caught, interrogated…

And then?

"All this just to find Orochimaru. No one said it would be this much of a pain!"

He didn't dare think any further. Complaining wouldn't change anything.

The only thing that mattered now was completing his mission.

"Hopefully, I can gather some intel… and let's pray Onoki isn't too sharp tonight."

Jiraiya muttered under his breath, cautiously moving forward.

He still hadn't decided on his next step — should he sneak into Onoki's office to search for records?

Or capture a random Iwa-nin for interrogation?

"Maybe I should just look around first… kidnapping someone sounds like something Haruta would suggest."

Jiraiya shook his head, suddenly empathizing with his old teacher.

Haruta was undoubtedly talented, but his "talents" often made others uneasy — who knew what kind of chaos he'd cause next?

Buzz—

Jiraiya abruptly stopped, his senses on high alert.

Scanning his surroundings, he whispered to the toads.

"Do you sense that?"

"Yeah… something strange," croaked a small toad perched on his shoulder.

"The chakra is unfamiliar — but powerful.

Whoever it is, they're dangerous."

"Dangerous, huh?"

Jiraiya smirked bitterly.

As if their situation wasn't already risky enough.

"Can you identify them?"

"How could we? It's definitely not anyone you know."

"Great."

Jiraiya rubbed his temples.

The last thing he needed was a new threat.

But standing still wouldn't help — he decided to check it out.

He had no leads yet, so he might as well follow this unfamiliar chakra.

Better than wandering aimlessly.

With that, Jiraiya sprinted toward the source of the disturbance.

---

"He's coming."

From a distance, Haruta noticed Jiraiya moving toward the faint chakra signal he had deliberately released.

He let out a quiet breath of relief.

He couldn't risk releasing too much chakra — Onoki might notice.

Instead, he used Ryumyaku chakra — a rare energy only Kabuto would recognize.

No one else would realize what it was.

After convincing Kakashi and the others, they had all entered Iwagakure.

Unlike Jiraiya, though, they had an easier time getting in.

Haruta had Shisui use a genjutsu to control an Iwa-nin and placed a Flying Thunder God kunai on him.

Once Haruta slipped into the village and found a secluded spot, the rest of the team teleported in.

"Honestly… Jiraiya could've just used me to teleport him inside. Why make it harder?"

The team had already split up:

Haruta moved solo to find Jiraiya.

Yugao and Shisui covered one area.

Kakashi and Yamato took another.

Now, they waited for Haruta's signal to begin.

As for Haruta, he had a lot to juggle.

"First, I need to bring Jiraiya to the target."

Maintaining a delicate balance of chakra release, Haruta swiftly moved toward Kabuto's hidden marker.

At the same time, he expanded his sensory abilities, scanning for any sign of Orochimaru.

Though…

"Seriously, why did Kabuto pick a spot so far away?"

---

"This chakra… what is it?"

Trailing behind Haruta, Jiraiya grew more suspicious.

The chakra felt strange — almost like it was intentionally guiding him somewhere.

And the further they went, the more isolated the path became.

"Are we being led into an ambush?"

Jiraiya prepared himself for battle.

"Hey, Jiraiya! There's someone ahead!" croaked one of the toads.

"No kidding… why else would there be chakra here?"

But when Jiraiya stepped into a rocky clearing, he froze.

His eyes locked onto the figure standing before him — long black hair, white robe…

It was him.

The silence was deafening as the two men stared each other down.

"Orochimaru… so you really are here."

Jiraiya's voice was low, steady, but firm.

"This time, there's nowhere to run.

You're coming back to Konoha — I'm taking you back myself."

"Jiraiya…"

Orochimaru's smirk faded, his expression darkening.

What was he doing here?

Wasn't this Iwagakure?

Had Danzo betrayed him again?

How else could Jiraiya have found him?

The first thought that crossed Orochimaru's mind was his ever-unreliable "ally."

Danzo had sold him out before — why not again?

After all, betrayal was just part of their relationship.

"...Why are you here?"

Orochimaru shook his head slightly, adjusting his expression before locking eyes with Jiraiya.

"You really are like a bloodhound, Jiraiya… always sniffing me out."

"Enough with the nonsense, Orochimaru!"

Jiraiya's gaze remained fixed on his old teammate. Although he hadn't forgotten the strange chakra trail that led him here, all of his focus was now on Orochimaru.

"Come back with me — you have no way out this time!"

"Go back?"

A cold smile crept across Orochimaru's face.

"You have no idea how rotten Konoha has become. Why would I go back to suffer under that decay?"

"Even a withered tree can sprout new buds. Those buds can breathe life into the old tree once more!"

Jiraiya's voice was resolute, his chakra already flowing through his body.

"This time, no matter what you say, I'm taking you back!"

"Oh?"

Orochimaru let out a soft sigh — and then, without hesitation, attacked.

From the shadows of the rocky terrain, countless venomous snakes slithered out, baring their fangs as they lunged toward Jiraiya.

"Fire Release: Great Flame Bomb!"

Jiraiya, long familiar with Orochimaru's tricks, reacted instantly. He leapt back while weaving hand seals, a massive fireball bursting forth and engulfing the snakes.

The air crackled with the sound of burning flesh, and the scent of charred meat filled the night.

"Pathetic."

Orochimaru darted forward, a sword materializing in his hand. With a single slash, he cut through the flames, his free arm twisting unnaturally as more snakes emerged from his sleeve.

"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!"

"Seriously, why are you always doing this creepy stuff?"

Jiraiya muttered, his scalp tingling at the sight of the writhing snakes. But his hands didn't slow — his fingers flew through hand seals.

"Ninja Art: Needle Jizo!"

His white hair shot out, rapidly growing and wrapping around his body like an impenetrable shield. Infused with chakra, the strands turned as hard as steel needles.

The snakes bit down — only to have their heads skewered by Jiraiya's hair.

"This is my chance!"

Jiraiya didn't hesitate. Hidden within his hair, his hands formed more seals.

"Ninja Art: Wild Lion's Mane!"

His hair extended once again, now moving like tendrils, lashing out to ensnare Orochimaru.

"And you call my techniques creepy?"

Orochimaru sneered, raising one hand as sharp blades of wind chakra formed around him.

"Wind Release: Wind Cutter Jutsu!"

The wind blades shredded Jiraiya's hair as they struck, leaving white strands scattered across the ground.

"Dammit…"

Jiraiya winced as his jutsu was nullified, forced to release his Wild Lion's Mane.

"Out of tricks already?"

Orochimaru gracefully leapt back, smirking at Jiraiya's frustration.

"Or maybe… you're just too scared to go all out here.

Wouldn't want to alert the Iwa-nin, would you?"

"You…"

Jiraiya's jaw tightened. Orochimaru wasn't wrong.

Jiraiya's best option was summoning one of his toads to level the playing field — but doing so in Iwagakure's territory would expose his presence immediately.

There was no way the Iwa-nin would sit idly by.

"I've already told you why I left Konoha. If you can't understand that, Jiraiya, there's nothing more to say.

But…"

A dangerous gleam appeared in Orochimaru's eyes, his lips curling into a sinister smile.

"Just because you're hesitant doesn't mean I am."

With a quick hand seal, Orochimaru summoned a towering figure.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A massive cloud of smoke erupted — and from it, the giant serpent Manda emerged.

"Crap…"

Jiraiya's face darkened.

Orochimaru really didn't care about the consequences. Summoning Manda here confirmed Jiraiya's suspicion — Orochimaru was most likely working with Onoki.

"If you're going to hold back, then I won't."

Standing atop Manda's head, Orochimaru gazed down at Jiraiya.

"Let's end this here, shall we?"

With a flick of his hand, Manda lunged at Jiraiya, its massive body tearing through the stone forest.

Boom!

The ground shook violently as Manda's body crashed through rock formations, sending debris tumbling down the mountainside. Dust and smoke billowed into the air, visible even from Iwagakure.

---

In the stone forest — hidden among the rocks.

Kabuto clung to a boulder, dodging falling debris, his heart pounding.

"What the hell is happening?!"

He had been waiting at the agreed spot for his contact — but no one showed up.

He was already on edge when the sudden commotion shattered the silence.

"With all this noise, the Iwa-nin will be here any minute… damn it!"

Kabuto gritted his teeth. He had to make a choice — flee or stay.

Logic told him to leave.

But his heart…

He knew this might be his only chance to see Nono again — his only chance to fix everything.

"If I leave now, I might never get this opportunity again."

Yet… the longer he stayed, the more likely it was that Iwa-nin would find him.

"What do I do?"

Before Kabuto could decide, a chilling surge of killing intent flooded the air.

His instincts flared — someone was coming.

Fast.

Under the pale moonlight, a shadowy figure leapt from the collapsing rocks — kunai in hand, gleaming coldly.

"Damn…!"

Kabuto reacted instantly, years of Root training kicking in. Chakra scalpels formed in his hands, ready to defend himself.

But then, a horrible thought struck him.

"What if this is the director…?"

The figure drew closer — and Kabuto finally saw their face.

It was her.

Nono Yakushi.

The cold, emotionless look in her eyes pierced his heart — and the murderous intent radiating from her shattered any lingering hope that she recognized him.

"Haruta was right… she's really been completely brainwashed."

For a brief second, all of Kabuto's hatred for Danzo boiled over.

He jerked his body sideways, doing everything he could to dodge the incoming kunai — there was no way he could harm Nono.

Buzz—

At that moment, a new figure suddenly appeared between them, stepping in front of Kabuto.

With a swift hand sign, the ground cracked open — and tendrils of wood burst forth, wrapping around Nono in an instant.

"Wood Release…?!"

Nono's voice trembled with disbelief as the wooden tendrils coiled around her.

Her eyes darted to the masked figure who had stopped her.

A Konoha Anbu?

No… this didn't make sense.

Why did an Iwa-nin have Wood Release?

Panic crept in.

If she couldn't escape, this critical information about Iwagakure's secret bloodline might never reach Danzo.

Despair began to set in — the mission was already a failure.

But just as the hopelessness threatened to swallow her whole, the masked figure calmly removed his mask.

A youthful, sharp face came into view.

"Long time no see, Director."

Nono's mind went blank.

"…Huh?"
