Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 – Hunter's Association(2)

'Whoa.' Richard muttered inwardly, as he walked inside.

The place was stacked. There were Hunter's everywhere. Some were in armor holding weapons already, heading out as he was heading in.

To his right, there was a large space containing different rows of computers.

He could see some people on said computers, scrolling through.

On some computers, a group gathered round. A party he presumed. He walked toward an empty computer space and sat in it.

Then he turned on the computer. As it was booting, he decided now was a good time to ask the system to give him the rundown of how stats associated with grades.

"Hey system, you said later. Well later is now."

[These are how the grades work:

Grade 5 (10-90)

Grade 4 (100-200)

Grade 3 (250-400)

Grade 2 (450-650)

Grade 1 (750-1000)

Special Grade (1100-1500)

Divine Grade (1500-????)

For mana levels:

Grade 5 (200-500)

Grade 4 (600-1000)

Grade 3 (1100-1600)

Grade 2 (1800-2400)

Grade 1 (2600-3300)

Special Grade (3600-4600)

Divine Grade (5000-????) ]

"Divine Grade?" Richard questioned, his head in confusion.

[Yes. It is a rank above special grade.]

"I know that. But why wasn't it mentioned in the history books I read before.

[Simple. Hardly anyone ever reaches that level, hence it's not added to history books.]

"Hmm. I see.Guess that makes sense. In a way." Richard nodded, waving away that thought.

But looking at how the stats are measured, it looks like he wasn't just a Grade 3 mage, he was near the peak of it.

"Wait. Then how strong was that Roland guy?" Richard asked. "Oh and I meant compared to me."

[Well, it's better to just show you. These were his stats as at when he transformed into a demonic human.]

"Yikes. Guess, considering how hard it was to handle him, this kinda makes sense." Richard muttered, seeing the stats pop up in front of him.

Ting!

Richard reverted his attention back to the computer screen. On the screen were six different Grade categories.

He clicked on Grade 3 and a notification popped up on the screen.

/Please input your ID number or place your card against the scanner to confirm your grade and identity/

"Tch." Richard clicked his tongue seeing the notification. "Damn it. Fine."

He exited the Grade 3 section and went to the Grade 5.

When he clicked it, the notification from before didn't appear.

Probably because Grade 5 was the lowest Grade possible and any hunter was capable of handling a Grade 5 mission.

He then started scrolling through the missions and could only mutter.

"How inconvenient."

Each of the available Grade 5 missions required a party to participate.

Some missions, the party members were all mostly assembled and were looking to fill a specific role.

Some were looking for a conjurer-type mage, some were looking for a tank-type mage, some an archer-type mage, some a healer etc.

"Hmm?" Richard paused as he noticed one that was still open. There were currently three hunters and they needed just one more.

And there was also a time limit for the mission. From what he could see, it was four days.

But that's not what attracted him. No. It was the mission itself. To close a rift.

'Rift? The heck's that? Hey system.'

[Rifts are... You know what. It's better you see for yourself.] The system replied curtly.

'Whaaat? Haaa.' Richard sighed inwardly.

'Fine. I accept.' He thought as he clicked on the mission then clicked on accept.

Another similar notification popped up this time asking him to place his ID against the scanner.

He did so and a beep sound resounded. Then he noticed that the mission was now in grey, signalling that the party was full.

He then looked at the location on the computer screen. It was towards the outskirts of the city. Near the walls.

"Haa." Sighing, he stood from the computer, heading outside to his bike.

"This better be good system." He said, annoyed as he climbed the bike.

And–

Vroom!

He sped off towards the eastern city wall.
